LTC is a good investment after BTC and ETH. BTC needs to accept segwit and some investors are running to ltc.

What are the reason behind recent LTC rise? ??? ??? ???

why are you surprised ???

litecoin is a very good coin.
it has an active team developing it and working on it constantly to improve
there is real adoption for it unlike the rest of the altcoins.
you can actually use it as a currency.

and as far as trading it goes, in the past few weeks the price has been stable and holding itself up above the resistance level while the volume was very high and everything was pointing towards an accumulation phase.

and after each accumulation there is a big rise. and this is just the start.

I think why Litecoin is still rising because many people buy litecoin for the future purposes. I think this is the right time to buy litecoin because for sure in the next few months it will increase more and for sure the price for sure will be 100 dollars and I uope it will happen so we can make a lot of profit. More litecoin more money to come. Hold your litecoin dont sell it. Litecoin is very promising coin.

What are the reason behind recent LTC rise? ??? ??? ???

There's supply, demand, and speculation about LTC development. That's good for market but we must see it clearly. News about LTC is pumping price more higher, it's a good sign for investor and trader to buying more LTC. But be careful about news, sometimes right sometimes wrong, that's way using stop loss and patience is necessary. Hope will rise higher than today. Good luck.

I doubt it. Since Charlie announced the news as being false immediately. The author of the news corrected the story. Even the stuff on reddit about Amazon was mocked by the community on the LTC subreddit when a wave of trolls tried promoting the idea (a mod even banned the OP). Frankly, it was the most amature attempt to pump a coin I've witnessed.

It has started to rise because:

  • It has: https://i.imgur.com/zown1xe.png
  • Google the Litecoin roadmap 2017 or https://litecoincore.org/
  • Litecoin is releasing the lightning network soon
  • Smart Contracts are coming to Litecoin
  • Anonimity is coming to Litecoin in steps beginning with the amount sent obfuscation
  • Atomic swaps is coming (like shapeshift but without needing to use shapeshift)
  • "Tether will be issuing USDT on Omni on Litecoin"
  • MASK (Demo imminent any minute)
  • It is decentralized
  • Fair release, many appreciate the fact of no ICO, Premine, Instamined, Nijamined.... Litecoins
  • Neither Charlie Lee (the creator) or the developers hold the majority of coins (eth is being held 75% by creator and devs)
  • There is max 84 million Litecoins and no more. Ethereum, Doge, Infinitycoin..... have an infinite supply
  • There is no risk of forking the network (like with ethereum or bitcoin)
  • Low fees to send money around
  • Liquidity, volume has remained high month after month for years
  • Charlie gone "all in"
  • The community is awesome it also helps when consensus is needed.
  • Telegram chat 24/hr awake
  • RSK
  • Yours.org
  • Bitgo added Litecoin (A Billion Dollar e-commerce)
  • No Blockchain bloat
  • Stability
  • Fast confirmation times.
  • Blocks are not full
  • Capable of eight times as many transactions as Bitcoin in a ten minute period.
  • The faster block time of litecoin reduces the risk of double spending attacks.
  • Anti-spam
  • It's primary function is to be a cryptocurrency
  • Continuous development look here at number of releases in past few years: https://github.com/litecoin-project/litecoin/releases
  • The speed, liquidity and value of Litecoin is useful to traders seeking arbitrage opportunities between exchanges.
  • Still mineable in many western countries even after electrical costs are factored in. Many low value coins can be merge mined with it increasing profits for miners.
  • It will always maintain the integrity of the blockchain (no hard forks for special interests).
  • Potential of using the Lightning Network as a method of increasing transactional capacity.
  • Supported by a growing number of merchant payment processors.
  • Longevity
  • The possibility of utilizing sidechains for smart contracts without the possibility of corrupting the original non-turing complete blockchain.
  • Unlike bitcoin, it is possible to make changes to Litecoin (SegWit archived almost 100 percent consensus).
  • Fast well established network.
  • Security. Litecoin has the same security that Bitcoin
  • Most popular 24h trade on shapeshift is ETH -> LTC

I agree with this. As bitcoin becomes harder to use, people wait to switch to litecoin instead. Others just invest, because they hope the price will grow and they will be able to gain some money from it. Segwit and Lee are also good reasons behind the rise. I think ltc is a good one. However, it lacks exchangers. I mean there aren't many websites to exchange it with some fiat.

Right once someone who seems popular promotes it ,surely fans or supporter of it will really adopt what they chose. So China is the reason of this pump, poor me I don't have any LTC left I don't see it coming.

Surely it is one hell of a bright lite.  ;D

at least there is something to promote! they are not "hyping" or lying about the coin. Litecoin actually has some potential specially with all the additions they did. i wanted to say what @o0‡0o said above but he did it so much more complete than me.

and after years i finally feel good about investing in an altcoin and actually holding it not just wait for a couple of days to dump it like all the rest of them so far.

