There are only 21 million total bitcoins that can be mined, what will happen if all bitcoin is already mined?

According to research if bitcoin reach its limit, it will be disappear but it doesn't happen already so don't worry. I think devs will solve the problem to extend.

One of the options now is to develop bitcoin. In the future there is an issue stating that there is a new type of bitcoin that will be outstanding. But it is still limited to requests from several communities only. We'll see later, but I still like the bitcoin that exists today. Changes can sometimes lead to good, but sometimes can make things worse.

The answer to this question has already been answered in this Forum. After all the bitcoin is generated, transactions will be mined only.

nothing will happen, there can only be 21 million bitcoins mined, after the last one is mined
there will be business as usual, only the miners will be solving blocks to recieve transactions fees, not the block rewards
very soon, after 3-4 block reward halvings, this will be the main source of income for them anyways

After everything is done bitcoin prices will increase, with the limitations of existing bitcoin will certainly make more and more people using bitcoin. This will make bitcoin difficult to find and also bitcoin into goods or currency that is very popular. This is indeed a prediction, everything can change. We must wait until the time comes.

I think transaction fees will increase and the reward will still be nice income for the miners. But meanwhile, core dev team may find out some other alternatives.

It is certain there will be an alternative in mining activities that will end in the amount of 21 million,
That is only our benchmark, but the miners of the team must have had other ways to overcome it

i think bitcoin will start disappear before that, it will end like a fashion sidenote among cryptocurrencies/token that will come in the future that will basically be like investments funds bank accounts and be strictly backed by existing assets and organisations and have a strict audit unlike bitcoin that just is an empty anonymous IT system. additionally there will be cybercrime organisations and syndicates that might hiddenly try to do 51% attacks on cryptocurrency systems especially if they become valuable because of to many fanatic believers like bitcoin has.

bitcoin is more like a speculative flagship that introduces a new technology. as soon as the hype flows down and the choice gets bigger people will rethink for what money they work for.

if someone is interested joining a good new blockchain project than PN me cant tell more yet.

it will take many years., from wiki, it says it will be year 2140 to be all bitcoins to be mined completed.,
later that miners and ASIC will work to confirming the transactions., and get paid fees.

The network will run on all the transaction fees that are required to send your bitcoin over to another bitcoin address. But that will atleast take another decade if I'm not mistaken. I wonder how big bitcoin will be at that point in time. Perhaps everybody is using bitcoin then.

I think price of bitcoin will increase. The good thing about bitcoin is limited. just like gold it is also limited that is why the price of gold is very expensive.  the only problem with btc is that you can not physically touch it. but as long people still using bitcoin then price will only increase.

No. According to what research? Bitcoin will still exist when all Bitcoins are mined and the developers don't have to do anything about it.

Miners will keep mining and getting paid from the transaction fees of each block, which will be adequate due to the huge amount of transactions assuming Bitcoin also scales on-chain.

Title: Re: What Will happen if all bitcoin already mined ?

If the price of the transaction is not reduced then I am afraid that there will be a large number of transactions. It seems to me that we should think about now. While it is possible to get coins to lower the price of small transactions and develop trade with bitcoins.

they will mine for fee, which are around 220 btc now, against the 1800 btc from the total emission per day, 1/9

this value in fee will be lower thanks to segwit, but this also mean that the same value will be higher against fiat currency, because will force adoption and the value will increase

The flood of investment will probably stop at that time. On the tops I assume mining industry will get affected at major level. The mining will be of course limited to doing and confirming the transactions from block and there won't be any creation of new blocks or generation of coins. It may happen that founders of bitcoin will add more coins into the circulation by creating some. They might have thought of it already. Or bitcoin will get collapsed due to insufficient volume being invested into it as is the case currently.

If all the bitcoins were mined then there won't be any stability to bitcoin value. The limited supply would be fully into circulation and there will be no new investment into bitcoin. No buying if it and at this point people will have altcoins as the opportunity to trade their money with all the ups and downs in it. As bitcoin would be unstable and will be going down over the time it will not receive that much peers as it is getting right now.

Considering the price stability would not be right parameter because bitcoin price is generally not stable . You can see dip of 400 - 500$ in a day as well as rise of 300$ in a day inspite of not having full supply of bitcoin currently.

Yes one of the thing is that new investment may not be much as it happens today if all btc is being circulated.

