Title: Tradehill spammers vs Spamcop
Post by: Oldminer on June 20, 2011, 04:31:14 AM
Ok seems theres a lot of spam getting about going by the posts here and a check of my junk mail folder confirmed this to be true. So heres were WE as recipients all get to have a bit of fun :)

Firstly you need to go to www.spamcop.net - take a few seconds to register a free account. You can then simply forward emails you get from spammers to an address you will be provided with, or if your more technically inclined, you can copy and paste the email 'headers' and click 'submit'. Its as simple as that. Spamcop does the rest. Within hours (sometimes even minutes) the spammer gets added to blacklists which reduces spam for others (as well as yourself). In some cases I've heard of instances where whole domains get blacklisted by other ISP's for hours or days on end (I know this is the case as I used to work for an ISP and it happened to us due to one of our customers spamming) until the ISP suspends or closes the spammers account  ;D

Info: SpamCop is the premier service for reporting spam. SpamCop determines the origin of unwanted email and reports it to the relevant Internet service providers. By reporting spam, you have a positive impact on the problem. Reporting unsolicited email also helps feed spam filtering systems, including, but not limited to, SpamCop's own service.

Yeah I got a nice one including his referral code to TradeHill. Spammer bounced off a server in Belgium, 84.194.195.139, as well as gulfsouthmedia.com in CA.

So going to see if I can get the referral code blocked at Tradehill for spamming, that will teach him, maybe.

If enough people act on this we can stop the Tradehill spammers overnight.

I started another thread with the referral codes of the ones I have seen so far. I think the best way is to have TradeHill shut down any account they get a spamming complaint on vs. chasing relay servers.

We're on top of it. These spammers won't be receiving the commissions from their referral codes.
Thanks for starting the list.
