ETH is going up fast everyday, now it has the market cap 60% of bitcoin.

It has no doubt ETH will become the biggest and new normal standard as CryptoCurrency and displace bitcoin aka "Chinacoin" before the end of July.

It's possible it will have a higher market cap. That does not mean the value proposition is the same. What ETH supporters see is BTC struggling with scaling (which is true), what people who understand these technologies and the theories behind them (economic and game theory) see that the system is working perfectly fine. ETH has is young and has huge scaling problems that may be worked out but even Vitalek himself has said that ETH is not really meant as a cryptocurrency more as an experiment of distributed computing. Some good things will come of it most likely though.

Even Vitalik Buterin once said that he doesn't believe in the success of Ethereum and I fully support his words. Ethereum is a bad monetary system and good smart contract platform.
ETH is ICO based project with poor initial distribution, there is no guarantee that a number of available ETH tokens won't rise in the future.
Ethereum is centrally controlled, planned and managed coin - we have no idea what will happen to it when Vitalik or ETH Foundation will be gone in the future.
In the meantime bitcoin creator - Satoshi already left, so we are not risking anything like that with BTC.

Hmm.. too many people commenting about the ETH market cap. It doesn't mean anything. The big players are keeping their ETH tokens away from the exchanges, thereby creating an artificial scarcity. That is the reason why the exchange rates, and the market cap is so high.

let me tell you a history,back then 'satoshi' created a coin to make it as a payment for people in this world,with this people can send their money around the world in second.because his discovery many people got an idea to improve it and make a similiar project to get bitcoin from their project and some of them created it,they called him 'vitalik buterin'.he posted his project in altcoin board and tell to the world that he's trying to make his project and his project name called 'ethereum' you can see it in altcoin board from time to time and his development so far.

China has cheap electricity, so china have favorable conditions for many mining companies to have headquarters in China and you already know that Chinese are like virus.

The increase of ETH in price and market cap is impressive, and its very popularly known and used by lots of companies, it can take the place of Bitcoin for a time, but not replacing Bitcoin in full, might not be fully accepted in place of Bitcoin.

Vitalik claims that there is Vitalik fake out there and scamming people. ETH price dip.
All the hype they created to push the price of ETH but didn't happened.

I don't trust Ethereum. The basics are not strong, and in particular I don't like the attitude of the ETH devs. They don't have a clear vision about the future. They are only interested in making money for themselves (including Vitalik).

Once again, 2 different things are being compared together with barely any evidence. I guess you are posting this, since you just saw a big fall in prices from bitcoin, and it even dipped under the 2K mark for a day.

Lets just compare the 2 currencies

Bitcoin is a decentralized currency, while ETH is a centralized option
Bitcoin introduced blockchain technology, while ETH built off it and added a couple of more features
Every alt coin requires Bitcoin to function, in order to exchange, and that can't be said for ETH

Also, Segwit almost certainly be activated, especially with over 80 percent support for it, and there is a high chance of Bitcoin prices rising heavily after the hard fork being activated.

ETH will never get ahead of Bitcoin in term of price, In total market Cap its possible due to unlimited supply of ETH, to make it short ETH will not going to takeover Bitcoin throne

It is possible ETH will have a higher market cap than Bitcoin, but that does not mean that the more people will use ETH than Bitcoin.

That may be true since China and India has the cheapest electricity prices, and the means most of the miners will probably be located in that countries.

At the state that Bitcoin is right now, Segwit is pretty much confirmed and there is a high chance of Segwit pumping Bitcoin to the moon, especially with the majority of our community supporting it.

Are you sure with your words? do you ever see the status of bitcoins compare to ETH right now? if you have spare time them try to look in marketcap so that you can see that ETH movement is pretty far for bitcoins for now and its current volume is pretty big aswell as the movements bitcoins is currently at state of surge so thinking for theirs another coin like ETH can beat Bitcoins is an sarcastic idea.

The ETH volumes are huge. But the thing to remember here is that most of this volume comes from BTC vs ETH trade. If you compare the BTC vs USD trade volumes to ETH vs USD volumes, then you can see that the former is many times greater than the latter.

Not convinced it is a platform, but it depends on what is inside it that makes the valuation, utility and all.
Once we pass our biggest issue some of the potential developments that differentiate Ethereum could well become part of Bitcoin continuing the twinning of the two for a while longer.

Yes it is becoming the biggest leading cryptocurrency in total number of hacks and exploits. their MAIN client was hacked recently and the hacker stole 32 million dollar ethereum.

the more they advertise and the more people fall for the scam and lose money (eth dropped another 10% today) the faster we reach the point where number of newbies in the market decrease.

LOL! The Chinese think ETH is not worthy to mine at this time, even with their cheap power. If ETH gains enough acceptance there will be GPU mines popping up all over China. That is if ETH doesn't self destruct first by moving over to PoW mining.

LOL, no. Chinese knew from the start that ETH is worthy of mining and will be profitable because of pump and dumps it has but they are always looking for a sure and long term investment not something that works one day and not the other.
and no i am not talking about the blockchain congestion and wallet failure. not even about all the bugs and hacks.

ETH is becoming more popular than many other altcoins that we use for trading purpose. Based on the same people think that ethereum leads the entire digital currency network. The ethereum also becoming more popular just because of the smart contracts usage in several ICO projects.

Gamblers/DarkNet sites will save BTC over ETH like the porn industry saved BluRay over HDDVD...

Etherium is coming on strong lately and will probably give bitcoin a run for it's money. There's no way to know if it will become more valuable and successful than bitcoin. It's also possible that both will be very successful cryptocurrencies long term, and if that's the case, it really doesn't matter which one has the highest price.

From a technical perspective ETH could run BTC as an ERC20 token on the ETH blockchain, together with hundreds of other tokens....There is nothing BTC can do, that ETH cannot.

If BTC wasn't a first mover, we would not even have this discussion.... :D

You don't seem to understand how PoS works or don't see its inherent problems as such. I'm confused how you would even dare to talk about centralization in comparison to Bitcoin, assuming you have a rudimentary understanding of Eths fundamentals beyond the mining process.
Accepting or ignoring that is a choice of course but deviates quite far from the philosophy with which Bitcoin was designed and gets us right back where we started.

Of course not,BTC isn´t  just the name,plainly the ERC20 token of ETH constitute a risk to many things mainly with the ease that can be created,anyone can create one of these and use it for many purposes too easily,from my point of view BTC is much safer than ETH,probably  that is the reason many people hold the trust in BTC,barely ETH can be the biggest leading cryptocurrency surpassing BTC,there is very little chance of that happening in the near future.

ETH is less than 50% of bitcoin market cap actually.
But we need both anyway. One is for storing value and other for smart contracts.

LOL. Ethereum is good but it is not good enough to replace bitcoin. Ethereum has just been hacked rececntly and I do not think that it is a good sight for investors. New coins are created everyday and many of them are even better than ethereum. If ethereum is truly a good coin, it should not be hacked too many time like that
