A big German food delivery service (Lieferando/Takeaway.com) is now accepting Bitcoin in Germany!
It's a huge thing for Germany, they do not have a lot of stores accepting Bitcoin.
Of course it's a little bit of a marketing thing for Lieferando, but who cares.

What do you think? Germany to accept Bitcoin step by step would be great!

Takeaway.Com in the UK  has accepted bitcoin for quite some time and it seems this is just Lieferando.de. Any merchant accepting bitcoin is always good news but I always fear many companies will just stop offering it as am option eventually because I can't imagine them getting much business in bitcoin.

Are they the first food company to accept Bitcoin in Germany, if they are the first one then this could help them to gain more sales and additional publicity for their company which is going to be huge, and with so many bitcoin holders in Germany this is additional sales and revenue for their company.

That's actually a great news, I have a close friend in Germany and I wanted him to invest in BTC when it was just around $400 per bitcoin, maybe this will make it easy for him to get in the crypto world now.

I thought Takeaway.com closed their business, in the UK anyway I am sure I received a mail ages ago about this, either way they were one of the first to offer bitcoin as a payment option.

You are correct with Burger King, they are doing this in one of their Russian franchises, hopefully it will spread beyond Russia.

Anyway, I'm not sure how spread-out bitcoin is in Germany, but any publicity is good publicity. It's always like, people see the sign "accepting bitcoin"(if they ever have one) and it will spark questions among the people, which is good.

Its possible but assuming they use a service to convert it then it won't cost them much if anything to keep offering it as an alternative.

True,  but I have actually seen at least one company stop offering it due to lack of interest (though I can't recall which one right now). Though I agree offering it isn't going to hurt and will always either get them some free publicity as well as pique people's interest in btc once they see that they accept it as payment.

I am surprised why Germany's firms was waiting so long? Japan, China, South Korea and Russia and others.
There are no doubts that this crypto-wave will take and other countries and other areas of shopping, not just fast food. :)

It's a good news that developed countries like Germany, England, USA etc are recognizing bitcoin and supporting it. Such news are not only a reason for great excitement but they do strengthen our belief in bitcoin. Thanks for sharing.

this year has really been great.

we, bitcoin users, who are inside the community and see everything may sometimes feel things aren't moving forward as they should. but if we look around us in the real world we can see there are a lot of things happening, despite all the drama and the debates and the fights inside the community over fees, block size, .... people are adopting bitcoin, merchants are adding bitcoin, governments are accepting bitcoin and removing taxes on it!

and all of this is why price is still rising and will continue to.

A good news for the crypto community. More business/companies/industries starting to accept bitcoins means more publicity of crypto currencies. In fact its going to help them publicize themselves too! They might see some hike in their orders for a while  ;)

Yeah, this year has been great for the bitcoin community. I  believe the bitcoin revolution is already coming up. Or has been here already. A lot are being knowledgeable now or trying to educate themselves with cryptocurrency and many merchants are now considering accepting btc as payments. Indeed, we are now in the digital world.

Couldn't have said it better. I see more and more businesses start accepting bitcoin; more governments planning a regulation of the currency; more people gaining interest and jumping on the boat.

of course it is also a marketing technique for anyone who starts accepting bitcoin. but the important thing is that when they accept bitcoin it is a win- win situation.
they get some more publicity and advertisement, some of it for free even. and bitcoin gets another new real world application and is one small step closer to the mass adoption.

Well, that's a great news for Germans, I guess. Being a Bitcoin enthusiastic, it's so frustrating that there's no one in my country (Pakistan) - at least to my knowledge - that has any idea about Bitcoin and they still treat fiat as if it's the only way to trade. Hopefully we'll also make progress in Bitcoin soon.

Food chains accepting bitcoin is increasing rapidly, few days back the burger king chained network has released the information that from summer bitcoin will be accepted as a payment. Possibly this will counts on with growing ventures all around the country.

