Title: Looking for a new leader for JKC
Post by: js2082 on May 09, 2013, 04:30:04 AM
Since the launch of JKC, I have been having the pleasure to serve the community by distributing giveaways, answering questions, and constantly watching forums. Because I have a regular job, it becomes impractical for me to continue like this, so I am looking for a leader in the community to lead us to the next level.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=194756.0

I will grant 100K JKC to the new leader as incentive, from the bounty reserve. Also I will hand over all the remaining bounty reserve (about 860K after the 100K grant) to this new leader.

Note, the bounty reserve belongs to the community, if after the needed bounty distributed (e.g. for exchange etc), the remaining will be distributed by giveaways or faucets.

What I expect the new leader: a good communicator, have a passion on the alt coin, have enough time to spend each day in the forum, and a person who can execute.

If anyone interested, please PM me with your introduction and your plan.

I'm up for leader!
I will get JKC to an exchange site. Also make faucets and gambling sites with JKC.

With the JKC's up for bounty, I will give people the incentives to make these sites.
I study marketing and sales so I'm pretty good at promoting a coin :)
Plus, I wanna make a career out of alt-coins.

I will make a website where you can tip girls with JKC to do webcam shows for you.
You can pay hookers with JKC :)

That's what they're for, all your junkie needs :)

One idea would also be to rename the coin to Jackie Chan.
Joke... :P

:)

yeah seriously the name is hurting the coin. also i think you should send only 50K to the leader every month. else he's gonna just cash out and disappear.

I'll show you what I pm'd the leader. So you can tell me your idea:

I always wanted to have my altcoin and promote it and actually do a service to people with it.

And what gives a coin it's power is what you can do with it, what you can buy or trade.

And these services, gambling sites, exchanges, naked girls, maybe drugs. But it doesn't have to be dirty things, it can also be nice things. Once JKC is on an exchange site and has real value, then it can be given to small companies, like a game-developing company to implement it into their games and give out in-game items for example in exchange for JKC. This will add to their value.

Some people only see junk... But honestly, 50% of our money is spent on junk: fast food, condoms, cheap fun hehe

That's life.

The name is pretty good. It's the coin with which you pay all your small little things.

In fact, it can be anything we want.

I can make it better than any of these crappy pump-n-dump coins like CNC or FTC, which are bullshit.

The bounties will also be used to create sites JKC.com for example. Forums.

New ideas, I have a million.

I can talk for days and days of how I want to develop a coin and actually make it used for useful stuff, not just for one or two people to get rich overnight, that is just lame and doesn't serve the higher purpose.

The name isn't necesarrily hurtful for the coin.

It's how you use it :)

Guys, don't call this premining. It is very different than the **insider premining** you see happening in all the alt coins.

I did the coding change, I can't do everything, such as mining pool, wiki, etc, etc. These people they work for the community by providing the mining pools, wiki, block browsers etc merit some bounties. So this is the purpose of this bounty reserve.

It is stated very clearly in my first post about JKC.

I can provide the community with JKC mining pools.

DDOS proof.

I can offer bounties to create a nice user interface for these pools and get things going.

Time is huge on my hands.

Why not ? Don't you think I'd have an interest in actually making something with the coin ? Increasing it's value?

I'm not stupid you know.

I'm not going to sit on 800 worthless coins now. I'll be wanting to make them worth a lot more ^_^

Do you have any better ideas now?

Title: Re: Looking for a new leader for JKC

If I were in charge I would get rid of all the JKC symbols everywhere and replace them with JNK, for instant recognition. JKC just does not bring to mind JuNK. It is obscure and non-obvious, and if you do ifgure out the Cmust mean Coin you're left with figuring what JK means, which pretty much everyone already knows means JoKe.

Hopefully who-ever does take charge would do the same.

Since limitless seems to already have buddies, companies to form, or whatever to pay the bounties to I'd also look into whether maybe letting those already in mind bounty-recipients compete for the bounties does in fact result in bounty-worthy results when the receipt of the bounty is contingent upon worthy results and competition is encouraged.

Thanks for those applying, I will need to leave this for a while, so all the people can see it. So from the application I'll choose a best one for the community.

The OP really made a half-arsed launch of this coin, shame as he had some nice ideas. The name was worst idea ever though  ;D

However, he looks like a nice guy and made some effort to fix a mess he made on the beginning.

Not sure I'm yet ready to invest in this one but good luck to people that did.

lol, fair comments. There are two issues with JKC:

1. name: yes I made a mistake there. We try to fix it by calling it JKC or JKC coin now. As completely to change a name is too late now (due to config dir, client etc).

2. though I stated very clearly from the beginning the purpose of the 1 mil reserved bounty, many people still think it inadequate, they think I will take it. Now, by finding a new leader and hand over him everything, I hope this misunderstanding will be cleared. Actually looking at this alt coin world, JKC is the most clean and honest one ever created. After launch people observed the block number at 150 or 170 (1st 100 was for bounty reserve), do we ever see this in any other coins?

anyway, with the new leader I am sure JKC will be a success. I will not quit, I will still mbe there to support the new leader and JKC.

j2082, you seem like a very forthright and honest individual.  I would rather see you manage the reserve, even if it stays unspent, then designate a "new leader" who may squander it.

That doesn't need to be a full time job.  Just monitor the boards periodically and send out the bounty for major milestones such as exchange support.

Stay in the top spot mate, you've been good for the coin.

Then appoint a couple of people to be your right hand men/women.

Thanks guys for your support. The main reason is that I have a day job, so I can't be in the forum all the time. But I guarantee you that I will be there, I will not quit, I will support the new leader. This is in the interest of all who hold JKC.

The good news is that I already found an excellent person to fit this position. He has been long time in the forum and is passionate about the e-coins, he has great knowledge and been very consistent. He has a great plan to fix the issues we have and lead us to the next level. We will prepare the transition soon, and will make announcement. Keep faith and you will not be disappointed! This is the most honest coin here!

Fine, appoint a new leader but you stay in place as Treasurer.

Changing who controls the treasury just increases the risk.

You already could steal it, no point going like "oh well he hasn't stolen it, better give someone else a chance to!"

You've got a big red scammer tag..

I have a feeling people won't take nicely to the fact an alt coin is ran by someone labelled as that.
