Title: What do you think President Trump should do about North Korea?
Post by: squatz1 on July 08, 2017, 08:04:18 PM
We've got tons and tons of news coming out of the meeting with Trump and Japan, Trump and China but they still seem to not be able to get a plan going on what to do about Kim Jong Un in North Korea. Would anyone here like to share some knowledge on what they think should be done to stop him or at least cripple his country and force him to retire?

Here's the news article from CNN - http://www.cnn.com/2017/07/08/politics/north-korea-trump-xi/index.html

I always say that the US should not be meddling in the affairs of other countries but I will support a move to overthrow Kim Jong Un, he is an unstable little tyrant who has access to Nuclear weapons he should definitely go.

North Korea is a global force to be reckoned with. Despite all of the western propaganda which tries to make it seem like just a weak, poor and incapable nation - it is strong with one of the largest military in the world as well as nuclear weapons.

Given that a sane North Korea would never initiate war with the US (especially with Trump as president), I as president would not worry too much about it personally.

That is how I see it too.

A lot of people need to look at it from the view of "holy shit this insane guy has nukes and could use them on China/South Korea and kill hundreds of millions". That and Iran should be targeted. The more countries that get nuclear weapons who are hostile towards the west the worse off we get. They might want to use their weapons whereas we don't want to use it again unless we have to.

If they all truly believe that killing westerners is a good thing then they should be overthrown.

Just bomb the hell out of Kim Jong Un. China won't retaliate, they may just take over the bombed-out country.

Nothing?

I don't see how NK is posing a threat to the world. They are isolated from the world and living in peace by themselves. Why should USA deal with NK in the first place? Is it because they own Nuclear? So does Russia. That can't be the reason. If NK ever decides to use that Nuke, so can USA.

NK is being used as a distraction. USA wants fuck up NK to show the world that they are still the boss. They might fail this time though.

Think how many innocent, brainwashed, and scared shitless Koreans would die in the process. Trump doesn't want to be labeled a mass murderer. The best option would be to assassinate Kim or wait until he's debating with his military advisors and heads of the communist party and take them all out with one missile, preferably launched from orbit, so they don't have time to react. I think it would be worth sending an armed space shuttle for the sole purpose of removing that tyrant.

I think they both should calm down and organize an officiel meeting to make peace because a war between two great countries like America and North Korea will litterly destroy the world economically! In my opinion all this controversy shows that they both lack of experience in politics!

That would be the best thing to do, with South Korea and Japan expressing little interest in starting confrontations with the DPRK. But I doubt whether Trump will have the balls to do that, given the fact that the US congressmen are extremely aggressive about North Korea.

That would never happen, the guy enslaves his entire country. Go watch some of the films sometime they smuggle out of North Korea, hundreds of people on streets in every block living like peasants and starving to death.

You think the Kim cares about his people dying in a war?

The people are not starving to death, and the situation has improved a bit since the 1990s. That is why Kim Jong Un is able to remain in power, despite his lunatic policies. He has given attention to the agricultural production, and this has enabled them to prevent starvation deaths there. But a large part of the population still remains malnutritioned.

Even though I don't think Kim Jong Un would not be agree for peace but it's worth a try. Pointing missiles will only make the enemy intimidate. Obama administration was better in handling these situations.

In general, I think America has much better things to do other than caring about North Korea's empty threat. They're gonna get tired eventually. There are still many homeless in America, maybe a focus in the infrastructure could bring something much better for the country. This is just my opinion.

Since sanctions, talks and world condemnation don't seem to have an effect, all Trump and the world can really do is to be prepared to respond if there is an attack.

You look closely at the footage from North Korea where ordinary people treat Kim Jong UN like a God. They support him and so fully share the responsibility. I do not pity them even if they will be bombed by the Americans.

Hitler was being treated like a God by the Germans too but nobody had any thoughts of nuking Germany. That's not how you deal with dictators. Those people have no choice. If they declare their real opinions about Kim, you know what will happen.

If you were living in NK, you would be treating Kim as a god too. Trust me.

I think Trump should not bother with NK .
It has been said that people in NK has a very high satisfaction.
We knew they have brainwashed..
We knew that when they are given the chance to live in countries like China or South Korea , they get culture shocked to the point that they want to go home to their own country.

Well thats just how they are..
Brainwashed people contented with their lives.
So
Dont mind their hardships.
I dont know if I sound humane.
But they are already happy enough.

So screw human rights.
Leave them alone.
We cant change them anymore.

They certainly did.  America went as far as to drop two nuclear bombs on Japan, so it's not like they were terrified of using nuclear bombs on their opposition.  I do see the point that you're trying to make, but you need to be more careful with what you're saying.

I've been to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, and I can tell you that the nuclear bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki were absolutely fucking brutal.  Thousands of innocent civilians slaughtered and left to slow painful deaths over many years.  There was a man found with shards of glass deep in his body, many years later.

Mutually Assured Destruction is not the ideal system, but if it's going to happen then it has to fully happen.  If one country has nuclear weapons, all of them should be allowed to have them.

If all of the countries with nuclear weapons can sign a peace treaty and simultaneously agree to abandon all of their nuclear weapons, then that is what should happen - but as long as America has many, many nuclear weapons, it should not be considered a problem for North Korea to have them too.

Mortals, always using force to change things. Two closed-minded persons just can't force the other to do something they don't want to.

There is a slight difference between NK/Nazi Germany and Japan though.

Japan wasn't being ruled by a dictator back then. They got nuked because they were winning the war. And you know what? They were winning fair and square. Japs didn't have nukes... All they had tanks, planes, guns etc and they were winning... till USA made her fag move.

Actually you are right, maybe USA would have nuked Germans too If Germans had any chances of winning...

I still don't understand why NK is so dangerous to be honest and why USA should interfere. Do they really think NK would use their nuclear on USA as soon as they can?? Russia can do it too, but they don't. Because common sense. What makes them think NK can do?? Kim might be a psycho but not that much. C'mon.

I think trumps going to say or do something drastic that will cause a war.

And I think that the real surprise will be the other country's that attack back that may be on the side lines.

Bombing a country is not as simple as you think, especially if the recipient nation is having nuclear weapons in its arsenal. There are going to be consequences. Millions of people are going to die and there is a possibility of a nuclear war breaking out.

US should stay away from the conflict and stop bothering NK. It is very hard to change them because NK has a different mentality and laws and will never understand US politics.

Do the same thing every other president did in the history. Do nothing.
