Title: [TRC] Still not fixed? Post by: Frizz23 on May 07, 2013, 08:08:21 PM When I look at the difficulty for the last 60 minutes it's between 12589 and 157970.
I thought they had fixed the wild difficulty swings, no? Title: Re: [TRC] Still not fixed? Post by: twelph on May 07, 2013, 08:10:09 PM I believe they had to change it back when the difficulty stayed too high after a bunch of miners got off and it was stuck for a while. It happened right when BTC-E added it to their site. Terracoins were stuck without confirmations for days.
Title: Re: [TRC] Still not fixed? Post by: Walter Rothbard on May 07, 2013, 08:12:43 PM It's not the difficulty swings that are the problem; it's the block frequency. If you look, the last several blocks are coming out very frequently, indicating that suddenly there is a lot more hashing power in the network. The difficulty swinging way up is the appropriate response.
When the hashing power leaves, and blocks become infrequent, the difficulty will swing way back down so that blocks don't take days. Title: Re: [TRC] Still not fixed? This coin is going nowhere. Title: Re: [TRC] Still not fixed? Post by: Walter Rothbard on May 07, 2013, 08:25:55 PM Timestamps are looking really bad:

More likely someone with a large hashrate is moving into and out of TRC whenever the difficulty drops. Title: Re: [TRC] Still not fixed? Post by: GSnak on May 07, 2013, 09:23:34 PM Needs to be renamed YoYoCoin. ASICs and farms jump on and off it like a ... I'll skip that metaphor but it varies in profitability between 300% and 60% in a matter of minutes.
