Title: ASIC rigs Post by: Biomech on May 08, 2013, 05:11:50 PM Anybody hear or know anything about this company?
http://www.asicrigs.com/ They look interesting, but so far I have gotten no response via email. Granted, it's only been a couple of days. Newbie on this forum. I'll try not to step on any toes ;) Title: Re: ASIC rigs Post by: gadman2 on May 08, 2013, 05:14:18 PM Registered through: GoDaddy.com, LLC (http://www.godaddy.com)

No it's not legit. Title: Re: ASIC rigs Post by: Blue88 on May 08, 2013, 05:16:36 PM With the details above, it seems almost certain to be a scam. The performance/$ is too good to be true, paired with the appearance and recent creation of the site... No I wouldn't trust it.*
EDIT: *I wouldn't trust it without significantly more proof. Title: Re: ASIC rigs Post by: miningusa on May 08, 2013, 05:26:58 PM Be cautious, just look into it.
Title: Re: ASIC rigs Post by: Biomech on May 08, 2013, 06:56:12 PM Thanks, Y'all. That was pretty much my thought. Too good to be true, probably is too good to be true.
OTH, if they are simply sourcing ASICS and building boards, the price isn't outside the realm of reality. I think I'll take a wait and see attitude. BFL claims to be shipping, but so far I haven't found anyone other than a couple reviewers who has actually seen one of their machines. I find Terrahash to be interesting, at least pretty up front about what they're doing, and we know that Avalon chips are real and in production. I'm thinking that's likely the real deal. Title: Re: ASIC rigs Post by: josh_nc on May 08, 2013, 07:03:26 PM Bad smell to it! The pics are identical to BFL which has not shipped anything really. A couple of jalapenos to people close to them and that's it. I had ordered from BFL and Avalon and am thankful to have gotten out of BFL and got my money back! I think BFL is over their heads with their project and these people in the UK seem fraudulent! I'd stay away.

The dimensions are a bit larger, and they are brushed aluminum instead of black, but aside from that, look pretty identical. Being in the USA, I have no real way to check on 'em either. Time will tell, I suppose. Title: Re: ASIC rigs Post by: bujiraso on May 08, 2013, 07:10:24 PM We need more legitimate ASIC suppliers.
Title: Re: ASIC rigs Post by: glowkeeper on May 08, 2013, 07:15:33 PM We need more legitimate ASIC suppliers. ANY legitimate ASIC suppliers would be a start, in fact.... (3/5 :D) Title: Re: ASIC rigs Post by: jomay on May 08, 2013, 07:27:30 PM The address is in the middle of a residential area in one of the not-so-nice buildings. I would be extremely careful.
I doubt that you can simply "source" an ASIC chip and assemble a board with it. The latter step still takes a lot of knowledge. It is unlikely that someone does that in his backyard. Alternatively, find someone in the forum who lives closeby so they can ring and see who's there... Title: Re: ASIC rigs Post by: iANDROID on May 08, 2013, 07:33:10 PM Mmmhhh wait:

