Title: What is the best source site of UASF BIP 148 full node client exe?
Post by: antonioarduini on July 10, 2017, 05:37:48 PM
bitcoinuasf.org has been supported by core devs like Lombrozo and Luke.

uasf.co has been supported by investors like Trace Mayer and Rodolfo Novak.

Are the softwares from these two sources different?

Thank you

Can you download them and then do sha256sum on them?  That will answer your question definitively (at the level of bitwise difference between your downloaded binaries).

No, they are not different; they are the same. The "official" UASF binaries can be found here: https://github.com/UASF/bitcoin/releases (and these are the ones linked to from other places).

The best and safest way is to go to the github directly and get it built by yourself on your computer, but the executable on bitcoinuasf have been approved by Luke Jr and Wladimir with their signatures so they are safe to download and just run, but if you are paranoid about man in the middle attacks, then just build the binaries yourself.
