I suggest you spend some time on choosing several potential icos, split you money into them . You'll get nice return if you  are lucky.

Every investment is under risk.What you can do is to make the risk as low as possible .
I also suggest you choose icos  yourself , when you choosing , you are growing in the crypto world.
For example , choose 6 icos, $1000 for each.Then just waiting, if you are lucky enough, you may easily get a 10X/20X return.

Just stay away from any ICO. ALL ICO's have unfair distribution, why participate in such a thing when there are plenty of working coins distributed fair.

Investing in ICO's is a very bad thing to do with that kind of money. Not investing that money into an ICO would mean that you would have money, if you lose that money in an ICO because the ICO failed then you were stressing for nothing as well.

Investing in an ICO is not that good for your health, you'd want to remain calm and invest in things instead of stressing on the little things.

You can split your funds to investing more type:
1. 20% for holding altcoin potential and old altcoin stable as LTC, XMR, DASH, ETH
2. 20% for new altcoin very potential can invest long-term or short-term as GAME, WAVES, MUSIC, DGB (this coin can waiting new lowest and buy later), LBC, XEM ...
3. 10% if you have "free time" to finding and follow some project ICOs, you can invest
4. 50% use trading everyday, need learning strategy and technical analysic can trading on crypto market, learning keep safe your funds and keep calm to face the storm breakdown, ...

Bitcoin, Monero, Ethereum are three of the well knowns that have been around for awhile that have things going on.  You could also make the argument for litecoin I guess (but I'm not going to).

I'm not advocating any of them.  Bitcoin & Monero generally avoid the "scam" label.  Ethereum is more controversial but arguably has more utility.

What you need to understand about the altcoin marketplace is that it's about dumping on noobs.  So you buy a super low prices, get people excited about a project then the holders dump on noobs.  It's been going on since the inception of alts.

If you must invest I'd probably put most of it in known semi legit options by whatever terms you decide on that have been around for awhile.  And if you insist on joining the "dump on the noobs" arena do it with a fraction of your capitol.

Also understand you're buying into a bull market.  Most alts have gone up at LEAST 10X in the last 12 months.  Bitcoin has gone up 10X in the last 24 months.  ICOs have become a mania.

10K bitcoin or $900 bitcoin by the end of the year wouldn't surprise me.

We all know the "all eggs in one basket" story, but there are a lot more things to consider. There are moments in which you should be "brave" and listen to your guts. :) I hardly like any concept of a coin/token/whatever, because most of them lack the most important thing - usage (i.e. people). BAT is on a whole different level (though I hate the way they raised funds). Just imagine how many of you are using... browsers? And at the time of my first reply here the price was 4050 satoshi, now BAT is at 4370. I gave my "investment advise", because I'm following the market very closely and BAT currently is a 99.99% sure "investment". My best guess is that you can make 20-50% profit over the next few days (it already gained ~10% in 2 hours), not to mention what might happen in a few months/years.

You are definitely a wise man, I will be following your tip as soon as I will have some bitcoins ;) !

6.5k USD is a big amount and everyone here suggests with their own point of view. You have to understand them and make up your mind by your own research. There are only few ICO's which are dependable and can give you profit in long run. If you know the basic of trading then look for potential coins in Bittrex and invest in them. Never buy only one coin, scatter your investment and try to maximize it. Its better to go for medium risk than to lose everything at once.

If I were you, I will invest in ripple, litecoin, bitshares, antshares and augur.

I would not at all do the same choices. I would rather invest in Ethereum, Ethereum Classic, ZCash and, like you pointed it out, Litecoin. I have only faith in ICOs and PoW coins.

While its not the most fun, I think buying and holding ETH is the way to go with 1/2 the money.  Use the other to find projects you think have potential.

Buy GUP, CFI, TRST now and you will be grateful later, regarding ICOs, if you managed to buy some tokens from CoinDash ICO before it is sold out, you are lucky.

You can't be farther from the truth. I started trading again in mid May after a long (probably close to 2 years) break. Sold part of one of my alts for 0.57 BTC (about $1000 at the time) and at the moment I'm sitting on about ~$7,000 worth of BAT (~$4,000, even at these prices), Aragon and SIA. Mind telling me how I can lose?

