Title: Improving Posts for Newbies
Post by: neon_colors01 on July 09, 2017, 03:50:27 PM
Hi guys,
I'm jr member now but certainly still a newbie..

I'm just wondering how people especially those who have high ranks do those posts that have bold letters, italics, underline.
I also see them post images, graphs..
it's helpful to have visual image and not just plain texts.. (Like this)

I know it's just those icons above and I haven't tried yet because my post might get considered spam

LikeBOLD IDK JUST trying if it works
http://image?wait what im just working this on a phone

Can i have links for those who have posts related to this? It would be a great help. I can't find it.

Here you can find most answeres to your questions: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178608.0

Posting images, avatar, signature restrictionas - everything depends mostly on rank -> rank from activity points -> activity points from time + amount of your posts.

Thank you sir it's has been informative.
But what I meant is how to improve our post's quality.

By applying images and graphs to the posts etc.
I believe it's those icons when we reply.
E.g
bolditalicunderlinecolorred

Something like this
I dont know how to put graphs or images
Is there any link to it?
If you have it's a big help!

Almost all options you have in icons over window where you write text. Under icon that you change italic is icon with something like picture :) this button will help you to paste images, but i think that to be allowed to do that you must have higher rank..

If you are using a PC, you might want to try your arrow cursor hover over the little boxes above the reply box which will show a certain text of what those are. You can discover a lot of new things by doing so and add some fancy to your post. Only use it when it is necessary.

I think you better stick to what is normal here. There are several options here but look at those who have higher ranks. They do not use such features. I think they will be used only to emphasize something or for some other important purposes. Other than that, these are just disturbances, irrelevant ones.

The editor is most common one like any other forum or website. You can rest one by one and check it in preview to see how it'll look. If you're a newbie on the internet then try making a blog using Gmail, it'll let you learn lots of things.

It's all based on bulletin board (BB) code. This forum doesn't allow for all the code that exists but they do accommodate most of it. Once you know the code you can do all sorts of tricks with your writing...or your signature!

Here's a link to a beginner's site for BB code: https://www.phpbb.com/community/help/bbcode (https://www.phpbb.com/community/help/bbcode)

Above the area where you type your post (called the textbox), you will see various buttons you can use to alter your post and generally make it look better.

The most common would be bold, italic and underline (which is why they are the first 3 options).

I usually edit only important posts which need it, otherwise for general posting & replies I just personally use regular font.

This is a great help to a newbie :) Thank you for posting and sharing. I think it's worth noting though that many of the features you're looking for are handily placed int he top of the posting box for me :) maybe it's a chrome browser thing or simply standard? Anyways, hope this helps.
