Title: ~arklan US group-buy "Slacker's Wall of Shame"
Post by: tvbcof on May 10, 2013, 07:52:18 PM

I'm participating in this group-buy for USB miner sticks:

  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=195052.0

The buy is now closed and everyone would like to move on.  An amazingly high percentage of participants have paid, but there are some slackers.  These people need to put there money where their mouth is so they don't slow the process down for everyone else involved.  Obviously nobody wants to have any delays in obtaining these devices and getting them hashing.  Chop Chop people!

The organizer keeps a public spreadsheet and seems to keep it nicely up to date.  Here is a formula which shows who the slackers are:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/tq?tqx=out:html&tq=select+A,B+where+D+%3D+''+&key=0AjCZrDbAiz_PdE4tbDR3X3owMHNMb1NyekJGWHN4QlE#gid=0 (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/tq?tqx=out:html&tq=select+A,B+where+D+%3D+''+&key=0AjCZrDbAiz_PdE4tbDR3X3owMHNMb1NyekJGWHN4QlE#gid=0)

A permutation for unix or cygwin might look like this:

Code:
wget -qO- --no-check-certificate "https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/tq?tqx=out:csv&tq=select A,B where D = '' &key=0AjCZrDbAiz_PdE4tbDR3X3owMHNMb1NyekJGWHN4QlE#gid=0"

Some people who have not been on this forum for a while may not realize or remember to look at the 'MY MESSAGES' thing on the blue bar up top there.  If it has a '[n]' by it, it means you have {n} unread messages.  If you do, please read them!

The organizer did not ask me to post this, and my not even agree that I should do so.  Nor do I personally really care about getting my single device at a high priority.  A lot of people are going totally ape-shit about it though.

One of the things which induced me to produce this OP is that many people do not realize that spreadsheets can be queried like this.  Publically accessible spreadsheets are enormously useful for coordinated projects.  The more people who realize that they can be dynamically queried, the more likely it is that the spreadsheets will be structured to make it more easy to do.

My formula above inaccurately pulls the bottom line which gives a misleading result.  It also leave out a slacker from 'NZ' because I didn't feel like trying to work out a text string match for 'payment' so I simply looked for a blank entry in one column.

Cool link.
Did not even know things like that where possible with Google docs.
