I made a trade on the exchange built into Ripple a few days ago.

The rate was 1 BTC / 7100 XRP

Now the Ripple currency has a value of 14,084,507 Bitcoins.

This is more value then every Bitcoin in existence, or 66% the value of all Bitcoins that can ever exist in the year 2140.

All the XRP in existence is worth $1.59 Billion.

I just thought a few people might find it interesting that Ripple is now more valuable than Bitcoin.

Yeah, 1.59 Billion ... for sure...

But still ripple is not ideal for investment, even though it has already won the fight against the ether. And I think that now the ether will be much more difficult to defeat their competitors.

I honestly think some of these post are just baits, at least I hope...

The position in relation to the Ripple project as a whole is negative, since there are so many actions that can be performed on the blockchain of this project. As I recall, there is a function of blocking the deposit. This is not decentralization.

For me when it comes to value I go with the present value in price and also in few months
2140 is such a long year

But I do agree it’s lore valuable now, it just needs to actually start up few of the agreements it has in place with banking agency’s

It's interesting to see that xrp value over bitcoin didn't change much over those years.

If the rate was the same as when the op wrote it (1/7500 BTC), xrp would be worth 0.40 usd. Very close to today's pro of 0.32

Ripple will never be more valuable than Bitcoin, even if you imagine that there is a coin capable of moving Bitcoin, then this will clearly not be Ripple!

Come on guys, Ripple is not the best way of how to multiply your deposit. Why people are still investing in centralised coins without a limited supply? I simply cannot understand such investment decision.

The most important thing that comes to the market with ripple manipulation. Ripple, in a competition with Bitcoin. But this is wrong. Bitcoin has a vision! Ripple is a bit of money to make money on Bitcoin.

Both of the are very valuable cryptocurrencies but for me I still choose bitcoin than ripple. I do not know why they say that ripple is more valuable than bitcoin. Even the price of bitcoin is not good but there will be that the price will rise any many people say again that bitcoin is very valuable.

I saw your post for a very long time (2013), almost 6 years  :). But I would argue for now, XRP holders are certainly happy now, because XRP has achieved a very good achievement lately. The rating is right after Bitcoin, with a market capitalization of $ 11,957,904,348. But in my opinion Bitcoin is more valuable, even though the price has dropped more than 63% since its highest price.

What's there to talk about !? Bitcoin is certainly more promising in the market. It is banal even to say it dominates the entire market with an advantage of more than 50 percent. He is also the flagship who founded the cryptocurrency market and will launch a huge economic mechanism ! ))

100B XRP were made and they can't make more.

At the moment of this post, there are 99,991,708,587 XRP out there, according to CMC.

Reason for less than 100B is because each transaction burns (destroys) a very small amount of XRP.

Lol I thought its recent thread. Anyway, if you had converted your ripple to Bitcoins those days, you would be flipin rich today.

Perhaps you are certainly partly right in your opinion, but do not forget that the world of cryptography is developing and many coins will be improved and it is impossible not to allow such a thought that in the future the developers of one of the altcoins will be able to surpass and compete for the place of Bitcoin. And I think XRP is quite well kept in this market, it is a healthy competition. But I don't mean today, I'm guessing for the future.

No, circulating supply of Bitcoin is 17.72 M and can goes up to 21 M in the future.
Current value of Bitcoin is 17.72 M x 8 K ~ 145 B
While Ripple is 42.12 B X 0.38 ~ 16 B

Bitcoin is still more valuable than Ripple.

The foundation of XRP and ETH is different, it is not born to compete with each other. XRP is more about financial services and companies.

Bitcoin is more valuable than ripple and on my opinion will always be more valuable, and also i think ripple is not a good investment, also there was a lot of complains against ripple and i don't know what can happen on future.

I agreed with you. Bitcoin shouldn't have a comparison with any altcoins. The value, the reputation, the potential bitcoin has in the blockchain technology industry is not comparable.  Bitcoin is valuable and No alts can beat that.

As if we did not want to see another coin in place of Bitcoin. Nothing will change. As soon as Bitcoin goes to the top, he will overtake all. I'm sure investors believe in Bitcoin much more.

I noticed that this thread appeared 6 years ago, now in 2019. the fact recently that bitcoin has shown value again, while I haven't seen XRP show high prices like bitcoin, so I think bitcoin will always dominate the crypto market and can not be compared with XRP.
