Peerplays and similar. Most of the coins based on casinos and betting. Holders receive commisions and fees.
SONM token holders earn the percentage from transactions and operations fees too.

Research ZEIT,
they are moving to an Ultra Low Inflation Rate beginning Aug 11, 2017 that will stabilize their price per coin which will allow its price to grow over time.

Interest rate will be only .0005% per year, but where you can make money with them is when you process a block and earn transaction fees, you can then sell the transaction fees and interest and hold your principle for a passive income. So you want enough coins that you can stake at least once per day and earn the transaction fees.

For BitBay, do you know if they have any plans to fix it in the near future? No wonder it got dumped so hard, people have no incentive to hold it

Waves lite client allows leasing your waves and you will earn miner rewards tokens MRT or other tokens depending on which server you use for leasing

There's actually more than a few different options out there.

Staking coins, obviously work well in an interest yield fashion like:
1337
DMD
BlockNet
Espers

Masternode coins mostly need a substantial up front investment but yield better than pure staking, like:
DASH
ChainCoin

There's coins with unique node types in development but I don't think any are fully developed at the moment, thinking of:

ZenCash (secure nodes)
XtraBytes (static nodes)

Then there's different tokens that have various profit sharing schemes:

TAAS
Etheroll
Peerplay

Lastly, there's coins with potential earnings either in splits/snapshots/or unique token distributions:

Spreadcoin - will have a 1:1 distribution of Helium at the end of this month for holders
Waves - simply holding WAVES tokens in your wallet earns certain payouts, as well as being eligible for various (usually worthless) airdrops

and there's always the intrinsic value growth by simply holding coins/tokens of valuable and developing projects that plan to offer real world applications.

You can invest in coin lending to generate passive income such as UCH, BCS, SPA ... Also you can run staking coins with this scheme to generate more income.

I understand your idea. For today you can hold in your wallet wings - participate in forecasts and receive some amounts. Also Waves give some coins for waves.

Too many alt coins popping out like mushrooms. Too many to figure out which ones are going to stay or not. But btc just got to 9k today so everything is looking good in the cryptocurrency world.

Well all coins are down these days and only bitcoin is growing, so either invest in bitcoin or you can invest in a good ICO and  get profit.
I will recommend trade.io ICO to you as this is one of the best i have found till date. They have a great team and a great marketing plan. I hope my investments will be fruitful here.

I am of the opinion that POS token is an awesome coin which is true to the essence of proof-of-stake. Many newbies were introduced to POS because of this token simply because its so easy to use. To stake your coin you only need to wait 3 days then send it to yourself. The minted coins will give you a return based on the number of coins you hold + the coin age (number of days since last activity).

On my opinion I think Bitcore (BTX) is good for passive income because they have this weekly 3% airdrop for every holder depending on the number of Bitcore (BTX) you are holding. And this passive type of income would only last until Oct 2018. This is a rare opportunity to earn additional income.

For many tokens, you can only put tokens in your wallet, and you can get regular new tokens, such as NEO and HSR, etc. This seems to be a POW mechanism.

Envion seems to be a good option, though they're currently carrying out an ICO and as usual, any investment should be done with caution and research should be carried out beforehand. However, the mining industry seems to be still picking up so they might have a chance at this.

I hold in leasing only Waves. If you keep coins in their wallet, you will earn airdrop, and a bit of Waves. Also heard about the strat. But there should be at least 3000 coins. The same DCR. Do not use it, as it is not such a large number of them from me

It is possible to leasing of WAVES, but it has really low ROI and I have not tried it. But you can find the information on the official website of this project or in the official wallet.

MNX has it's own bank that currently yields 16% monthly. Used to be higher but now it's stable around 15%.

I think GIFcoin is what you looking for. It is funded by VitalBet.com, in fact it is already functioning now in betting website. And then 80% of VITALBET's annual profit will be shared with all GIF token holders once a year. Once you invest GIFcoin you will be shared of that big percent from Vitalbet. And most of all GIFcoin tokens are ERC-20 resellable.

Regarding masternodes you can check here:
https://masternodes.online/

I like Monoeci, solid masternode and good Project.
https://masternodes.online/currencies/XMCC/
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2083054

Regarding staking I think Bean Cash (BitBean) looks interesting
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=969676.0

If price of coin rise you earn more but if price fall you might not earn anything so make sure to choose a coin that you beleive in. Don't look at ROI numbers alone. It is not uncommon that coins with silly high ROI quickly drops in price. Like somebody thought Zen secure nodes are a bad choice because of low ROI. But I think they might still be a good choice because of the chance of increasing price because this is a good solid coin. There are a lot of new masternode coins that may be just scam coins.

The answer is simple. Most Popular. Those for which there is always a demand and who have a steadily rising price up. From alt coins this is an ethereum for example. I do not advise bitcoin, it's sad with him.
