Title: Obvious market slowdown - reboot when?
Post by: currypto on July 07, 2017, 12:55:47 PM
I heard that the market slows down during Summer for whatever reason. When do you think it'll come back? Late August?

the slow down has always been the sign of ending of all the pumps. so i don't expect it to start ever again until next year. and during all this time you can only expect random altcoin pumps sometimes, nothing too big and nothing too fancy though.

Time to start buying into ICOs for our pump and dump fix

There's no shortage of ICO's that offer altcoins specially ETH as investment. So I guess the pumping will continue as long as there is ICO. Maybe the slowness we experience now, (all coins seems red) are just temporary and will gain momentum after Aug 1. Its normal for investors to cash out and profit good. But they can't resist going back as soon as they find another coin to pump and dump for more profits.

You heard wrong. Masker escalated last 3 months. All volumes went crazy. It is impossible to expect that to keep on happening.

Yeah that's what others have been saying - what's "Masker" by the way?

Edit: I realize you probably mean Market.

Jeez I never have seen so many doom and gloom negative people before in my life. It's just a correction (a big one), and people are dumping to gain quick profits. Things will be back to green in a few days max. This happens pretty much every other week how has that not caught on yet?

I think the incoming segwit activation on august 1st (that's the right date, right? anyway, it's around that time) may have something to do with the market slowing down.

With BTC being the market maker for all the altcoins, people might decide to take their profits and watch the whole show from the sidelines. Others may decide, that holding Bitcoin during a possible hardfork may be a way to basically get a free share on a new chain…

There's lots of reasons to take profits right now, go to the sidelines, wait and see. Especially in a market, where basically everyone with half a brain (and who didn't get in it like three weeks ago) is sitting on huge paper profits.

Some may decide that with the incoming uncertainty, now is the right time to realize these profits.

It is just old school mentality versus new school mentality.

Every pump phase there are a lot of noobs that come in and think that the market will keep going up for forever, and buy anything and everything up at high prices.

Also, during that same phase, there are people that have been around for a while and seen a few huge pump phases followed by year+ long bear markets.

So far, after every pump phase there has been year+ bear markets. Until the market breaks this tendency, then I'd say the "doom and gloom" posters have a stronger foundation to their argument.

As one of the legendary member stated there is growth with certain ups and downs and stable growth. Always this won't be towards the increasing side. This needs to be understood and in the past too the growth has happened in the same manner. The normal growth happens as a cyclic process.

Correct. What we are seeing are just market corrections for me. Its just part of the cycle specially in crypto world. We are going to see this ups and downs but the most important thing is that is has continued growth in the future. Maybe noobs really thinks that crypto trading is a get rich quick scheme and late they found out that its not. And they are shaken once the price down and started to worried and just sell.

They thought they could get rich in an instant using bitcoin.
It's always happens actually, when they sees the price goes down they'll do panic selling.
as of now the prices is increasing real fast, but I think that it will lead to dumping.

The slowdown of any item is due to lower consumer demand. Desktops are slowing down as young people now use mostly smartphones, tablets, laptops, and so on. They are much more convenient to move from place to place and ensure features.

Little bump today. Should probably last until the weekend.

Reboot should be after segwit though

Yes, exactly. Aug 01 is obviously a big date for the forced fork, but July 21 and the Seg2x release comes before that.
Aug 01 is the deadline; if everyone goes with Seg2x over the next couple of weeks, we can forget about Aug 01 being a problem.  And if Seg adoption is going to fail, then that will likely become clear in advance of 01 Aug.

Yes, Aug 1 is really another milestone for bitcoin history. Everyone is has jitters about that date because of uncertainty. I also think that the real reboot would also come after date. Right now investors are just watching and not pushing the buy button. They want to see what Segwit2x can offer before making their move.

reboot when weak hands get a little shaken out and they see it going back up and rebuy again. Someone has to lose.
