If you only got to invest in one altcoin, which one would you choose?

Right now I would go with eth. Because the growth it has given from the starting of the year seems big and this might continue as more people have been investing into ethereum and ethereum based projects. Though this has never been equal to bitcoin, yet it has got some potential compared to other altcoins.

I am a die-hard fan of Monero because it lets you do all the bad stuff without being your privacy leaked. [/sarcasm]
Just kidding over there, but yeah it's definitely monero I would go for, if I have to choose just one altcoin to buy and hold for long term.
I see that it can probably give better returns just like ETH has given to its investors.

I see some good potential in the coin, and its pretty cheap right now. The copycat of ZCash but without 20% founders stupid funds.

although there are so may altcoins, who have good potential and more chances that its price will increase more, for example Etherium, Zcash, Monero and so may, but every one has their own choice, an  expert person always do investment after a lot of study about the coin and analysis, to me my choice will be Etherium, because i think after bitcoin people also try to invest some assets in Etherium, therefore Etherium has some chances to increase its price, and i will therefore like to choose Etherium for trading.

Recently i feel zcash as promising as eth rather than to choose monero.
People talking about zcash since long time ago and i am not convinced enough.
Until today i really think zcash still have a lot of potential to be one of the greatest altcoin.

yes i also think that still zcash has a good potential to increase and hope that very soon is going to boost again so therefore if some one is interested to invest money here s he has such a good opportunity, and he can really make a good profit in near future.

This is a hard question. But in terms of volume and stability. I would cast my vote on ETH. Yeah, the growth is not that fast but in the next few years it can rival bitcoin. Remember it is a blockchain framework. Many NEW altcoins are built on ETH's blockchain. The more altcoin will use Ethereum's blockchain, the more growth for this coin.

I will choose eth as the main investment. Currently eth becomes the largest altcoin has a market share in altcoin. Altcoin has a large user base and also a promising investor. So I am not worried about the development of eth. Eth Price reached 0.14 btc, see the price we must be more confident with the future eth.

Of coarse I choose ethereum because I believe this coin is the next bitcoin . And the price of ethereum will continue to increase in the next few months. Even the price of ethereum now decrease or dump its better why? Because you can buy a lot of ethereum now with cheap price . So hurry up buy now and for sure after holdingin few months your money become times 3 to times 4.

I don't understand why you make prediction ETH will be expensive couples months later with many problem on ethereum's network right now, ethereum's price just will be decreasing couples months later of the developer doesn't do anything and right now many people exchange ETH to ETC, that is true because ETC is original blockchain of ethereum.

I would say ethereum since most of ico under eth contract are more likely to succceed in their project which is good for ethereum to become more popular and gain a higher price.

I would say Ethereum. It's the number 2 crypto coin with a lot of future potential.

There are lots of ETH guys on here but well its your own point of view and i would say it does have potential but there are still some coins which would really surpasses this coins. You might hate XMR(monero) but this coin is much better it might not have smart contracts but for sure it will still progress later on. Just respect my own views since we do have different perspective on a particular coin.

You are true, ethereum has big capitalization numbers two on http://coinmarketcap.com/
A lot of future potential on smart contract of ethereum's blockchain,
the potential on ethereum will a lot of corporations support, adopt and accept ethereum technology
example for now many projects be builded on ethereum be called dapps.

Sorry if this is a noob question, but can projects like Status and other ICOs that utilize the ETH network switch over their platform to ETC or something else if ETH fails?

Litecoin too for in a long term because i could see that it is still going high after some time it was created. I would still invest in them mainly for the reason for its purpose that i know that after sometime many would want to use it. These altcoin is the longest altcoin in the market and even if it has a low price increase i still hope it can have it peek in time together with the dogecoin.

I'm really sure LUNYR or ICONOMI because these two coins are really good at development and you may see these coins going to 0.01 soon (even ICONOMI already reached that price) . ETH is okay because recent news said ETH migrated to POS, so choose wisely.

I'd go with XMR anyday.

XMR has not 10x in value like Ethereum, Digibyte etc. It has not even been talked about much recently. It's not even in the top ten right now. What does all this suggest? A future pump, coming extremely soon. It used to be constantly in the top 5 untill all the other shitcoins got pumped.


ETH is a bad decision to make right now.

A lot of people in this post are saying XMR and for good reasons. I would use to say ETH, but I am having second thoughts lately. Don't get me wrong, I am still rooting for ETH and have also invested heavily into the Status ICO which uses ETH tech.

Right now I would say Waves. Price is around $4 and this is an easy $100 coin this year possibly.

Currently I am having eye on lite coin .even I could look into waves both having high potentiality if I am having less budget then will go for waves for high budget will go for LTC.

It is a very tough question. Choosing a single currency out of more than 800 is never easy. Ethereum and Ripple are out, as I feel that they are too over-priced right now. I would exclude Litecoin and Dogecoin as well, as they have proved to be super-flops in the past. So I analyzed the remaining 38 altcoins with a market cap of more than $100 million, and came to the conclusion in the end that Byteball is currently having the maximum potential.

