Title: Rockminer T1 Slushpool/Nicehash Not Working
Post by: ukoa on July 19, 2017, 05:58:12 PM
I can't get it to connect and mine at either of those 2 sites.
The url I'm using is: stratum+tcp://us-east.stratum.slushpool.com
Port 3333
myusername.worker1
pass 1234
I would prefer to use Nicehash but I'll take anything at this point..
What am I doing wrong?
Thank you for any advice

I've spent a better part of the day reading and trying to figure this out.
From what I can tell the T1 doesn't work with any pools anymore. Something about a bug in the controller.
Is this the case? Did I just waste $150? It did seem way too cheap..

Yeah, that's not cheap, not for old slow inefficient gear.

Also if it's what I'm thinking, the stratum implementation in the controller is broken. There are a couple proxy workarounds that fix about half the problem. Do a bit of digging around ASICMiner Tube issues.

The rockminers had a very broken stratum implementation which assumed certain fixed parameters in the stratum pool. Some pools provide a special port or proxy to allow them to work, such as my solo.ckpool.org . Otherwise you'll need to investigate using a proxy such as ckproxy specially set up to make them work to your pool of choice, and even then it will only work with certain pools.

I'm so frustrated.
First I bought several USB miners and learned they suck. I was able to sell most.
Now, after discovering Nicehash I bought this hope to boost my daily profit. Now I find out it's crap and doesn't work at all because of some bug.
It appears if I don't have 2 to 3k to sink into mining it's a lost cause.
It just sucks. I'm really frustrated. I really enjoy mining but I can't seem to find good equipment at a decent price.

Well that's because nobody builds for small guys anymore. Anything short of industrial (by which I mean power consumption and noise, certainly not build quality in most cases) got swept by the wayside a couple years ago.

It's probably best to research things before buying them. USB miners have always sucked, your T1 was made three years ago, stuff like that.
