Is there a thread somewhere that explains tuning scantime and threads in the qt clients?

Well that would be nice, because Armory always sucks away my CPU power when its scanning the last part of the blockchain.

What do you mean by "scantime"?

In the client there is an option to set the scantime.

I think I found a suitable answer from the cgminer help.  I assume it has the same meaning in the qt clients.

--scan-time|-s <arg> Upper bound on time spent scanning current work, in seconds (default: 60)

why would you not want to verify the blockchain?  how would you know you had the right info?
