Title: Question about selling altcoins Post by: arjay45 on May 11, 2013, 02:09:25 AM Obviously I am a jr. member. I have no intention of scamming anyone, but I was one of the very first to mine a new altcoin (I was lucky enough to notice the author's push to github before he even announced the coin was ready).
I'd like to sell a few before it hits an exchange but obviously I have no reputation on this forum, and the google docs exchange I believe expects you to do the transaction in pm or thread or whatever. So what is the safest way for two people who don't trust each other to trade two different currencies? Ask a trusted hero to do escrow? If so, any suggestions for people that will do it for a small fee? Title: Re: Question about selling altcoins Post by: Kruncha on May 11, 2013, 02:16:01 AM your right, escrow is the best option.
Be careful who you choose: sr. members and hero members are not always trustworthy (it's just post count). John K. is the man you want for the job, if he's willing. K. Title: Re: Question about selling altcoins Post by: arjay45 on May 11, 2013, 02:21:06 AM Yeah I hear about this legendary John K. But I don't want to waste a busy person's time. Well maybe whoever might want to buy from me will know a good escrow. But yeah I think you're right, escrow is the way.
Either that or maybe divide it into 10 or 20 smaller transactions... tedious but well... better than a scam. Title: Re: Question about selling altcoins Post by: Kruncha on May 11, 2013, 02:34:17 AM Yeah, starting of small can help, you can build up as you gain trust.
anyway, good luck with what ever you choose to do (unless it involves scamming :P) K. Title: Re: Question about selling altcoins Post by: arjay45 on May 11, 2013, 02:40:17 AM Yeah no I don't intend to scam anyone. But of course I don't expect anyone to believe that without any proof.
Anyway I sent you some YAC for your kindness in answering my question. Title: Re: Question about selling altcoins Post by: jaywaka2713 on May 11, 2013, 02:47:44 AM Try http://btcrow.com/. Good automated escrow.
Title: Re: Question about selling altcoins Post by: arjay45 on May 11, 2013, 02:52:28 AM Thanks... I wonder if there's a version for LTC out there.... seems most people are trading altcoins for LTC.
But well, I don't mind getting BTC and they could always exchange some LTC for BTC at BTC-e to pay me.... You can trade your LTC and BTC for other currencies there. BTC-e.com might add it. http://bter.com would also be another site worthy of watching. They usually adopt to all these altcoins pretty fast. When http://vircurex.com comes back up after the weekend, it will probably be added relatively soon as well. They have almost everything there. Yeah, I have been hitting refresh every hour or two on bter.com hoping it appears. I know anyone that buys my YAC will end up profiting as soon as it hits a real exchange, but I don't mind sharing the wealth.... but yeah, reputation isn't a problem dealing with an exchange rather than over the forums. And YAC has been huge enough it might even hit BTC-e.com like feathercoin did. And YAC has been huge enough it might even hit BTC-e.com like feathercoin did. It's all about getting the node code and wallet generation code in sync with the server code. Once that happens, adapting it to the trade platform is so easy. Title: Re: Question about selling altcoins Post by: Julia Sanders on May 11, 2013, 03:55:37 AM What coin is it?