This is a BS, How come that bitcoin will disappear it was mined. Where do you find that information? After all BTC mined, All the miners will still have profit from processing transaction. Imagine if all bitcoin was mined, The volume of transaction per day will inflate and that means a lot of job and income opportunity for investors that time. But bitcoin scaling might resolve first before thinking this matter.

When all the coins are mined miners will receive money for the transaction process and in parallel can mine other crypto currency. If people will have all 21 million bitcoins, the number of transactions will be sufficient to miners made good money.

mining all bitcoins will take too long so you don't have to worry about that issue. even so, if that happens devs will find away to fix such problem.
maybe after 100 years when all bitcoins have been mined, i think only miners will be affected but they can still make profit from verifying transactions or mining altcoins.

Price will increase if demand increases.
Miners will mine for transaction fees to secure the network.

Title: Re: What Will happen if all bitcoin already mined ?

Its already been mentioned but to put it simply as more halvings occur transaction fees will represent a bigger and bigger proportion of the revenue generated by miners. It is already starting to be significant which is one of the reasons why miners wish to see bigger blocks rather than offchain solutions. It is literally their future potential revenue source.

More or less. You are right. Since the volume of transaction will be high, then the demand of mining processing will be high too that result to slow confirmation and forcing bitcoin user to input high transaction fee.

Will this lead to higher mining fee?
Offcourse, since there will be no block reward as all the coins are already mined. So, for compensating the loss, miners will charge high fees. It is quite inevitable. But I believe till that time the mining chips would be really advanced and more affordable. Thus, miner's initial investment would be less. So, this may cut down the raised fees. Moreover, with the developing technology we might see some other form of currency and Bitcoin might get lost in thin air. 2140 is really a long time. Speculating about it even when we will not be alive is indeed funny.

This is not something we have to be worrying for now because the time-frame for that is still so far away. Now, what can happen is that miners would be making money on per transaction basis. Will it be profitable or not is something we can only speculate. There are more pressing problems for Bitcoin that must be attended as soon as possible so let's not overthink things here.

If all bitcoin is already mined then the limit of the total bitcoin will be reached and it wouldnt be mined anymore due to its maximum limit. So if 21m is mined so therefore there will only be 21m total in all. Only transaction will be mined..

I wonder what they're going to get if you raised the price per transaction. This hinders the development of trade, and without that, miners will have nothing to translate. How do you think they understand? Greed can destroy. I hope that this problem will be solved before bitcoin starts to fall down.

The programmers or developers will surely find some way out of it so it is not to worry. Even if all bitcoins are mined (although it has much more years to go),  there will be a new immersion of any good way out of it.

Lulz - it's funny how many incorrect posts there are in this thread with a VERY simple question, that has a VERY simple answer.

The original paper by Satoshi states what is expected to happen.

It's not a "run out of Bitcoins" and it's not a "the devs will fix it" issue.

As a few people have posted, it's by design, as time goes on and more halvings occur, the fees per block are expected to cover the reduction of the miner reward, by design.
The limit on the number of BTC overcomes the standard economic force of inflation that devalues all currencies.

In simplest terms, the limit on the number of BTC is good for BTC and is by design.

My assumption is that once governments realize that China & Russia (and companies located within each) control close to 70% of the world's bitcoin supply, it will stop being an accepted form of commerce, and the price will drop.

I bet they have a few options open to extend the bitcoin empire.

I'm also pretty sure bitcoin will become unreachable when they will be mined. The price will sky rocket like you never seen before, just like every product is expensive when they are hard to get.

If all bitcoin had been mined already, than each bitcoin would have reflect the value of the energy that was used in mining and the public perception of its scarcity would lead to a rapid increase in price. At the same institutional investors will take interest like never before to have their own holdings in the entire bitcoin economy. It would indeed be a very interesting scenario.

I just focus on price. Because when all the bitcoins have been mine, the bitcoin will become scarce and limited, and make the price higher, but it all depends on the bitcoin function at that time. If bitcoin is still used, then the price will be higher, but vice versa.

Well we have many years until all 21mil bitcoins are mined. I'd like to sit here and give you a somewhat descriptive explanation that was well thought out but the answer here is pretty simple. If all bitcoins are mined, then there's no more bitcoins to mine. All mining operations will switch/transfer over to some other sort of blockchain. Pretty simple one to work out there...