I will stand with SiaCoin.
Anyway, BTC is the king.

For me that would indeed be Ethereum. I call at least 0,3BTC/ETH in some times, ranging from immediate transition time to one or two years, but we will reach this point. So now I am accumulating as much as I can.

It would seem that the most obvious answer would be etherium considering it's always next to btc in the crypto heirarchy and people who are thinking to be safe would probably choose eth. I myself would prefer to choose eth if i were to choose only one altcoin.

I choose Ripple.
Focus on Ripple.

Other may come after it.

The only coin I really believe in is NEM.

For me it is much better than any other coin and solve issues of the main coins (Bitcoin, Ethereum,...).

No hype, not over-promising, not based on unrealistic roadmap... secure,  much easier for devs to work with, green...

In that order so if I can have only 1 then bitbay but also blocknets potential is huge if they can get a move on.

Dash.  Love the dark connotations it has, and the blighted history.  Plus it's not doing so badly as far as capital gains go.  The thing went from a few cents to around $200, and that's one hell of a performance.  But do any businesses actually take it?  <crickets>

I don't see the rationale behind all the other coins except for rising prices, and don't get me wrong.  That's a good reason, but none of the really bad altcoins are ever going to have any use.

I'm always eyeing eth and ltc in the market. These two has a great potential.
Eth as next to bitcoin, even though there's a dump in the last couple of days but like just it will recover soon.
Ltc as always, fast transaction and low fee, oh I love using ltc. Trying to invest more in these altcoin.

2nd Ripple.

I'd go for eth.

Antshares (NEO) for a long term investment.

Golem for sure I love the idea behind the technology a decentralized supercomputer. This is really some cool tech.

I also love Maidsafe I am always torn between these two. The idea behind a decentralized internet is very exciting.

If I were to choose one altcoin to invest I think I would choose NEM; and that's for long term investment.

At least it could be top 5 altcoin , that's my prediction.
Not only about the price where move up and down similarly such as ethereum .
But the community itself growing so fast , quite promising to put your money there as a long term investment.

For now if I want to choose for investing in altcoin then I choose ETH and then Zcash and Ripple. Ripple is mostly prefered by banking institutions for their fast transaction world wide.

Totally support the idea, not only for trading but also for holding :)

I definitely will choose ETH, ETH got a huge fans and investor compare to other alt coins and ETH condition now is quite stable and I think it is one of the coin that can survive for a long time in bitcoin side and judging from present condition ETH could be huge and become one of the best coin in the future

the prices don't look good to me at the moment and i can not find any proper altcoin with a nice future price or a pump ahead so far so i chose to stay away for a short while until i can find a more promising investment.

For long term investment, I think I will choose Ethereum because Ethereum has potential to be the future's coin.
For short term investment, I think I will choose MobileGo (MGO) or Edgeless (EDG).

Ethereum so far attracted more than other currencies. He has active and strong support, he is treated with loyalty and he is usable.

Waves and Golem, both will be huge next year! Stock up

If there will be really only one that I can choose. I would pick NEM. This coin have proven itself.
From a very low 300 satoshis to a blasting thousands of it, takes the value to a bigger place.
I would say I havent really trusted coins that are below 500 satoshis but this one really shown how it could be even if it was sold to a very low price.

if you all had to choose between Golem, WAVES and IOTA long term which would you prefer?

I would choose ETH because of it's potential to become second more popular coin after bitcoin, it's price has already increased a lot and it may increase further more I might be wrong but I feel like it has more supporters than any other altcoins. Even my wife and a few friends of mine hold a good amount of it.

Already obvious at this day eth is the second best cryptocurrency for investment bitcoin and then eth but bitcoin is alreayd in a high price so we cant invest in bitcoin a lot and we need a great amount of investment but in eth its only in a average price rate like bitcoin so we can investment eth and have a great profit.

I'm also holding mainly ETH and will hold it for like 4 years and then look at the price  ;)

Long Term : ETH for sure there is no other alternative specially when so many new coins and project are based on this platform so there transaction fee will continue to be in ETH so its like new day to day coin
Mid Term: Waves, Golem, STRATIS, Siacoin, Ardor, Stellar Lumens, Burst, Digibyte, Dogecoin, Ripple (Still haven't shown any major improvement, but hopefully one day)

If I had to invest in one altcoin I would certainly choose Ethereum. Because I think Ethereum is an altcoin that has a better development. Moreover, the fluctuations tend to increase and more stable than other altcoins. It seems that this is a seriously developed altcoin, it will be very profitable if it is used for investment.

It all depends on the risk you wanna take, but one not much risky and currently of my favourites is Waves.

Definately WAVES for me.

The XMR reddity community is growing so fast, that it will have doubled already in 5-6 months.

Aeon.  You can currently buy them much cheaper on HitBTC, once the wallet is fixed on Bittrex the price will sky rocket.
