I can't say for sure, but I don't remember a fight that got this much attention in social media like this one. Normally McGregor fights have a lot of impact because he just giving a show, but this one then definitely taking bigger proportions, so I think it will beat some records for sure.

What the h*ll. Reaching out 1 billion usd is already too huge and as you ask maybe they dont really earn on betting industry (correct me if im wrong) usually they do make some money on sponsors. Im really bit excited on this fight and hope they would really entertain and not to break expectations from their fans. Crowd is more in equal when it comes to supporters on each side.I dont know which would i choose  ;D

The fight generated a record 4.4 million PPV buys, HBO and Showtime announced, which produced more than $400 million in TV revenue alone. That shatters the previous record of 2.48 million PPV buys set by Mayweather and Oscar De La Hoya in 2007. That pushes the total revenue for the fight to between $550 and $595 million. Of that $500-plus million in revenue, more than $350 million will go to Mayweather and Pacquiao. Mayweather will take home between $209 and $210 million and Pacquiao will take home between $142 and $143 million.

I estimated that the fight between Floyd Mayweather and Connor will pushes around the $700 million to probably around $1 billion mark. Basing on the previous revenues of Floyd and Manny. For all we know, they are going to break that record and will be the richest boxing event of all time. I don't know what fight could generate such revenue without Floyd name in it.

We can't tell but I'm sure of it can make billions of dollars. We know Floyd is a well known money maker and his fights are earning that much, I guess this fight can hardly earn $1 B in return of their acting on stage.

We probably wouldn't know the exact figures but one thing's for sure, these two will rake up a lot of money. No exact amount to tell on how much this fight is going to make. But I'll guess it can make $500 M - $1B or even bigger. There's a lot of Pay per view for this match and shares are going to be distributed to them and for the promoting company that is holding this match.

I have read that this fight could make profit up to 1 billion dollars in generally, most in history. Match has potential to be interesting to watch but in match with boxing rules McGregor has small chance to do anything against Mayweather.

This 'battle' could be worth more than May vs Pac.  I would say it would be double what that fight was.  McGregor alone is already a major draw.  And with Mayweather promotions doing all the marketing and the promotions, I'm very confident they'll do really well and break records.

The match amount will decide based on players performance. in this game Floyd is strong and his opponent is not up to the mark. I think this match will become one side match. This kind of games will not get more hype, and when the both players are in equal form, then only the revenue will generate for hosters. That time they will increase price money, but here almost everyone fixed Floyd will win this game. So I don't think this game will make huge money.

You can't assume the total sum until the fight is over and then they put tickets bought together with payperview and other advertisements earnings before you can have a concrete figure else the best will be to speculate.

I didn't say that it wouldn't make a lot of money. I actually agree that it will most likely break all the records as far as generating revenue.  However, this fight is not going to be worth anywhere near what we're paying for to see....The outcome is obvious....it's a mismatch....if Mayweather doesn't beat the crap out of this dude, then we know it's was rigged!  If Mayweather was 15 years younger, I'd give the fight to him in the octagon too.  This little leprechaun doesn't stand a chance in the ring under the rules of boxing....his lucky charms aren't gonna help him this time!

Of course mayweather promotions are known to hype games beyond their value and thus wouldn't be different, it's obvious he will be laughing to the bank afterwards but they might sell us a sub standard game which might be the retiring game of mayweather I think.

And i think betting has a big factor on how much boxing promotions are commisioning. I have watched all the conferences of Floyd and Conor, and it's funny because they just keep on trash talking each other and they have been for a while, and that's one way to make them more modern and popular, more trash talking. Anyway, Conor said that he would be quadruple in net worth with that fight, and that's probably a lot of money. Easy money, in that case, it's just that they are going to fight which they are always doing.

Well, Connor I guess will be the most pleased with a win but I don't think we can sit afar and quantify how much the fight will make without calculating the total tickets sold coupled with the pay per view monies and the loads of sponsorship  deals involved .

That's exactly what they're selling us, a substandard fight!  Mayweather 49-0 with 26 KO's and 387 rounds in the ring, McGregor 0-0 with 0 KO's and 0 rounds experience....WTF?  How's this fight even get on a card?  Might as well throw the fat guy, who was sitting on his couch in New Jersey, when he hacked the US election, in there!

Legitimate sources are saying McGregor vs Mayweather will be the biggest fight of all time. In terms of betting it could be bigger than the superbowl which is the biggest sporting event in the united states(not certain how it stacks up on a global scale). Its amazing to think about Conor and how 4-5 years ago no one knew who he was. What Conor has accomplished in the last 4-5 years is nothing short of amazing no matter what the skeptics or critics say.

Yup, this will be an epic fight if Mayweather opens up. He's always kind of a sneaky fighter but McGregor is bullish. More than 1 billion dollars is the obvious answer for the question. Hopefully, Mayweather will win this one too like he always did.

Yes,Like what happens on the last fight of Pacquio. Boxing now were like a show that seems scripted who will gonna lose and when will the rematch will be were already planned. But still many rich businessmen and bettors will still bet on this game and can reach more than the amount gained in Mayweather- Pacquio battle before.

Its nothing tontake seriously in the first place and people know that this is only for show and money. But i'd still pay to see this. Both fighters will definitely earn millions and i think connor won t earn what he's going to earn here in the ufc. It's all about money and this may hurt boxing itself more than help it.

Nowadays fans are not looking anymore of a real competition because most them does not really understand the rules of boxing, as long as both fighters will deliver fun to the viewers they will be popular and will continue to earn money. People are saying that boxing is one of the most corrupt sports in the world but although we already know that we are still supporting the industry and shit talk really buys people's attention which both fighters has that style.

Boxing as a sports has evolved as well. Gone were the days when you see 2 actual boxers giving it all out in the ring. Right now its like fanfare and all business. Matching fighters are business now, not everyday you see champions vs champions. With all the Mayweather-McGregor fight fanfare, I will not be surprise if boxing will not remain mainstream anymore as the fights get boring every event.
