Title: Minig start... but what?
Post by: jonnyming on July 12, 2017, 09:39:27 AM
Hi everyone I decided to build two machines to do mining after putting my hands on 12 asus amd rx550 4gb. Building two machines with 6 video cards which coin do you think it is more convenient to undermine? I had thought of the etherum but I saw maybe bottlecup might be cheaper and easier ...

Why do you think bottlecap is better? Because you are a first mover and the coin is still less than $200k? Or do you believe in the philosophy or architecture?

I think of bottlecap because I believe there is more growth potential and however I consider the project to be valid. But since I do not know the mining business I would like advice

Are you aiming for convenience? Or better profits/returns? I'd personally go with Dash as of now, since I think with mining dash I can maximize my profits. Take a look at other coins too, though. Lookup on Siacoin.

Thanks for the advice I certainly did not know her. Could you give me a guide where you can figure out how to start mining Dash?

I've heard good things about ROI of Dash too, but as a non miner, am interested to know your take.

My advice is: just start mining ETH and do your research. It'll take you some days to find out other candidates to mine. And still you'll have to test those coins yourself to see what the yields are.

Don't listen to the trolls, they just don't want you to mine. Dash has been taken over by ASIC's for years and is NOT profitable for GPU mining. RX 550's are not very good mining cards, but I would suggest downloading the NiceHash miner and running the benchmark. That will give you your rigs hashrate for different algorithms and you can then use a profitability calculator to see what are the most profitable coins for your rig.

I am using 2 - RX 550's on NiceHash making about 0.60 a day, I also have a R9 280X which is making a bit less than the 2 RX 550.

Here you go:

You can always join a multipool, you'll always mine the most profitable coin.

Good luck.