You see, I have a strategy when it comes to trading:

1. I'm always buying coins/tokens, which I "believe in"!
2. If I believe the given coin/token will worth a lot more in future, then I'm starting to accumulate. I'm putting (say) a 10-20% difference as a target (example: bought at 1000 satoshi and it reaches 1100-1200), then I'm starting to sell. Usually I go with 1/4 or 1/3 of my holdings. If I hold 1000 coins, I'm selling 250 at 1100 satoshi. Then if the price reaches 1300 - I'm selling another 250. If the price goes back from 1300 to (say) 1150, then I'm buying back with ALL the BTC I earned from the previous trade (at 1300). If there is some sudden dump to (say) 900 satoshi, I'm buying with the BTC I made from both these trades (at 1100 and 1300).

This way I can follow the waves relatively "safely" and my chances of losing aren't that big.

Jumping on me this way won't do you any good, because I may be everything, but when it comes to digital currencies (coins, scams, tradings (if you wish).. everything except the tech behind a certain coin (that's because I'd like to think as the average Joe and don't give a flying f*ck about the gimmicks and don't waste my time to research them)), then you are talking to a person from which you may learn a lot.

I've been here for long enough and I've seen more than you can imagine, so you may call me naive, or you may call out mining1 and Mindlesscache to help you "bashing" me with my haircut or profile picture, but this won't change the fact that THIS IS SPARTA!

P.S. BAT is now trading at 4500. More money "lost".

Cloud Mining is a nono, its risky

I would rather go POS if i wanted to do cloud mining which i pay for hashrate

So first - BAT was an ICO that raised 30 million in the first hour.  I tend to agree it's one of the only legit ICOs.  BUT

1.)  It's valued at 110 million which means original ICO purchases are already 4X in the green.

2.)  THIS is it's price chart.

3.)  It has gone down 10% today (maybe you are seeing upside down or something?)

Best option for me is Crypto Trading but for now at least wait for the 1st August and let the bloodbath finish which is going on from last few weeks and after the segwit then you can go on with crypto trading you can earn good amount of profit from trading but you need to learn it first properly if you play with your luck than more chances are of loss better to learn first than do good in trading and one more advice from me is that only trade with good coins which have good future and good development team and also a road map which will show how these coins will grow and only invest in those coins. Don't invest in Crap Coins.

Legit ICOs? I heard it was over in 5 monutes and is mainly owned by corporate whales.

Stick with your own mining setul and stay far away from cloud mining.  That shouldn't even be an option.

My own advice would be to invest in bitcoin and not these scammy icos, with which you're apt to lose money.  Frankly the crypto market is a bit overheated right now and it might be best to wait to invest that kind of money.

You can try to play on stock exchanges, but the Crypto currency is monopolized and regulated by the manipulator market, that there is 80% of what you lose your savings.
It is better to try to enter the waves as cheap as possible in bitkoyn and postpone it for a while, it will necessarily soar several times.

I think it's currently about 2.5 times over the ICO price, but this doesn't mean anything.

EDIT: And I think they raised $36 Million... in 20-30 seconds...

Some combination of bitcoin, litecoin, monero and ethereum. They are all legit and have their place in the cosmos. They all also have serious developer teams and strong communities.

Man maan you are totally wrong. I am actually using brawe browser and there is thausand of issues. Bat have a great team but they dont fix it. I also have some bats but i am already %60 down and its no sure when i will be back on my profit at the begining. And the most important one i am reading the comments about get paid by watching ads, guess what nobody gives a fck on it!!! I am going to sell all my bats as soon as the price go little bit higher and already not using brave anymore and i am getting to delete it for ever so please be carefull when u say %99.9 about sth on crypto world. Am I? That's the main problem with people nowadays - you "can't easily have them". If now some guy like John Atanasoff comes to you with a basketball court sized machine and tells you: "This is a Time machine", you won't believe him, until it is shaped as a laptop, or an IPhone with a shiny bitten apple on the back.  I asked one simple question:


Some may say IE is shitty, others Chrome, Mozilla, Tor etc... you'll hear millions of opinions, but guess what? It really doesn't matter what they say, because all of them have its huge market niche. How about the ads market?

