Title: so i have to post a bunch of nonsense to be able to discuss something of worth? Post by: g3rmicide on May 12, 2013, 09:31:50 PM this restriction... needs to die. as being a simple machines forum is there not a plugin that will prevent spam?? ffs!!!

Post by: AzureEngineer on May 12, 2013, 09:33:41 PM There is no reason to post nonsense in the newbies board. In fact, this board has one of the highest amounts of traffic, both newb and non-newb. If you have something to discuss that is of value, the newbies board is as good as any.

Post by: Illimensky on May 12, 2013, 10:22:14 PM this restriction... needs to die. as being a simple machines forum is there not a plugin that will prevent spam?? ffs!!! As others have said, apparently new users need to spend some time familiarizing themselves with the forum. I think getting to know the forum, not spam prevention, is the main reason why the newbie restrictions are in effect. Post by: cryptopi on May 12, 2013, 10:28:18 PM I think this rule is a good one because it forces users to familiarize themselves with the forum before they can post in other areas

Post by: DarthMedicus on May 13, 2013, 03:41:58 AM I'm actually glad that this forum forces new users to start in the newbie forum. I picked up on a lot of good information, including the recently posted guide for people new to BitCoin.

No need to get your panties all in a bunch. I've been involved with Bitcoin for over 2.5 years now, and the Newbie forum still has a lot to teach. You just have to be willing to learn.