If all the bitcoins are already mined, then I think that’s when the bitcoin price is going to really boom since there is no bitcoin to mine, there would be scarcity of the coins in the market, and so people who held their coins are free to hike the price and even sell at black market rate

Nothing, yeah no, seriously. nothing will happen when all the Bitcoins are mined. The price of Bitcoin is determined by current demand to transfer value  and expected future demand. The only way this will change is if a constant stable amount of value were continuously being transferred through the system, which would require significant real use. As yet real usage is pretty insignifcant and most transactions are probably speculative. Anyway, we can’t predict the future.

we cant mate, but if we are positive thinkers we will believed that after everything was mined the real purpose of bitcoin will be served as a currency to lessen
transaction period, bitcoin will continue just like real fiat where circulation are the big factors of growth.

Been made in a way that miners will earn rewards from fees, i think. By the way, the 21million Bitcoin limit time is far away... not something we should worry about now.

Bitcoin will just circulate in the market, mining hardware will be useless, the peak difficulty had been reached. Bitcoins are also very expensive if ever all of it are mined already. Also, 21 million of bitcoin is a big number since not all people could not afford 1 bitcoin once its price is very high.

Monero will replace Bitcoin :P Coming sooN 1XMR = $1000

Oh come on that's not gonna happen at all. Monero is also limited in its emission rate and the supply is limited based on that. There are many other altcoins which are in line to explode after bitcoin such as ethereum, Ripple and waves. Monero is good and know that personally too but that's only for long term investments. Monero is not that viable because other currencies are moving their heads up to jump in the market which are better than it. Mostly ethereum would be another choice. I don't want to say this but bcc and BCH are new devils too.

Of course, Bitcoin prices will reach over $ 100,000 right after the extraction of 21 million Bitcoins and Bitcoin investment at that time will be very difficult because we will not have the money to buy Bitcoin.

when all bitcoin is mined ,mining seems to be dead and the only way to earn is thru transaction fees. mining is more profitable than transaction fees and the mining pools holds the larger mining equipment and contributed a lot on a blockchain- the more the miner, the bigger the blockchain and it is expected to have a larger share for a bitcoin transaction fees. the only problem if the mining pool realized that transaction fee is not profitable anymore and impractical to sustain the mining equipment, mining pool would stop operation and the blockchain network disrupted and a very long delay of bitcoin transaction would occur for a missing blockchain would cause a delay. then bitcoin would collapse for their service is not competent anymore. so the probable solution is to implement an off-chain bitcoin transaction so whenever blockchain is interrupted the off-chain comes to the rescue.

In theory, all the coins will have been mined at 21million.

I've always wondered though how the BTC ecosystem will survive with a fixed number because people are losing their bitcoins daily (misplaced, lost storage, etc.) Think of it like a set number of gold

Um, as I recall the last BTC reward coin will be mined in about 150 years so rather a moot point... Long before then most mining income will be from the Tx fees and after that last coin is produced it will be 100% from Tx fees.

Hell, very recently there was a block that paid a total of 18.4BTC or 32%  over the default 12.5.

This theory may indeed be true, well from here we can see the rise in bitcoin prices, swmakin thinning the remaining bitcoin will make the price higher, and it will be profitable for anyone who can hold the most bitcoin at the end of the mine, and of course those who can play The sale price of bitcoin, and this is just speculation I do not know what will happen after the mine ends

Not that much is going to change really. That point in time is quite a bit off. But the fact is that people will still be trading back and forth and that means that they're still going to have to be mining to take care of those transactions. There won't be any large block Rewards. That's going to be the biggest difference, and that might actually make some of the larger Farms back off and maybe difficulty will come down. I wouldn't expect this for a quite a long time.

Many years or one hundred years from now. The bitcoin will be going to be mined, all of that 21 million bitcoins. And if is that will happen, bitcoin price will be increase, because it is limited, it's only have 21 million bitcoins all over the world. So that is why the price of bitcoin will be get much higher, cause of its rarity. Rare is equal to high value, right?

From what I know, the law of demand and supply will be relevant in terms of determining the price of bitcoins on the market. If there are less supplies (meaning all bitcoins are mined out), then the demand for the bitcoin will increase resulting to a significant impact on its price. But from what I know, this will probably take years from now to be fully mined out. Another thing, I guess that there might be a cryptocurrency that may potentially replaces bitcoin on the future.

