I think it's likely that several of them may rival Bitcoin but I happen to believe that Bitcoin will remain the trusted leader indefinitely due to the longevity it has proven amongst other things.

There are plenty that are more expensive per unit. But almost without fail it's a stupid gimmick. I suggest you go all in on 42 coin. But before you do take into account the total number of units.

It's possible that none will ever be more valuable but there are a few that are starting to be worth more than $200. Both Etherium and Zcash have been above $200. Dash has either been above $200 or close to it. Those three right now appear to have the best chance to overtake bitcoin.

For now like other said its impossible to happen since the price of bitcoin is huge price we are just experience of drop these days but its just a normal we will see that the price of bitcoin can be increase more.
Altcoin will be just increase next to him and never replace.. look at the big success of bitcoin if you seen almost all company online are accepting bitcoin as payment that i think it can be stay long and bitcoin can grow normally..

You can see the primalbase token that shit already worth more than 3 BTC for each token that looks rather odd for me for the unknown token valued at a lot of bitcoin. People are so greedy to flip the money into the shit one.

No other eth and also i gues ltc also this 2 coins iwill guess is the 2nd and third for the best investment in the market iguess no doubt about that i guess they already make there coin trusted in the sense that the price was continue pumping in a higher price in th market.

None of those altcoin will be going more expensive than bitcoin even in the near future. If the price of btc will go up or down, the same thing will happen on them. They will just follow the movement of father of all crypto. It's like btc is the foundation.

As it stands, the only currency with any potential to surpass the price of Bitcoin at the moment would be Ethereum. Ethereum is backed by Microsoft (at least I believe that to be the case) which means you can bet the technology and support behind it are both world class and reliable, which has been the downfall for most other alternate cryptos in the past.

With this said, it is highly unlikely that Ethereum will overtake Bitcoin anytime soon. However, it does have a small chance for sure.

there is lot of that kind of crypto, but yeah just another greedy people creation, if i'm not wrong the name of that coin is BillionCoin or something like that  :D but yeah lot of people just got their trap, what a shame  :-[

Depends on if there is a significant change in value due to forking or other related issues.
Otherwise no currencies are going to surpass Bitcoin price wise in the near future, perhaps marketcap but that is debatable as the alt-market cap is stabilizing after the bubbles along with Bitcoin.

there have already been a couple of altcoins that had a price higher than 1 bitcoin. i can only remember 1 at the moment called ZCash which started at 6-7 BTC price (1 ZEC = 7 BTC) but none of them last ever. now ZEC is 0.07BTC and falling. because the only thing that can keep their prices up is the demand and since they have no real demand they always fall when speculators (the only demand they have) exit.

to answer your main question, any coin that is invented in the future to perform as a currency not as a way to get rich of with premine and ICO, and also solves a couple of problems can become bigger than bitcoin and have higher prices. but that coin is not yet invented.

nothing can stay valuable than bitcoin OP as bitcoin already gather main stream attentions and  lots of crypto supporters even eth which we think that will possibly go along the way is falling right now together with eth and xmr all of them are nothing compared with btc, every alts are now falling alongside with btc but they are still relying with btc value.

its likely no other other coin will be valued as high as bit coin in a near future. Etherum and Waves looks very promising since i started monitoring their progress as well as dash. but overtaking the pioneer will require the snatch of investers to your end by bringing new products and services. I believe that it will take a long time and a miracle for any coin to overtake bitcoin in terms of value. This is because the current gap between bitcoin and other coins is too wide and what ever will make bitcoin to fluctuate downward will equally affect other coins.

Where do you see Ripple be standing next year? Do you think it will reach $1 any time soon?

as far as i know , theres no other crypto currency that is more expensive than bitcoin , but i think in alternative coins , etherium is the most expensive among all altcoins , altcoin signature campaign is the best than bitcoin campaigns

No such coin in the near future. But crypto currencies is quite unpredictable.

if you ask something about "more expensive than bitcoin" That would be a very difficult question, since no one has been able to compete with the price of bitcoin itself, some have tried to compete with bitcoins, but they have failed. Even altcoin which is called as the future of altcoin (Ethereum) the price is still very far below the bitcoin.

I have encountered an article that says Ethereum might surpass bitcoin in the very near future like it will happen in 2018.  Ethereum's  had a big crash due to hacking last June but they are now on their way of having a big come back. Big companies like  JPMorgan Chase, Microsoft, Intel and others are said to work together to develop more secured and systematic altcoins. If this is true, it might surpass bitcoin. Aside from ethereum, other altcoins like  Ripple, Dash, Monero and many more are rising up. Each Cryptocurrency has special features that made them unique and  that made investors become more interested.