This is excellent news especially for those who are in Germany and those who are planning to travel to Germany, one reason I see this could be happening because because of brexit, and euro is under pressure so getting Bitcoins as a hedge is always good idea. Secondly people shall freely spread the word about this so both ways every one is benefiting. That's nice actually.

that's was a good news that more delivery service are accepting bitcoin and indeed i saw several kind of service just like this accepting bitcoin even only for the particular countries but i think it will more increase bitcoin users because buy foods use bitcoin more easy rather than use paper money

I mean bitcoin value varies from  time to time at an increasing rate and so is the food? Or I just misunderstood how it works? lol Please do enlighten me.

No. The price of the food you bough will still remain. Let say you got it for 1$ then you can pay it with with the current price of bitcoin. It is up to the merchant to cover if their is a price jump or price down of bitcoin. You don't need to worry. Yes, I also hope that globally, not only in the Philippines that bitcoin can be accepted so that we can enjoy the privilege of having bitcoin in our wallet.

Nah it won't change. The value of the coin does but the price of the food remains. Also, it's exciting to see food chains such as Max's, Jollibee and the likes accept such as a payment for delivery. Bitpay can be integrated though it would be a long time before they start to do so.

Also, I'm trying to get coins.ph to be a concierge for the delivery thing. We're exchanging ideas as to how would that work but they say that they'd be cool with it since it's a start of yet another innovation in the country and to spark up the interest for bitcoin.

well until they regulate it like japan you will not get far away, random shopping accepting bitcoin on theri own isn't helping much i think, it has been like that since years that some random small business enter bitcoin

but the adoption do not increase because of that, you need what japan did, and in fact the value skyrocketed after that

You are right I am also amazed to see that how fast bitcoin is growing day by Day I do remember that when bitcoin was invented there were very few accepters of this currency and the price was very low but! Today bitcoin is world famous and even food delivery service has t he bitcoin payment service and they are accepting bitcoin payment it is really a good step.

yeah, That’s great news. I knew this that sooner or later the world is going to have new currency in the form of bitcoins. Bitcoins have got all to be the new international digital currency that too legal one. The increasing popularity of bitcoins is forcing big markets to accept them for payments.

Japan anoounced that bitcoin is legal in their country. Austria's energy providers started to accept bitcoin. This is a snowball guys, excellent for bitcoin.

India is also thinking to regulate the bitcoins. All these news will be excellent news for early bitcoin adopters. It will give them an opportunity to grow their money. Apart from Japan and China bitcoins are not so popular in Asia yet. If some good service provider starts accepting bitcoins in Asia, then it will be a good boost to bitcoins growth.

This is great news. Services like this will greatly help the development of bitcoin in the world, especially in Germany. Without any support like this, bitcoin will be quite difficult to develop quickly. So the more countries that can develop bitcoin and play an active role will make the bitcoin price increase. I think btc isn't even mainstream yet and as the more and more people who adopt the more value it will gain i think btc can reach over 10k in next few years.

Yes it is really a big thing for Germany and it is really great. I am happy to read this kind of news (Hopefully it is true) for bitcoin is step by step will be known by other people who does not and does have bitcoin, and I am happy too that bitcoin is accepted in that country. Accepting bitcoin means they agree with bitcoin as currency and accepting bitcoin means that they tolerate it. I hope some other country will also make this even not in food, maybe as payment for gadgets or payment for any kind of service, etc. I think this big food delivery in Germany will be famous, will gain a profit and will be imitated.

Are there many Bitcoin users in Germany? This sounds really cool! Wish there was something like this in my country. How exactly is the Bitcoin payment process done? There are already a lot of merchants that are accepting bitcoin as payment in many parts of the world. However, for the common man, there's simply no added motivation to use bitcoin in their transactions. If these merchants create promos or a bit of buzz regarding bitcoin usage, it might help improve transaction counts. Things like discounts, rebates, giveaways, raffle prizes are some of the things that come to mind.

That is good news, it is the beginning of bitcoin to become better known among the people, and surely soon there will be many stores that use bitcoin for payment.
