Title: [YAC] How to set up port forwarding for Yacoin on a wifi router
Post by: Adamlm on May 08, 2013, 06:20:37 PM
After this change I have more than 25 connections, before only 7-8.

1. Open your router admin page (for linksys is http://192.168.1.1, for others see guides).

2. Go to Application/Single port forwarding

3. Enable port 7688 for your internal IP address (find it on ipconfig /all).

This should look like this:

Use this IP address in point 3: - it should be "IPv4 address" after typing ipconfig in a command window.

I hope it helps :) Good luck with YAC

But what if two or more clients are mining on the same network?

I think every client has different address, e.g. 192.168.1.2, 192.168.1.3 and so on. In linksys I can assign one IP in a row, so try adding another rows for rest of your IPs.

does this increase the amount of blocks that will be accepted?

I think that when you got many connections your chances to get your block accepted on the network are bigger.

You can only open the same port on one local IP on your network unfortunately.

Open 7688 to your best CPU.

Was just reading you can get around it with a VPN, but no time to play with it now.

netgear here, no luck adding multiple IPs and when I try and config a second it says the port is already in use.  One miner is getting 25+ connections, the other 8.

Been successfully mining all this time with NAT, you don't need to forward ports.