I dont think any other crypto currency will overtake biutcoin because bitcoin is father of all crypto currency even some overtake it may for some time till now i dint see good potential apart from Ethereum and Waves.

I think ethereum will become much more expensive than bitcoin in the near future because of its features and also the possibilities to take over the whole altcoin market because it has smart contracts which can make the price of ethereum unstoppable from pumping because of the continuous demand in the market.

As long as bitcoin stays they cannot take over the price of it.
Maybe by bringing down bitcoin could do it. Which is also impossible now considering there are too many supporters. A lot had happened ups and downs with bitcoin but still no alts could be higher than its price.

Due to the number of alts now ,they are different in usage and they have specified importance that makes btc still in value since alta were intp portions and bitcoin alone can do almost all their roles yet they can do more best on their specific task.

The closest that could surpass bitcoin in terms of value would be ethereum at the moment but i think it's unlikely that Ethereum would able to surpass bitcoin at the moment and also ripple can be a candidate because ripple had the 3rd largest cryptocurrency in cryptomarket and many speculated that ripple is a great coin i don't know main reason why but still i will consider it as a candidate.

I dont think any one of the altcoins will supersede bitcoins in terms of prices. But maybe in the future, probably the far future and we're looking at 10+ years probably before bitcoin can be surpassed by another altcoin. Also, this would happen if bitcoin does get compromised like when a super computer would be able to generate private keys of any given address.

It seems there is no more expensive altcoin than bitcoin. Maybe in the future there is altcoin that cost more than bitcoin. hopefully.

There will be no crypto currency value more than bitcoin out of 900+ coins some are really currency rest all are like shares or tokens.

I think cryptocurrency will never expensive than bitcoin, simple explanation because bitcoin is mother coin. Bitcoin is still favorite on real altcoin market even the price going down and has little volume. Cryptocurrency only follow bitcoin and never pass it. Besides that, if you see a lot group make bitcoin as their topic, not cryptocurrency. Never lost faith with bitcoin and good luck.

Why does it even matter? We have already seen a coin worth more. Price per coin doesn't mean much. One can do very hard and invest a lot of money to beat btc in this aspect. Nevertheless, it will not change the market and make btc less popular. What matters is market capitalization and volume traded every day. In these respects ethereum is so far the closest one but it is hardly imaginable it will really beat bitcoin.

due to the psychology behind bitcoin, it will "never" happen. (never say never, but its unlikely, unless a catastrophe happens with bitcoin)

bitcoin = money vault (not to be used for small and insignificant transactions)
alt coins = free for all (smaller value/smaller transactions/lower costs)

For very long time nothing will be more expencive than btc.Long time ago was 99coin only 99 coin,but price was like 0.5 btc for very short time typical shitcoin

The price is not important because I have seen many coins that are expensive than bitcoin. I think the marketcap is more important because it reflects the true value of a coin. As you can see, byteball has both good price and good marketcap and I believe that it will soon expensive than bitcoin

The price of one unit of a ctyptocurrency does not matter. Right now there are some coins listed on coinmarketcap that are more expensive than bitcoin. As an example one CHAO costs about 44 BTC and the funny thing is, market cap is only 11 BTC. Another example is Project-X which costs 138 BTC.

Nobody really knows what will happen after August 1st. I hope bitcoin will stay king, because it's the only name the mainstream people know. very interesting.

Bitcoin should survive because there’s a bunch of guys and girls that are in Bitcoin right now and they don’t want to lose their money on it. The price of Bitcoin could go up because there’s usually news like this happening every year that leads people into worrying about the price of Bitcoin so the coin could get a small dump then the price goes up while the new and old players try to buy back into the coin.

It's true I had not noticed,in that case the one who asked the question did not do it correctly,but I think he was referring more to total Market Cap,and some think that ETH might do that eventually,since for example now ETH has half of the Market Cap of BTC,I really do not know if that is possible to achieve but that is what some believe,and so far that is the closest to been to BTC,I do not remember any other that was so close to that value.

The answer will be none, when an alt coin ICO, price maybe can surpassed Bitcoin, and usually a coin with a price higher than Bitcoin won't stay too long, last time zcash price ever going over Bitcoin, but because nobody really interested now the price already below bitcoin

Exactly. Altcoin can't surpass Bitcoin's price and this is a silly question tbh because all altcoin's price determined by Bitcoin so if Bitcoin became weak, automatically altcoin's price got dumped as well. Bitcoin will be the only one coin has expensive price ever.

when you say expensive only one thing comes to my mind - Sustainable! That's very important for any coin to last long, which can only happen by continuous improvement, easy adoption and new technology.

