Title: 8xGPU How to Fix Error Code 12 "device cannot find enough free resources" ?
Post by: Precision on June 29, 2017, 01:52:05 PM
Hey guys,

Trying to build my first 8x rig but windows only let's me enable 4 GPU's for some reason...

Getting error Code 12 in Display Adapters...

Has anybody encountered this problem before?

I've tried increasing virtual memory to 16gb but that didn't do anything.

Any opinions would be very much appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Here's my setup.

8x1060
Windows 10
8GB Ram

What motherboard? Try changing the PCI-E lanes in the Bios to GEN1 or GEN2 and enable 4G decoding if you have that option. You also need to set Virtual RAM to at least 16-24 GB and AFAIK, Nvidia cards don't work with PCI-E expanders or M.2 converters.

I got the MSI Z170A Gaming M5. I'll try everything you mentioned and will update for everyone of the results...

Cheers mate

Thanks for the reply but which result are you referring to? Some of the vids are from 3 years ago, not sure if the dll is still the same on windows 10...
