Title: Best Wallet
Post by: ibmug on July 05, 2017, 05:00:34 PM
Hello,

I was wondering what was the best wallet out there/for you.
Points to consider:
1.Speed of transaction.
2.Security
3.Type of AltCoins it can process.

Thanks for your opinions!

What kind of coin are you going to use?

For ether tokens I would use MyEtherWallet, it's very portable and can be used by any device if you have the file or the private key of your ethereum wallet.

I use MyEtherWallet and I'm very satisfied for other coins I would use their official ones instead of any other wallet that can combine them.

1.ETH
2.KMD
3.ICN
4.NEM
5.Cloak

I only hold onto Ether among the coins you mentioned and I recommend using MyEtherWallet. As for the other coins, you can try using the default wallets as you won't find online wallets for smaller coins and if you do, they will not be totally secure.

It looks like that’s what people like to use nowadays since downloading the Ethereum blockchain requires a bunch of time for it to download completely. If I wanted to download Ethereum’s Blockchain I am pretty sure that I would have to wait at least a couple of days for it to download completely.

I’d rather use another wallet not MyEtherWallet because technically it’s an online wallet and those wallets can get hacked at any time if the website owner really wanted it to.

I use coinpayments for most of my transaction its best for me confirmations also comes very fast and it accepts many coins so no worries about the coins and that is very secure also they always email the code before you login so no risk of getting hacked and all. I prefer coin payment if you want to use online wallet its best according to me. And fees for transaction in coins is also very reliable so its good for me...

I recommend, MEW (MyEtherWallet) for your ETH wallet. But you have to be careful, because recently there was a fake web address with myetherwallet.com.im
The real address is myetherwallet.com
Don't forget to save your private key.

For Ethereum itself and ERC20 based tokens, I absolutely suggest you to use myetherwallet (MEW) platform. It's secure and you hold your own private keys, nobody knows them. You also store UTC file. There is no danger in MEW like happened in parity multisig.

Trezor + MEW

I would stick to the default wallets for either of the coins that you've mentioned except Ethereum.
For Ethereum you can basically just pick and choose, most of thoe wallets are good enough, depending on the features that you want.

But for those other coins you've mentioned, the default wallets are pretty much the only option you've got.

Waves Client Chrome App for Waves and Waves assets.

1.  A hot wallet
2.  A paper wallet
3.  Copay

Overall for a combination of speed, security, and coin support... I would recommend a hardware wallet such as Trezor.  You can use it in combination with MyEtherWallet, etc.

As simple as it looks MyEtherWallet is amongst the most advanced and convenient web wallets i have ever used and the good part is its not limited to only ethereum but several other tokens are supported too.

MyEtherWallet(MEW) for ETH and ETH tokens.
Waves Client Chrome App for Waves and Waves assets.
yeah the Waves Client (wallet) is a contender for best wallet and its embedded with an exchange

My ether wallet and coinomi it protects recovery phrase with password and you can store a lot of alt coins in that with just one passphrase.

The best and safest wallet is either a trezor or a nano ledger. Easily worth the price for the peace of mind, only problem is you'll be waiting a while to get either!

I currently have been using exodus and MEW. But am waiting on a ledger. I agree that it's worth the price for peace of mind.

I guess if your finding a wallet that can process of type of altcoins maybe myether or wave wallet could help you but i recommend either or ledger try desktop wallet it is more applicable in speed transaction but not all could handle all the type of altcoins in the market i guess they cant support all the coins.

ETH,ICN = Myetherwallet, or Mist wallet (officially launched by the ethereum developers)

KMD = Just try to download the official wallet from the project's bitcointalk page announcement.

I think you must try to understand what is the needs of your coin because every coin has the different specifications and network.

That's very important to exercise caution when we are holding a lot of money in our MEW address.
Thieves will always make ways to steal our coins but with greater knowledge and understanding it will not be possible for them.
