Stop selling high amounts of assets at one time you're just halting the market and losing you're own money as well as as everyone else's. And you're destroying the economy for whatever coin you're doing it to.

Maybe they want to halt the market? Some people are willing to lose a bit of money to get a quick sale and cause problems for others. Maybe they've already earned enough profit that they don't really care what happens.