After all 21 million bitcoins are mined - which will take quite a long time with the block reward reductions, about 60 years if I remember right - miners will still receive transaction fees from solving blocks and advancing the blockchain. Assuming bitcoin value increases on a trajectory that tracks with the increasing difficulty of mining, it should still be worth solving blocks just for the transaction fees. If it's not, presumably miners will find other coins until the difficulty decreases enough for it to be worth mining again without block rewards.

When all Bitcoins are mined. Miners only get paid for the transactions fees. This most likely means a lot of miners will go off the network. Curious how they are planning to solve that after that. I do believe Bitcoin transactions will be even faster near that date. Miners are needed to keep the network alive. So I can see donation funds happen to keep miner farms alive to keep the Bitcoin network alive basically. Maybe the transaction fees then will be enough to keep miners interested. We will see when we get there. :)

I don't think miners will get off the network.. Things will reach an equilibrium, and by the time bitcoin reaches its 21 million units, hopefully it'll be already adopted by many and have scaled well - meaning plenty of tx/s to keep the miners going profitably.

The simple logic is that,if all bitcoins minced than demand of bitcoin also rises due to it's popularity and decentralized nature. So it simply increase the value of bitcoin. So be ready to face it . ;)

Yeah same will happen as well as mining fees will be increased too. Miners won't be having any other source if getting their money or profits so they will just out more fees on us. Bitcoin will be costly as well so everything is going to be costly at one point in crypto world. This might be the era when altcoins will start taking the leap into trading and investments market. Moreover, miners will have only one thing to do and that's confirming the bitcoin transactions. :-)

Or what happens when 21million limit is reached. That "Mining" Metaphor isn't really the most suitable.

Well, guess Satoshi placed the limit for a reason. Fees will eventually become the main source of income for the miners.
Fortunately, it will take a very long day for the limit to be reached.

Bitcoin is celebrated by supporters and admonished by skeptics because of its finite supply. There are only 21 million bitcoins that can ever be mined, regardless of the earth’s population and its corresponding demand for bitcoins. Once all 21 million have been mined, there will never be any new bitcoins (unless a change to the protocol is made to increase the supply).

This is not the right one, mining hardware are still needed at that time because the function of bitcoin mining is to use it for confirmation of your transaction that was generated from one peer to another peer. It is not just used to mine coins but it's actually used to confirm the transaction by solving the smart equations embedded into the transition.

There will be advancement in the chips as well and the transaction will be very much faster as compared to today's speed. There will be fees which I'm concern about because miners will not be getting rewards anymore so they will have to incur us more fees to survive.

It is assumed that Bitcoin will disappear, but perhaps there is the chance that this limited could be extended, or considering that Bitcoin founder Satoshi Nakamoto has a great stock of inactive coins this stock could be used as the asset for further existence of Bitcoin itself.

With technology now, I think it will be very soon bitcoin will be exploited. Then, their price will increase sharply because of this small amount.
If by 'soon will be exploited' you mean soon no more coins will be left to be mined as rewards then you have no idea how Bitcoin operates  ::)
You *are* correct that the value of BTC should continue to rise as they become harder to mine.

The network is self regulating to maintain an average of 10min per-block regardless of how fast miners work and how many are running. That means there is a FIXED DATE when the last coin is mined. That date is 2140. As technology gets faster Diff goes up to hold the 10-min per block.

Yes that means miners have to continually expand/update their farm to keep the same income but that is not much different than *any* business. Case in point: I started in Feb 2014 with 2x little 10GHs miners from BFL. Now I run 245+THs. Total starting cash into things was $8k up to April 2014 when from then on ALL expansions and upgrades were paid for by my farm income with a very tidy amount of profit as well.

Using the simple Google "when will the last Bitcoin be mined" turns up this as top answer:
Quote
The estimate is 2140 based on the block reward halving frequency of four years
Since none of us will be around then, can this damn newbie discussion of 'when' now finally die?

There aren't 21 million bitcoins. The number of bitcoins is unlimited.

Why? Because right now there are 2 bitcoins. bitcoin cash and bitcoin core. Bitcoin forked into 2 bitcoins. There are now 42 million bitcoins. And it can split again and again. There is not "official" bitcoin because bitcoin itself is decentralized. Each time it hard forks, it splits into another 2 bitcoins, both of which can be mined. And this can go on forever.

So, there is no limit to the number of bitcoins and there is no "official" bitcoin. It is just whatever bitcoin fork is popular at the time.

