Title: Game Studio BTC Post by: lathomas64 on June 20, 2011, 01:13:19 PM Would a game studio accepting btc as a payment option influence your decision to buy their games? Would you be willing to spend more in BTC then you would in your local currency?
Title: Re: Game Studio BTC Post by: speeder on June 20, 2011, 01:22:01 PM I dunno, but I am a Game Studio that accept BTC :D
But I only got a single sale so far (someone bought the first lesson of my course on how to make games, for 0.1 BTC) Title: Re: Game Studio BTC Post by: lathomas64 on June 20, 2011, 01:24:28 PM I see you offer to translate to portugesse for bitcoin. Are you a native speaker?
Title: Re: Game Studio BTC Post by: speeder on June 20, 2011, 01:35:25 PM Yes, I am from Brazil.
And I translate since I was a little kid... When I was 10, I dreamed of being a awesome cool haxxorz and figured that a cool way to do that was translate roms (because it involved disassembling, hexadecimal editing, whatnot). My english was crap back then, so I had to keep a huge english-portuguese dictionary nearby... But it was fun :D I do not translate roms as hobby anymore (I do not have time... it is a very time consuming process), but I translate stuff :) Localization is awesome. Specially when done right (almost all software I use, I get in english, because the translators are always clueless about what the author intended and write some crap translations) Title: Re: Game Studio BTC Post by: speeder on June 20, 2011, 02:07:40 PM Our site currently suck. :(
I need a webdesigner. But it is right now (the part that works) paddlewars.agfgames.com Title: Re: Game Studio BTC Post by: lathomas64 on June 20, 2011, 03:50:30 PM I think I've read about that on indiegames.com or the gamedev stackexchange. cool! ^_^
Title: Re: Game Studio BTC Post by: lathomas64 on June 20, 2011, 04:01:08 PM would it effect how likely you were to buy a game though?
Title: Re: Game Studio BTC Post by: speeder on June 20, 2011, 04:10:09 PM Oh...
There are a guy that hired my studio to make a trailer for his game. I accepted only if he in exchange accepted BTC for his game :D Here: http://garnetgames.com/puzzlemoppet/ Buy the game, and prove to the guy that accepting BTC was good idea. I am sure that this would make more games get available with BTC! Title: Re: Game Studio BTC Post by: lathomas64 on June 20, 2011, 04:20:59 PM I don't have many BTC at the moment to buy his game but plan to accept btc for payment once I finish a game that we are going to charge for. (our first game will be free)
Title: Re: Game Studio BTC Post by: xerohour on August 23, 2011, 03:08:02 AM Dragon's Tale is pretty awesome.
Ive made .3 (FREE!) BTC wohoo! Not much I know, but it is fun to gamble with bitcoins. I hope to see more games come out implementing BTC features. Would be neat! Title: Re: Game Studio BTC Post by: Malcode on August 23, 2011, 06:53:50 AM Sorry but if it's a shitty game, your sales are going to suck no matter what. If it's a good game then you will get sales.
Title: Re: Game Studio BTC Post by: whitebird on August 23, 2011, 08:38:01 PM I dunno, but I am a Game Studio that accept BTC :D Actually i would be interested in that lesson. But I only got a single sale so far (someone bought the first lesson of my course on how to make games, for 0.1 BTC) What language is it in? What IDE, etc ... Since i can't PM yet, can you answer in this topic? Thanks in advance Title: Re: Game Studio BTC Post by: bncbnc on August 23, 2011, 08:53:12 PM If the games are good, sure why not?
Title: Re: Game Studio BTC Post by: dustintrammell on August 23, 2011, 09:33:00 PM I would be more motivated more to buy a game if it were sold in BTC if it were a game I was interested in.
