Title: Mining on CPU which will worth? Post by: jaromiradamek on June 28, 2017, 07:30:55 PM Hello what to mine through the CPU, what will have a sence.
Is some coin which is designed to be not effective not only on the ASIC as is Ethereum, but also on the GPU? Something what is tradeable and exist Android local Wallet app for it? Without it its little usefull for me as currency. What about DigitalNote (XDN) or anything? I just wanna use my spare desktop(Ubuntu) /Android/VPS(FreeBSD) time for anything usefull ;). Any idea to have fun and have possible sence for future? Edit: What about Monero? Title: Re: Mining on CPU which will worth? If you are just starting out and want to learn it's a good place to start. There also might be some new altcoins you can try. Title: Re: Mining on CPU which will worth? Any idea to have fun and have possible sence for future? Edit: What about Monero? Go to https://minergate.com/ (https://minergate.com/) Create account (free) and download the MinerGate software. It will mine the most profitable coin (at the moment) with your CPU and GPU Same goes with NiceHash miner software https://www.nicehash.com/?p=nhmintro (https://www.nicehash.com/?p=nhmintro), but not that many options there. Difference is that with Minergate you get the coins that you mine (BCN,XMR,ETH,etc etc), and with nicehash you are getting bitcoins for the coins that you mine. Check out the thread => https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=735170.0
There is a new roadmap set up and some exciting new features + marketing is coming for 2018. I would bet on this one for the long run. Title: Re: Mining on CPU which will worth? Post by: NeuroticFish on June 29, 2017, 07:44:56 AM There are a number of coins that can be mined pretty fine with CPU - Monero, Magi, Aeon, Bitsend...
However, you'll pay more for the electricity than the amount you'll get if you sell the coins. So if you have a computer that has to run anyway, then CPU mining may make some sense, especially in winter (now at my place it's hot summer so even the heat from the CPU is annoying), but please don't try to make a business of it. |