That is taking a rather wide view of things, by many in the community BCC is considered an altcoin - not Satoshi's original Bitcoin. BTC proper is limited to the 21 million. Now how the max coins count for BTC and its offspring inter-relate you need to look elsewhere in the forum. I do remember seeing something about it and *believe* that BCC did NOT restart the count, it took note of the current BTC blockchain and coins produced up to the instant the fork activated. BCC then continued on its merry way. Now again, how/if BTC and BCC somehow sync with each other I have no idea. That issue was part of the kerfuffle in some folks moving their coins from BTC to BCC when it activated.

edit: Looking here https://www.cryptocompare.com/coins/bcc/overview/BTC it sure looks like BTC and BCC coins are tracking each other as far as the 21mil go and how coins are left.

Not likely, the idea is when all BTC have been mined, the miners will get paid from all the transactions fees, and that would, if all goes well, cover electricity cost and keep the tx-es continue :)

Lets not get out of hand here..there are MANY coins that has the name bitcoin in it, so there is not two bitcoins. There is ONE original and several altcoins. Important difference. you cannot simply create more bitcoins just by forking it. the hardcap is 21 million bitcoins and nothing else. If someone decides to create a fork which no one find usefull, it will be totally worthless.

According to research if bitcoin reach its limit, it will be disappear but it doesn't happen already so don't worry. I think devs will solve the problem to extend.

I've never heard such thing. But that is great threat coming if that's true.

After 21 million bitcoins have been deployed by the bitcoin blackchain, the only thing left to do is mine transactions. Miners at that point will make money off of transaction fees.

And miners fee will continue to rise ( because of the hashpower and it's difficulty to handle ).
One of the vision that I'm seeing in the future is that mining transactions of cryptocurrencies will be the main functions of banks ( if cryptocurrencies will ever replace fiat ). And then the miners fee will serve as the taxes.

And by the way, we still got to make a lot of hashpower to mine the remaining BTC.

There are only 21 million total bitcoins that can be mined, what will happen if all bitcoin is already mined?

I don't really know the exact answers but im hoping that this bitcoin will become a global digital currency in the future that we can use wherever we are and whenever we want. I think if this bitcoin reached its total maximum of 21 million, it will stay for long and the value of it will become constant and sustainable, maybe the other coins will surpass this bitcoin in the future but bitcoin will not stop.

It will take long time to mine all of the 21 millions bitcoins (~20 years), which means that bitcoins will survive for long time. By that time, bitcoin price will be much higher and the usage will be high also. Miners will continue to mine and secure the bitcoin network as miners earn transaction fees (even though no more block reward, but transaction fees are there).

Also during this 20 years, bitcoin protocol will evolve.

Think about Fed or other Central Bank. They can print money whenever they want - and control the "local" economy jusy by adding extra cash in the system or lower the interest rate. As a matter of fact the value of its money is cheaper so citizen can spend it more. BUT be aware that system is controlled by an authority!!! Are you sure you can trust them ?

When the money printed is too much the entirety economy goes down because of inflation of hyper-inflation ( see what's happening in Venezuela ) and what you own is just a bunch paper with some ink on it.

So thanks to its definited amount ( 21 MBTC) , BTC will never be influenced by inflation and yet it can only growths its price.

The issue is that profits from mining new bitcoins is continuously decreasing (and will reach 0 in 2140, when all bitcoins have been mined), while cost of mining is increasing. So to keep miners mining (because without miners the whole system breaks down), they need to be paid somehow otherwise. This is where transaction fees come in, but it's in my humble opinion also the most problematic part (next to lack of scalability) of bitcoin. The more you pay, the faster your transaction will be processed, the less you pay the slower (or possibly never if you are unlucky) is your payment processed. This means for your payments to be timely processed, you'll have to pay a sizeable amount of transaction fees, as you don't have a guaranteed transaction time, but have to pay for it. Just imagine you: timely pay your rent, but don't pay a high transaction fee (possibly because you simply can't afford it) and get thrown out of your appartment, because the transaction was simply not processed (or not fast enough) because of it and you not willing (or able) to pay a premium for fast processing. So in a very problematic situation you might be forced to offer transaction fees, that would make the interest of a loan shark look like a good deal, just to make your payment work.

you are right in don't thing it will happen we need to incres the supplay as demand increases. If bitcoin completely miners will bother about it. They only get income from the transaction we are doing from the one wallet to another wallet.

many speculators are expecting it to be mined in 2050 itself. As you said, if it is falls on 2140 I too really happy.

