Title: EOS ICO – Maybe I was Wrong Post by: Urban Crypto on July 13, 2017, 09:04:48 AM I am trying to figure out what my thoughts about the EOS ICO are. Initially, I truly did not understand why people would invest in the project when there were so many disclaimers to the ICO and no product yet in existence.
I wrote two controversial posts on the subject which I will include below. After my initial posts I did more research and watched some of the interviews and presentations of the management team of EOS and it was clear to me that they have a lot more knowledge about the blockchain than I do and have a good track record. The EOS ICO raised $185 million dollars in the first 5 days and is on track for numbers nobody could imagine. I would have to say that the marketplace is saying that I am an idiot :-). I guess only time will tell who gains the most from the EOS ICO. https://urbancrypto.com/eos-ico-maybe-i-am-just-an-idiot/ https://urbancrypto.com/eos-ico-im-not-idiot-sure-morons/ What are your thoughts? Title: Re: EOS ICO – Maybe I was Wrong Post by: Ayertosco on July 13, 2017, 09:07:31 AM I guess only time will tell who gains the most from the EOS ICO. EOS developers. Simple as that. Title: Re: EOS ICO – Maybe I was Wrong Post by: CrowdFunder on July 13, 2017, 09:47:20 AM I guess only time will tell who gains the most from the EOS ICO. EOS developers. Simple as that. Well they stand to potentially gain whether they make a good product or not but if they make a good product they will gain much more than they raised. Its in their interest to develop the ETH killer they have promised. Title: Re: EOS ICO – Maybe I was Wrong Post by: Ayertosco on July 13, 2017, 10:14:41 AM Well, too much money pouring in this project and this dollar rain is not stopping for a year. Even with the greatest ideas, i think that too much money can only damage a project. We'll see if i'm wrong when and IF they deliver...but i'm not investing.
Title: Re: EOS ICO – Maybe I was Wrong Post by: BenR on July 13, 2017, 10:35:24 AM Raising money is a good thing, allows you to build a strong product and company. But without any caps it seems like it's just a money grab. At some point, the founders have so much money that the ability to make more money is not sufficient motivation.
Title: Re: EOS ICO – Maybe I was Wrong Post by: andrew24p on July 13, 2017, 12:40:06 PM Just because you raised that much money doesnt mean the idea isnt stupid. Plus its run by Dan Larimar who has a fantastic history of creating projects and handing them over to the community after he cashes out. Bitshares, Steemit, now EOS. Lets see if hes still running it in 2 years. I would guess not.
Title: Re: EOS ICO – Maybe I was Wrong Post by: Urban Crypto on July 14, 2017, 01:11:21 PM I have reached out to the EOS team, good luck to me trying to get a response :-)

I agree with your point of view, I will not invest it, eos in such a short period of time, to raise so much money is very amazing, many of the market funds flock to it, the other altcoin down may be related to it.Title: Re: EOS ICO – Maybe I was Wrong Post by: cryptohunter on July 14, 2017, 02:40:26 PM seems like another self enrichment scheme from the people that enriched themselves nicely with bitshares and steem

EOS developers. Simple as that. Does the mass of users that invest in these ICO's deem that to be a bad thing though ? I don't think they do. I think they have this mentality about it all that as long as they get a small slice of the pie they are happy. I also have to laugh and formally claim my dispute with them dev's having a reputable track record. I call bullshit on that :D Title: Re: EOS ICO – Maybe I was Wrong Post by: Urban Crypto on July 18, 2017, 09:39:21 AM Just because you raised that much money doesnt mean the idea isnt stupid. Title: Re: EOS ICO – Maybe I was Wrong Post by: Nascor on July 18, 2017, 09:53:44 AM It's all good. If some people want to believe in the project, let them believe in it and invest

I doubt any of his projects will be alive in 5 years but who knows. Time will tell. Title: Re: EOS ICO – Maybe I was Wrong Post by: sinner on November 18, 2017, 12:11:06 PM posted this in the other 2 EOS threads:
i am worried I'm seeing a pattern here: the addresses below (and many more; below is a sample) receive ETH from Bitfinex, send ETH to EOSCrowdsale address, receive EOS from crowdsale, then send EOS back to Bitfinex. One explanation is arbitrage. But according to https://eosscan.io/ the price for period #146 (which ended 25 min ago) was $1.72, and even tho Bitfinex received a ton of EOS right after period #146, the price didn't drop from $1.78 (it may have dropped 2 cents from $1.80). If this pattern were just arbitrage, I'd expect the crowdsale price to be closer to the exchange prices. I have witnessed this many times--ICO price a bit below exchange price, but the exchange price doesn't drop right after the period ends. In other words, this pattern is probably not part of an arbitrage strategy. If somebody is accumulating EOS, there is no need to send to Bitfinex. https://etherscan.io/address/0x4e8c49fab23532ef2ed14058639f55cf45bade1e https://etherscan.io/address/0x59438809e11ef3a9e197de965abbfd6792092b76 https://etherscan.io/address/0x9fad7a730ba976ea8cbcf8fcd6e4c217386520a8 https://etherscan.io/address/0x188fb986e8932e8469578430acaa5a2c12f5c48b https://etherscan.io/address/0xe3c2e9512ea8026b68f69012944e89238a011ac7 https://etherscan.io/address/0x71d8b9755bbca15fc491e6520c21e319a574680b https://etherscan.io/address/0xeae47e717bb68f80180382e954320bed9072676b https://etherscan.io/address/0x8c63dfba829060122225d22c9d1d33841d8468d0 https://etherscan.io/address/0x47fcb6d294aad242088b026ad87867166c375207 https://etherscan.io/address/0xe777cde17e532f78227554607872adbb36597f06 also, EOS seems to be maybe the most transacted token at finex: https://etherscan.io/tokentxns?a=0x1151314c646ce4e0efd76d1af4760ae66a9fe30f&p=1 I am a huge fan of Dan Larimer, Steemit is a wonderful platform, and I really like the EOS project. However, I cannot come up with a legitimate reason for the pattern I am seeing above. The only explanation I can come up with is that ETH is being recycled into the ICO, and Bitfinex is being used to hide this recycling. I hope I am wrong about this. I trust Dan, and I would assume he's probably not involved in handling ICO funds. Furthermore, suppose recycling of ETH was occurring. The above behavior is exactly what you would expect to see. Who has access to EOS ICO funds? block.one claims the ICO is being audited.. when can I review this audit? I've seen this: https://eos.io/faq.html but I don't blindly trust, especially with no way to verify. Quote 26. Will block.one be contributing to the EOS Token distribution? No, during the entire EOS Token distribution period, block.one will not do any of the following: block.one will not purchase EOS Tokens by any means; block.one will not pay any dividends to its shareholders; and block.one will not perform any share buybacks. block.one intends to engage an independent third party auditor who will release an independent audit report providing further assurances that block.one has not purchased EOS Tokens during the EOS Token distribution period or traded EOS Tokens (including using proceeds from the EOS Token distribution for these purposes). This report will be made available to the public on the eos.io website. Title: Re: EOS ICO – Maybe I was Wrong Post by: residivis on November 18, 2017, 12:21:13 PM very simple for its users who will also plunge into it, whether for the future will make a profit center in this case?
Title: Re: EOS ICO – Maybe I was Wrong Post by: SGToken on November 18, 2017, 01:01:20 PM I bought EOS at the price of $1.8. A few months later I am able to get rid of it, finally.