We Bulgarians like to say that there's no need to invent the hot water. All you need is to work for you (whatever you're trying to start). And if you don't see the potential here, well... nothing I can do about it.

P.S. I can agree with these 99.9% I mentioned, but that's probably because I hardly see BAT to fail any further. Their main problem is... Ethereum. I am sure that they will reach a lot of their goals, so yes, it may not work as they are planning, but they have a potential... a big one. And isn't all because of this after all? Potential? I'm sorry that this is not the ICO, which made a 15000% ROI in 2 weeks, but the way I see it is a bit different.

split your fund with several kind of coins and don't ever putting your money only for one basket to avoid huge loss if you're had wrong step however i suggest 50% for bitcoin and 50% for altcoins or if you have good knowledge for trading and had good results during your trading activities maybe you can spend 50% from total of your funds for trading capital

If you don't want to do all the work on finding trading opportunities or mining why not invest in a fund that does the work for you? For example iconomi or taas or there is DDF with an ICO coming up on Monday.

DDF looks promising, Im dropping some ether there monday.

I'll tell you what I did with 7000€ Approx. 3 BTC worse of cryptos (I started knowing/investing in BTC and others in october 2016 with 700€. I had x10 my stack in june 14th 2017 and I could have done better)  8)

As you said. Not all your eggs in the same basket. I think this too and I have already other baskets than cryptos.
So I'll keep everything in that basket and try to make it grow. With so many stuff it is hard, and I sure had a lot of luck within my good choices.

But at the same time you think doing the same 9 month would result in 70000€. You think about that king of stuff when you did it once...  ;D

But after a long reflexion I went for the secure long term investment on june 14th.

I took 2.25 BTC and invested it into 1 Asic L3+ (September Batch) 1 Asic S9 (August Batch) and 2335 Giga Watt Tokens.
Giga Watt in Seattle USA will be hosting my miners at an incredibly low electricity rate.
I wanted to do it but it is kind of hard here in France and you need time, knowledge, and place etc... and I never wanted to invest in cloud mining type genesis or other scams and I never did.

I have now only 0,75 BTC worse of cryptos to manage and I am trying to do the same as I did the first time. x10 this stack. But from the end of the summer I'll be on top of that receiving some BTC and then in september some LTC everyday.

Time will tell if I did a good choice. I am happy with it. I am a true beginner in this world and it is only worse 700€.  :P

This is probably the best advice here. Diversify, diversify, the most important lesson for anyone. Invest a little in trading, a little in holding potential alts, and a little in trading. Only, not 50% in trading. I would even keep 20% just as a HOLD for Bitcoin. and 5% to education (buy stuff to learn).

I do go with PoS or Masternode coins. There s no point betting only on price jump. The point is to have MORE coins and sell them at the higher price.

So, I recommend DMD Diamond, it has brought me nothing but profits.

I think you are not a newbie when it comes to investing, all your plans are ok and profitable you just have to widen your options like doing a good research on long term coins, coins that are in the top 20 are sure to make a profit butt  they are long term investment I suggest you split your investment to short and long term investment.

Really, with investi in ico the gains get bigger, but you have to be more careful in choosing ico. The greater the percentage of profits gained the greater the risk that will arise. Better if you know more about the investment that you follow

Not all the coins or atlcoins who undergo in ICO and got sold out are a good coin because there is a chance that they are just hyped altcoins and after the launch in the market then they will start to dump on its price and it is all depends on the team if they will try their best to maintain its price or not.

Yes thats true not all altcoins are worth investing of our money. Before investing make a search first on what coins to invest that we can get profit later on. Same as in ICO do some research that after an ICO it will have an exchange and will gives bigimpact to investors.

If i am you, i will buy some eth, you will find now all ico are using eth, in the future i believe it will increase, so you can buy some of it.

My only advice, invest in small fractions($100-$500).Do not put your all eggs in one bucket.If you want to invest in new coin projects,you need to search about that project and take decision with good money management/risk management rules.Your money is yours till its in your hand.Risk is every where but we can manage risk to win.