Bitcoin is coded in a way that miners will earn rewards from fees after all the bitcoins have been mined.

By the way, the 21million Bitcoin limit time is far away... not something we should worry about right now.

Last bitcoin will be mined in 2140 according to the code. Which is 123 years away from 2017.

By that time, we would have gone through A LOT more :)

That is so true. Exactly the definition I want to say, you said it all. Nothing can make bitcoins more useful than this mined bitcoin. If all the mining is already done with bitcoins then there is no such limit of use and bitcoins are so easily treated, more than now. So you said it right that after that you will be seeing bitcoin on sun.

Then i will answer for the topic now when the all bitcoins mined the bitcoin price will reach very high maybe $ 1000K or more.Bitcoin holders are gonna be millionaire and the transaction of bitcoin take less time than now.No one can predict the future so let's wait and see.

The network will run on all the transaction fees that are required to send your bitcoin over to another bitcoin address. But that will atleast take another decade if I'm not mistaken. I wonder how big bitcoin will be at that point in time. Perhaps everybody is using bitcoin then.

Disappear to where? What research? simply state that this is your uninformed opinion. For starters, the blockchain will still be there so bitcoin is not going to disappear. Secondly, only worry of for miners as there will be no more block reward. But they will be sorted as they can still earn through transaction fees. But I think this will require the devs and bitcoin community to make changes on the blockchain. My 2 cents.

The last Bitcoin to be mined will be in 2140, in more than 100 years.

I doubt Bitcoin will still exist after somany years. From 1900's to 2000's, we have create disruptive technologies and the world has changed a lot.

But if Bitcoin will be there in 2140, then the demands of bitcoin will just go up and it'll be an alternative to the gold;

First of all , if we reach the point when all the bitcoins are gonna be mined , the bitcoin price will explode , and I mean a big big explode in price because the race to gather bitcoin will be over from that point. Also the alts will go down and only the strongest will survive but I'm sure we gonna see this phase somewhere near the 2021 ( just for alts , not bitcoin), As far as I know , bitcoins will be mined around 2040 ? or something like this.

jeraldskie11, even a newbie know better than you and I wonder why you could post such false information that bitcoin will disappear after reaching the 21million. However, the only thing that will happen when bitcoin the total 21million is hike in transaction fee because that's the only thing the miners will depend on.

The plan certainly has accounted for the day all bitcoins have been mined. From the POV of a miner, if bitcoin does become a status quou currency, earnings will be from fees. If you are a miner concerned with income, as already mentioned, no need to worry. You can mine other coins (if existing) or you can still earn from fees. Fees can't increase to the point of inconvenience, but the limit will probably be compensated by the number of transactions.

Title: Re: What Will happen if all bitcoin already mined ?

Once all bitcoins are mined, the fee of miners will go up, as they will only be getting incentive in the form of fee from those who are transferring bitcoins to each other. Moreover, the huge volume of transfers will compensate for the charges borne, and they will still be paid a handsome amount.

Moreover, since no new bitcoins will be mined any further, the price of bitcoins will shoot up!

Who said there is nt a plan already. If the last block gets mined, miners will resort to transaction fees only and that is the only compensation that would be left for them which aint bad too anyway and by then bitcoin's value would have gotten up and probably transactions would have been speedy enough to make them make enough from all transactions per day.

All are just assumptions but no doubt that bitcoin is very successful crypto currency and people trust on bitcoin much than other cryptocurrency. When bitcoin mined completely, then, I hope the developer will find out a way better to bitcoin future.

The value will definitely be far more than that when before all bitcoins are already mined.
It is not something that should even be expected anytime soon, but when that time comes, we might just have to be looking at the transaction fees instead as a means of survivor for miners and not the other little incentives they keep getting from the mine presently.

Looking at the fact that not all Cryptocurrencies are mineable; we sure can say that the complete mining of 21 million bitcoin doesn't mean it'll crash in price. I believe at that point in time, bitcoin worth would be far higher than when it can be mined [based on the principle of scarcity]

Bitcoin is like gold in many ways. Like gold, Bitcoin cannot simply be created arbitrarily. Gold must be mined out of the ground, and Bitcoin must be mined via digital means.

It may seem that the group of individuals most directly effected by the limit of the Bitcoin supply will be the Bitcoin miners themselves.