It is unlikely that someone does that in his backyard. Alternatively, find someone in the forum who lives closeby so they can ring and see who's there... I simply spoke simply. I realize there is quite a bit involved in this. I have a friend who develops circuit boards for a large memory device manufacturer. What I meant was that they could source the ASIC chips from someone such as Avalon or ASICminer, design a pcb for them, and assemble it FAR cheaper than if they develop their own, and with significantly lower lead-time. Title: Re: ASIC rigs Post by: Biomech on May 13, 2013, 12:30:03 PM Got this email about five hours ago from asicrigs.com .
It's not very convincing. Seems they are trying to follow the BFL "business" model a little too closely. Still, I am watching. So far, I'm tentatively on team Terrahash. So far, their rep here has answered my questions satisfactorily, even when the answer was "I don't know." He's been pretty straight up. I am not yet willing to bet money (bitcoin or otherwise) on them, but they seem more on the up and up than any others I've looked at. Quote Thank you for your interest in our ASIC Rig bitcoin mining devices. First of all, we would like to apologize for the delay in responding to your email, the truth is, we were simply not ready to handle the enormous amount of interest we received from the mining community relating to our product line, so wanted to make sure that we were in a position to answer the questions we have been getting by email truthfully, rather than give you off-the-cuff responses. With that being said, this email should answer most of the questions we have been getting from individuals such as yourself over the past few months so here goes. 1) Expected shipping date. Whilst we do not have a solid date for shipping as yet, given the current progress we have made over the past month with sourcing chipsets, casings and device assembly we are anticipating that we will be able to ship our first products to customers by the first week in August 2013. 2) Pre-Ordering. Over the past few months, whilst we have been diligently working to ensure that we were able to source, assemble and deliver any units ordered, we were not taking pre-orders for our ASIC Rigs product line. However, now that we are certain we will be able to deliver our products, we have opened pre-orders and any products ordered will be shipped on a strictly first-come, first-served basis. You can order your device of choice via our website at http://www.asicrigs.com 3) Delays / Refunds. Given past performance with several other ASIC mining device providers we fully understand that many of you are asking about our refund and delay policy, they are simple. If for whatever reason we are unable to ship our devices, you will be given a FULL refund of your purchase, at the present time, any orders that are placed will have the funds stored in our wallet, with this in mind, you can ask for a refund at any time should you feel that we are unable to honor your order. Any refunds given will be in Bitcoin only (less transfer fees), meaning, if you send us 10BTC, we will send you back 10BTC, less any tansfer fees applied, we WILL NOT send you back cash, Paypal, or any other currency other than BTC no exceptions. 4) In-Person Pickups. Yes, we have already arranged with several well-known individuals to pick up their devices in person, because we are a company registered at a private residence, we must limit the amount of business foot-flow we receive, unfortunately at the present time, those who have already made arrangements with us to collect their devices in person, will be the only ones allowed to do so until such time we have moved our operation to a commercial property. 5) Shipping. We charge an additional $100 for shipping, this should cover the costs to ship our ASIC Rig mining devices to anywhere globally, however, please be advised that we will ship the devices by whichever method cost falls within that $100 surcharge. Meaning if you are a UK based customer, we will send via Parcel Force or registered mail, in the United States, most likely shipping method would be FedEx or UPS Ground, for other countries we will work with our local Royal Mail and other shipping companies to find a solution that will work on a 'per customer' basis. 6) Order Tracking. Because bitcoin is an anonymous currency, once an order has been placed using our payment facilitator, you will be redirected to a page on our website where you MUST complete an order form to let us know your name, email address, shipping address, bitcoin payment address and several other important bits of information. Please be advised that is it 100% your responsibility to ensure that the information you provide on this page is accurate, we will not be held liable for incorrect or incomplete orders because you messed up. We hope that the above has answered any questions you may have had about our ASIC Rigs bitcoin mining devices and if you have further questions, please direct them to us via email directly or, on our Facebook page (which is linked on our website at http://www.asicrigs.com). Please also take a moment to bookmark our website as we will be posting updated information on it over the coming weeks to cut down the amount of time spent with support issues so that we can focus on bringing our ASIC mining devices to market in the quickest time possible. Thank you for your interest in oour range of ASIC mining devices and we look forward to doing business with you very soon. Title: Re: ASIC rigs Post by: BitcoinBoss on May 13, 2013, 01:21:58 PM Seems a bit too much of BFL clone to me :)
Title: Re: ASIC rigs Post by: holgerr on May 13, 2013, 02:06:07 PM Wow, 100$ for domestic shipping? And payment only in Bitcoins, so even if they don't actually exist, there's no way to get a refund? I'm sure that must be really legitimate...
Title: Re: ASIC rigs Post by: snowmonkey on May 13, 2013, 02:16:06 PM Looks dodgy to me.
I laughed at their images - did they do them in ms paint? My guess is they will either take your money and run or take your money and skip away whilst maniacally laughing at you.