Speculators are rotating out of Ether into Litecoin. See

https://www.reddit.com/r/litecoin/comments/6l5ueb/eth_ltc_most_popular_24h_trade_on_shapeshift/

Most likely because of Eth's network congestion problems.

this is right, but segwit is what made china buy more litcoin, this and bitmain releasing a new antminer for litecoin, is known that miner promote the altcoin they mine, they also buy the altcoin they mine, there is a huge promotion right now for litecoin, and this increase the value

I was surprised to when I see LTC trending up and I thought at 0.019 BTC will not last thinking that this is just temporary or someone is just pumping this coin again but looking at it, its there for half a day already and may reach 0.02 BTC if volume continues to rise. While this coin is making its way up, ETH is going to another direction.

LTC is a good investment after BTC and ETH. BTC needs to accept segwit and some investors are running to ltc.
That is not the case with the increase in price, basically the Chinese exchanges have to do with the rise in price, check out the volumes coming from the Chinese and Korean exchanges because 49 percentage of the litecoin volume is coming from three exchanges.

The LTC foundation did hire a full time developer. I understand that Charlie is paid one LTC a month as Managing Director. I haven't read anything to indicate that he receives more than that amount.

Edit: It would be interesting to know how much the Ethereum Platform developers are paid (including summer bonuses) as well as the many ICO developers. For comparison purposes.

Good points already listed but it should've been obvious that once the segwit signaling chatter was going on that a breakout was imminent. Told everyone in the past ltc threads, when it was in the $3 range, that they better stack up. Congrats to those that payed attention as your profit margin is magnificent and up we go. Bitcoin is going to be the wealth storage protocol while Litecoin will become the transfer payment method of choice and will rival Dash and Eth going forward. Between now and the end of the year: the stairway to Heaven has opened its pearly gates.

Also Clif High has predicted big gains in LTC the remainder of this year while ETH sloshes a little due to it being overused for ICO's

Check in on the latest on Twitter:  @Clif_High

Or his website halfpasthuman.com for Wealth Reports each month (sometimes more often) for $99

Clif has personally made me a fortune and we're just getting started with Cryptos ...

What are the reason behind recent LTC rise? ??? ??? ???
Some news say LTC can reach 3 digits (USD) in September with some reason can't disclosure. But they sure 100% LTC will reach three digit USD in long-term and can compete with ETH in next time, this is the news I know in 3 days ago, before the price rasing up

I said earlier this year we would get to $75 by the end of the year.

It may come earlier than previously anticipated.

I am guessing some hype is also due to the MIT announcement?
http://litecoin.mit.edu/

Doubt it, since that website has been discredited by Charlie Lee.

I believe part of the reason for the rise is because btcc (dax) exchange just got launched by Charlie Lee brother Bobby Lee.  I feel smart traders are positioning in early for the event when Litecoin gets to be traded on BTCC (Dax)

When looking at the btcc website it looks exactly like coinbase and gdax.  This is pretty much the coinbase of china it appears.  Website looks slick and usa friendly to use.

The exchange btcc has been up and running for many years. It was founded in June 2011, it was the China's first bitcoin exchange. So it has nothing to do with it.

btcc did recently open a new mining pool in China which so far has attracted very few miners. It is hoped that it will attract some miners from f2pool to better balance miner distribution.

I thought it was gonna drop like a rock, maybe it still will, maybe it won't.  JFC, when will I learn not to short a bull market!

At some point, a little bit in my mind says maybe this is how people handles the August 1 issue of bitcoin. Maybe, some are holding altcoins for now since we can't know what will really happen after August 1. And since litecoins are too promising that most choose to hold this more than some altcoins. Does it make sense or I'm just having an irrelevant reasoning here?

I thought Lee is very busy person to get to promotions of LTC. Its goof thing that LTC is now growing. Go LTC we wanna see you catch BTC in the future. After all they say slow and steady wins the race.

What was reason for people to think that LTC won't show up in its full shine? I remember how it was crucified as worst coin, waste of time, Chinese abandoned pnd coin..Look it now!  How far it will go nobody knows, but one is certain LTC is top coin!

Second longest chain after bitcoin, with none of the scaling and blocksize issues.  That in itself deserves at least a 200 dollar valuation in the current market.  Still way undervalued.

From which exchange you got this price bro?

It's $5x at major LTC exchanges.

LTC will always move with Bitcoin. Just like everything else. When you have 40% of the total market share of 100bln, you're not going anywhere anytime soon. Also since crypto has already secured 1% of all the world's cap. Crypto isn't going anywhere either. 1% of the world is a lot.

1% of the world is quite big, huge actually, and there are a lot potential. Imagine what would happen when major banks and financial entities join the game.

Some already joined.