On one hand, there are detractors of the Bitcoin limitation who that say that miners will be forced away from the block rewards they receive for their work once the Bitcoin supply has reached 21 million in circulation. In this case, these miners may need to rely on transaction fees in order to maintain operations.

So when the last coin will be mined, Bitcoins will not go any where. Only people who used to mine will need to find new way to earn money)

once all 21 million have been mained, there will never be any new bitcoins (unless a change to the protocol is made to increase the supply).
And since the last coin will be mined about 2140, who the F cares 'what will happen'? You planning on being around then are ya? ;)

Most coins have already been mined though. There are already like 16 million in existence. Now we need to make Bitcoin more spendable, because at the moment it still can't be used to buy most things.

By the time that all of the coins are mined, nothing will change because by that time 1 bitcoin would either cost super high or nothing. If the coins price is already high by the time all of the coin was mined then transaction fees can compensate mining profit.

On my opinion, bitcoin nowadays is like a gold. We keep mining until time will come its hard to find.  Since, I've been stated its like a gold, nowadays, as the time passes by the value of gold is increasing due to its mining process likewise bitcoin, the difficulty to find a bitcoin its value will high. So for sure, if the time will come almost bitcoin will mined its value is very, very high as what value we have today. Having a bitcoin today is much more advantage for our future.

There is only 21 million bitcoins available in the crypto market so after mining all the bitcoins due to economic factors such as demand and supply determines the value of the product which is bitcoins, after mining all the bitcoins the demand for bitcoins will shoots as more and more user's are entering the crypto market which shoots the price of bitcoins, a total of 16 million bitcoins have been mined so far only 5 million bitcoins are left but it will take time to reach that cap as every three to four years the difficulty of mining is also increasing but in the early stages of bitcoins, it was easy to mine bitcoins compared to the present day. The miner's might increase the transaction fees of bitcoins for them to sustain in the crypto market.

Suppose, 21 million bitcoin has been mined.
I'm not afraid of the condition, because there are other alternatives we can do with bitcoin, first among them is investment, trading or being a speculator in the market.
With the occurrence of bitcoin scarcity, it`s certain that bitcoin prices will explode (very expensive) at that time, while the demand for bitcoin is increasing.

Realistically, you are not mining Bitcoins but in fact you are mining blocks. Hence, when all Bitcoins have been mined, there is no effect in the Bitcoin world. You will only get rewards out of it then.

Needless to say, the bitcoin price at that time will be "BOOM !!!", while altcoin will become powder (sand) it becomes "very small".
But with the occurrence of bitcoin scarcity, people will use bitcoin just as invest and sell / buy it.

Gold must be mined out of the ground, and Bitcoin must be mined via digital means. ... In fact, there are only 21 million Bitcoins that can be mined in total. Once miners have unlocked this many Bitcoins, the planet's supply will essentially be tapped out, unless Bitcoin's protocol is changed to allow for a larger supply

I don't think its reach to its limit so early. Because if it happen bitcoin will be very expensive. If its already mined then why bitcoin not vanished now ?. So you don't need to worry about it just keep your mining system and earn benefits from it.
There are 16 million bitcoin being used world wide and rest are yet to be mined.

When that happens i honestly believe that people are going to lose whatever interest that they have in bitcoins and although the value will not plummet, i dont think it will rise any further like its currently doing and people will move to other cryptocurrency that will make them more money.

Answer is simple, Bitcoin price will go up. And altcoins will be more and more popular, especially most popular, like ETH. In fact, I think, that ETH and Ripple price will also go up, when all Bitcoins will be mined.

well miners will be mining those transfer fees, bitcoin will continue on the mining side as people are sending bitcoin to another wallet every second, this will go to mine pool (the transfer fee) which miners can get though of course the number of coins to mine are getting smaller and smaller everytime

if all bicoin 21 million is in mine then bitcoin demand will be higher and bitcoin will be more popular so i think to collect bitcoin at this time in preparation for that time, because bitcoin supplay in market will be increasingly rare

Proficiently the people at the back will make a get of their best in order to continue not just because anything was already been mined means that things will mishap or collapse. For sure past that period came more adoptions and uses are already been created.

I think investing in cloud mining is the best way to make most out of bitcoin right now. https://hashflare.io/r/8212DF10
and use code HF17PROF5 to get 5% discount

you have to get a huge computational power if you want to compete with pools. So it not worths it right now - and of course you do not have to pay much the electricity bill ( cause it gonna cost you more than what you are thinking )

Go North!!!
