I had previously had an account under wmikrut -- and admittedly the password was weak.
I cannot log in, and the recover email address password is not working (presumably someone changed the email address).

I scanned the forums and it seems someone logged on as me and initiated a transaction with a user then scammed them.
I was not that person who initiated this transaction and stole BTC from 2 members here:

I will certainly reimburse the users if the account can be restored to my possession.

The person holding my account has cost me 6.308 BTC.. in addition to the funds he stole from users in the forum.

PLEASE make sure your passwords are secure, and that you change them regularly.
DO NOT use the same password for multiple sites.  Thankfully, I do not do that.

That stinks that your forum account has been hacked but at least you are doing a good thing by reimbursing forum members for the money which they lost, I don't want to seem mean but I personally would not have given my own money to attempt to do that, I would have just created a new account and focused on that one. O'well way to be a good person and bump :)

Not so much classy as I felt it was the right thing to do.
I should have had a stronger password -- a mistake that will not happen again.

I value my reputation -- and respect the people I have spoken with, and have done legitimate business with, here.

Did your account get compromised due to that recent phishing?

I can't say for sure... i know (at least i think) i hadn't entered my password in a while... its remembered on the site.  The original password was weak... so i figured someone brute forced it.

Honestly, i don't know how it was obtained.
I do not share my passwords with anyone else.

I have a very strong password on my account now and a 'crack' will not happen again.

Let that be a lesson to me... it cost me 7.808 BTC to learn I need a strong password here.
Don't learn that lesson the way I did... it can be expensive to clean up the mess that's created.
