Title: Views on Bitcoin hard fork
Post by: coinenthu on July 18, 2017, 09:33:10 PM
Hi Guys,

Can you post your views on BTC hard fork if it happens?

What would you support - BTC as is or Segwit activated BTC?

Any price predictions for BTC and BTC new?

Appreciate any thoughts on this topic.

Thank you,
Coinenthu

A fork would mean a drop in price for BTC original and likely a false rise in price for BTC new.

the things i hear is when the hardfork comes, the price will halve because the value will split between 2 coins

At least if the chain split will not happen and i don't want to say anything regarding the hardfork. That's not my competence to said the future after the hardfork.

Segwit, That's obviously.

You can try to see the ethereum and etc as the basic information regarding the price of the fakecoin of bitcoin. I mean 1/10 the price of bitcoin.

Even with the split, I doubt we'll see a halving of the current BTC price.  However, the new version BCC will likely drop in price more than BTC because of uncertainty.

At present no hardfork is happening. Miners have started signalling Segwit2x and if it successfully implements Segwit with majority of miners. There will be no chain split and hence price will increase. Segwit2x has a scheduled hard fork date set to occur about 90 days after Segwit activates on Bitcoin. It is really far away to speculate anything.

Nope... it will not be like that. The split will not be uniform or even. It will be more like 90% or 95% of the market cap going to one coin and the remaining 5% to 10% of the market cap going to the second coin. But the combined market cap also will take a hit due to the chaos.

Is BTC able to solve most of the internal issue(s) without hard forking? My understanding is of that soft fork is just an delay but not the permanent solution.

frankly, I do not want this to happen, however, it is indispensable problem which should resolve to Bitcoin developer, however, this may also be a hole to bury Bitcoin, it may collapse here.

My biggest reason for not liking the segwit2x fork is the development would move to the miners control...   so the manufacturers off the ASICS, who also have mining pools, and also exchanges, would also control development...   that about a decentralized as the federal reserve...

No way would I want that ..  BTC is decentralized as possable...  thats the point of it..   let them fork I'll sell all the china coins for 0.000000000, and I'm a big holder, Look at my profile been on this form since 2013. Centralized btc is not what I signed up for way back then.