Once the coin is sustainable people will definitely start trading and dealing in them. You never know even a new comer can shake the ground off bitcoin

Bitcoin is unpredictable. From the people that were in Bitcoin long ago, there was a time when people thought that Bitcoin was going to be the only Digital Currency that was going to be against the regular Currencies of the world. Once people find that Bitcoin is going to have an enormous pump from the new people going into the coin the price will bring in even more people into Bitcoin so they could get somewhat rich.

i don't think there is a coin that will overpass in bitcoins .Like now if you see the market they are all affected in bitcoins nearly segwit . More than on it bitcoins is widely used, known and adopted by some of the countries with that even the second largest coin or Eth will be hard to pbe expensive as bitcoin in the future .

For me, I think no other cryptocurrency will be more expensive it is still bitcoin itself. I think bitcoin will still be on top of all cryptocurrency as this is become growing daily. Even dump happen it will increase its price eventually.

Actualy there are already tokens and coins that a lot more expensive than bitcoin just a few days ago i recieve my primalbase token and the ICO price is 1 primalbase token into 5 bitcoin in short 1 PBT for 5 BTC but the max total of this token is only 1000 total token unlike bitcoin is 21 milion but obcourse bitcoin is the most famous of all cryptocurrency he is the father of all.

What ever the price of the Altcoin ICO may be but when it gets listed it will show the real value and in long term you cannot expect the same price if it got real value then only it will rise if not it will become pump and dump coin. Bitcoin is the only coin which will be survived in long term and no other altcoin will be nearing it.

Altcoin will continue to grow in popularity. Remember that altcoin's success is also visible from road maps and real businesses that they run, so it's not always talking about whales in the trade market. This is called generic growth where the stock is only a long-term dividend.

It is a completely big question to all the people who love cryptocurrency because cryptos are unpredictable. I think bitcoin is only one currency which will become more expensive but after that, there is a chance for Ethereum.

But also many icos are tied for bitcoin, you can't buy or sell them for other coin or fiat seerency. I think that many alts will rise and grow in popularity too, but l don't think that some alt can come close to bitcoin any time soon. With current acceptance all over the world bitcoin is changing the way how people think about money, governments are discussing about bitcoin, banks are investigating blockchain and bitcoin, all other altcoins need a lot of work to come where bitcoin is now, but for sure they will have easier job cause they are following the road that bitcoin already made.
ETH is first in price after bitcoin, and I'm sure that we will see some other altcoins that will coat a lot and join this race for the first place, just that will start to happen after 2020.

I think there is no crypto currency that can surpass the value of a bitcoin. Bitcoin showed possible outcomes in this crypto world, it has scaling problems, and as ethereum dapps are created in the gambling space , that market cap will be added to ethereums.
That's just gambling. What about others? a lot more capital has to be pumped in to the cryptocurrency system.

If history is any indicator, not every pioneer in a field would be the one to reap the benefits of large scale adoption. Usually the innovator is the one taking the risks, educating the public, but then a competitor with a better business plan comes along and leaves the innovator in the dust.

I think Ethereum is trying to do this with bitcoin, but I don't think it would succeed. The full potential of the crypto space has yet to be revealed, and maybe one of the businesses that used ICO's to fund themselves will provide a better solution to tackle word's problems. We shall wait and see.

But BTC and ETH fill different roles and are not meant to be mutually exclusive.

By value, I hope that people here a discussing about the whole value of Bitcoin from everything to the price and the daily volume of the coin. There's quite a few coins that is worth more than Bitcoin though they don't have a whole value where it would turn heads when compared to Bitcoin.

Litecoin and Ethereum is the only two competitors that could rival against the whole value of a Bitcoin, we'll notice more competition in the near future.

There might be a coin that gets more expensive than Bitcoin though the price of that coin shouldn’t last that long because Bitcoin should have more people interested in it that the other coin. If a coin does get more expensive and has the hype to make it to the very first spot within the Coinmarketcap website then that coin will only stay there for a little bit because people will try to post FUD within their Announcement thread so the price will dump.

That is irrelevant the most important thing is the market cap, you could create a coin with only 10 units and if you raise 50000 dollars then each coin will have a value of 5000 each which is more than double the price of bitcoin.

Many Coins think that being more expensive than BTC is a good thing.

They are wrong , having a coin that is that high per cost means you lost the micropayment industry and your transaction fees are insane, which will decrease your utility usage.

For now, i do not see any crypto currency that will be more expensive than Bitcoin. However the crypto world is full of surprise, we might see one in the future.  ;)

Bitcoin is the pioneer in crypto currencies.Its hard for any coin to be more expensive than bitcoin.Since bitcoin is pseudo anonymous,altcoins which provide full anonymity might get more support from investors.Now,some new coins are introduced which provide completely full anonymity.They might become expensive in the long run.
