Title: Which of these Alts shall I choose for my Portfolio?
Post by: very_452001 on June 27, 2017, 10:57:28 PM
Hi,

Below is a list of coins that I keep seeing a lot on these forums:

- bat
- sia
- iconomi
- ark
- nem
- ripple
- iota
- monero
- waves
- etc
- stratis
- cloak
- litecoin
- antshares
- gulden
- lbry
- ethereum

Im looking for coins preferably with a total supply and is cheap like under $10 each and has real world usage. I read people say buy ethereum but its nearly $300 each now which is expensive that makes it a risky buy. Monero, litecoin etc are also expensive.

Looking to choose coins that are under $10 the cheaper the better and within a few years will reach high prices like litecoin/monero/ethereum today for maximum profitable returns.

Which ones shall I select?

-waves

All of them have good teams behind the project and especially for iconomi, I believe the project will worth a lot in the future. The main platform will be opened for public in august or at the end of july. My though if the price will get a pump so hard in the future. And that gives you a good return as fast as possible.

These are my personal thoughts so please don't make me responsible for this.

- iconomi
- ripple
- iota

These three are very nice to hold.

From your list I would suggest Stratis and Iconomi.

Stratis has historically shown that their devs ALWAYS deliver and on time. Iconomi is an indirect diversification through their portfolio.

Ok many thanks for your responses. Is there any other Alt coins that we haven't included that are worthy of mentioning here as well.

VIA
LTC

With SW and LN coming to via cross chain TX will be the future.. plus Styx coming for Via as well.. with such a small marketcap there could be some serious returns coming

I don't understand why people look at USD prices when trying to find a cheap coin. "Under $10" means nothing, you have to look at the circulating supply, total supply and so on to see if it's cheap or not.

A coin with a small total supply may be cheap above $10.

If I had to gamble some bitcoins, I would choose Litecoin, Stratis, LBRY, Monero... I guess.

From your list I would allocate to lower market cap names including SIA, LBRY, Ark, Gulden since you are more likely to get a multi bagger with low caps and I would also add a few names not on your list VIA, XBY, ABY, DAR to research and consider for your portfolio.

I don't think the price means too much since it can be misleading with coins that have high circulating share counts.

Agree that these are the best of the list. Definitely the cheaper, the better.

I would choose;

- ripple
- monero
- waves
- etc
- litecoin

Also I agree with a member who said that "you have to look at the circulating supply". You need to consider that before invest in any altcoin.

If I just looked at the supply - I would never buy an XRP  - total supply 100,000,000,000. There are many factors, including technology or purpose.

why would you buy Ripple? yes big banks are working with Ripple.....for their protocol, which does not require the coins/tokens

I'm holding waves, some strat, even some qrl and hmq and taas. Many in your list seems solid, even if I'm not holding them yet

Ok around what figure do you guys consider a low market cap?

What do you mean by look at circulating supply? Without a Total/Max supply displaying next to it then what investor analysis can I make from looking at the circulating supply? Or what points do I look out for when looking at the circulating supply to tell whether it's good or bad?

I would go with AntShares and NEM/XEM, and pick a couple of random ones from your list.

AntShares and NEM both have a solid basis, good development team and they are getting momentum while still beeing "cheap"

Buy some Status Network Tokens (SNT)

First day listed on the exchanges was today (listed on Bittrex) and the price is relatively cheap. This coin had the biggest ICO yet and tons of upside potential. Already ranked #30 overall in CoinMarketCap.com and #7 best asset. I am assuming this will be top 10 in all of crypto and a top 3 asset.

I think this can easily 10x within a month and maybe 100x within a year or two max.

MK is $200M
x100 would mean $20 Billion in MK. (as per today's values, it is x2 vs Ripple, close to Ethereum...)
Even if the market does x10, it would still be a tough ride to x100, bc that would imply an equivalent $2B MK as per today (LTC or ETC levels).

I Hodl SNT, and I'd love to see a x100, but ...let me doubt...

(TL;DR: x100 is crazy... x10 maybe in 1 year...)

From your list. Stratis looks the most promising.... But I would urge you to check out DECRED (DCR) as well... In my opinion, that is one of the best coin to invest in the long term.

I bought 2.8 millions Batcoins @ around 8.969e-10 BTC for my portofolio.

Never seen a number like that before.

That is supposed to be $0.000002 per share.

Hopefully the market will drive price up.
