Title: I'm confused about P2Pool Post by: ilostcoins on May 10, 2013, 02:25:35 PM Looking at P2Pool.org, it seems like I can use it just like any other pool and wallet address as username. However, I seem to remember people need to run some kind of software, daemon or whatever and go through a number of steps to use p2pool.
Is it because things have changed? Thanks. :) Title: Re: I'm confused about P2Pool Post by: AzureEngineer on May 10, 2013, 02:46:20 PM I think you're referring to people running P2Pool nodes. If you want to mine using P2Pool, just use the site's instructions available at P2Pool.org.

Title: Re: I'm confused about P2Pool Post by: Gabi on May 10, 2013, 03:50:31 PM p2pool.org is a pool based on p2pool. It is not p2pool itself.
To mine in p2pool yes, you have to download p2pool and run it. Wich is a good idea since there is a 2% fee on p2pool.org. But it need a bit of work, you will have to run both the bitcoin-qt client and p2pool client. |
