Title: Re: . Post by: cryptoheadd on July 09, 2017, 01:25:40 PM Woaah. Crazy to see one of these up for auction.
Isn't the starting bid high, though? IIRC Coblee is selling his for 14 BTC. :) Watching.. :D Title: Re: . Post by: TheNewAnon135246 on July 09, 2017, 02:02:13 PM I agree with cryptoheadd, the starting bid seems a bit high. Coblee offered his for sale on March 3rd for 14 BTC (@1,290). The BTC price has doubled since. Regardless what the starting price is, this coin is extremely sexy and probably one of the rarest coins available!
Title: Re: . Post by: wheelz1200 on July 09, 2017, 02:04:18 PM Wow the mecca of coins for me. Too bad i dont have the btc to bid although it does seem high but these arent readily available. Good luck on the auction and will gladly watch from the sidelines.
Title: Re: . Post by: hybridsole on July 09, 2017, 02:10:11 PM It's very cool to see one of these go on the open market. I have a feeling that the starting bid is not out of reach to the people wanting to buy this coin. I'll be watching this one for sure.
Title: Re: . Post by: chronicsky on July 09, 2017, 03:16:12 PM wow! that's a beauty :D
There are many scratch marks showing in the picture. are those on the airtite or coin itself? Title: Re: . Post by: Lincoln6Echo on July 09, 2017, 08:19:26 PM the ultimate cas coin! :o
Unfortunatly the starting bid is a bit high imho. How should poor doggie ever efford this? :'( Title: Re: . Post by: Otoh on July 09, 2017, 09:50:46 PM watching
Title: Re: . Post by: coblee on July 10, 2017, 12:52:02 AM Dig deep and get your bit-korn wallets open kids because we have a very rare Casascius coin up for auction. We present a 1000BTC Casascius gold coin. :o Here is the thread that Charlie Lee (coblee) made a while back: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1812466 And here is his reddit thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/5lvjjr/check_out_my_casascius_1000btc_gold_coins/ I'm not sure where you got these images from. I was in chat with another person on this forum to sell this coin to him for 6 BTC. I can only assume you are that person or plan to get the coin from that person. Since he hasn't confirmed and has not paid for it yet, I have already sold this exact coin to someone else. So there's pretty much no way you will get this exact coin to auction off. And auctioning it for starting bid of 15 BTC is a bit high, don't you think? Title: Re: . He teased exactly this what a week or two ago? Title: Re: . Post by: Quickseller on July 10, 2017, 02:23:55 AM This is now the 3rd auction that MinerJones has hosted that he has not honored. I think a bit more due diligence on the part of MJ is in order before he lists coins for sale.
Have generally accepted community standards changed so that it is an acceptable practice for sellers to back out of auctions? In the past users have been labeled a scammer for this kind of activity. Fair criticism. If MJ is going to be trusted to proxy these deals, I would hope for a little more proactive role to prevent "oops seller backed out" or "oops seller didn't actually have this thing for sale". You can do better than this, Miner. It hurts your rep Title: Re: . Post by: Fattcatt on July 10, 2017, 03:33:26 AM Well, if this were Ebay all the seller would have to do is click CANCEL. And as far as I know, even as Americans, we can still not control other people...as MUCH as we would like to. SHIT HAPPENS, get over it.

I have a cas coin I'd like to sell you for $10000. But I know you wont pay so I'll waste a week opening a case with ebay to refund me fees so I can list it again for $10000! Title: Re: . Post by: TookDk on July 10, 2017, 08:38:39 AM @MJ I have a small suggestion; in the future I suggest that you are more open about when you auction an item on commission. Obviously selling an item for another person is perfectly ok, just be transparent.
If I was bidding (based on the text in OP) then would I expect you to have the coin in hand and ready to ship after payment. In this case was the coin not even in possession of your client, which is a problem. In my opinion, this does matter a great deal when trading with high value items, since there is a decent amount of risk involved in shipping/handling. For me is there a big different getting the coin directly from you compared to a 3rd party I do not know. You have a well respected distribution service, so just be open about the sourcing, then is all cool. Cheers :) Title: Re: . Post by: TookDk on July 10, 2017, 12:28:09 PM Thanks for all the suggestions Future auctions will be clear and concise to prevent any miscommunication or dubious practices. I still have not received an answer from the "owner".... Maybe they will post here and clear this up. -MJ I would also like the "owner" to clear this up and explain how he can sell a coin he does not own, not to mention a justification of the huge markup, seams a bit unethical to me. I hope the seller is not someone I have in on my trust list... Title: Re: . Post by: TwinWinNerD on July 10, 2017, 03:04:59 PM @minerjones, the guy lied. "Here are the picture I took last night". How can he take pictures if he doesn't own the coin.
You got bamboozled Title: Re: . Post by: coblee on July 10, 2017, 03:26:43 PM @minerjones, the guy lied. "Here are the picture I took last night". How can he take pictures if he doesn't own the coin. Yeah, and then the user claimed that he made the pics himself. Maybe MJ needs to request timestamped pics + username in the future if he accepts 3rd party auctions. Title: Re: . Post by: coblee on July 10, 2017, 06:51:04 PM I won't be selling any coins to realediston. I don't like greedy liars. I still have a few coins left and might do an auction myself.

I think there are plenty of people looking for one of these (not to happy with Otoh lurking here ;D). Title: Re: . Post by: Zepher on July 10, 2017, 08:00:31 PM Wow, this looks like a giant mess. That is an atrocious mark up, from 6 BTC to 15 BTC, as just a starting bid..?! Everyone likes to make money on their deals, but this was a step too far. Pure and utter greed.
Title: Re: . Post by: Fattcatt on July 10, 2017, 09:18:11 PM We've all had things happen that were completely out of our control, I personally would actually call Minerjones the victim here......live and learn, gentlemen. :-\
