For me both coins you are trying to invest into is good and has a lot of potential to grow more in the future but I think IOTA has a better potential to grow in the future. If I were you, I would put investment on both coins dividing it into 50% each of the coins you said. That way you won't have to worry which one you would invest more money into.

I have a small bit in GBYTE, but IOTA might actually be good ATM since it dropped a lot from when it appeared, I'm already diversified as is, not investing in anything else for now.

I like Gbyte for its well maintained community (small but fine) and fair distribution.

GByte took a page from IOTA whitepaper, so I wonder how is IOTA doing.

Btw how is IOTA distributed. I see fair distribution as crucial.

GBYTE fairer distribution

I would go 70 Gbyte 30 iota

although iota still seems too expensive and not on enough good exchanges

so 80/20 as it stands now.

I like GByte, seems like they are much further then IOTA. Anything remotely functional for IOTA still seems very far away, the idea and goals are very big, but definitely something im keeping my eye on because if it does succeed it will be huge.

As per my opinion, IOTA has very big potential of growth in future, but both coins can be invested for long term, put 50-50 in both, if you want to add both to your portfolio.

Do you own BTC?  You can get GBYTE for free with the Airdrop

Yes, and it's yielding slightly over 1% :)

There are currently 3 DAG cryptos on the market, IOTA, GBYTE and XRB (RaiBlocks).

IOTA still has closed source components that needs to keep the chain alive and it already pumped to oblivion even though it's not decentralized atm.

GBYTE seems good, but as far as I saw it has transaction fees.

RaiBlocks is still a very low market cap coin, but managed to achieve a fully open source decentralized network with 0 fees.

If you want to gamble a bit, it's pretty clear which one will be a better mid/long term investment.

You should buy them both. IOTA and GBYTE are great coins with a wonderful team behind it. Its a good long term invest, if you are looking for some ;)

I would not invest in any of these two coins. The newest the alt-coin the greatest the risk. Many people were saying 6 months ago that IOTA is the next biggest thing after bitcoin, that its value will be gigger than bitcoin value is less than one year. Now after 6 months nothing happened, IOTA price is decreasing. If you want to invest in something, I would say try the bigger alt-coins, that everyone knows.

I disagree. Right now I would not be buying crypto at all. My money would be in fiat. The bubble is about to burst. It is only a matter of time at this point.

GBYTE will have an airdrop 12 days from now so after the fork (October 25), you still have enough time to buy GBYTE until they take a snap shot of the balance in GBYTE wallets in preparation of the airdrop. IOTA development is good if you have spare money to buy IOTA having both is a good idea but I am siding more on GBYTE.

I belive, that both of these coinc are a good choise.

Firstly because of used DAG technology, which is in fact a technology of next-generation used in crypto - world.

IOTA registered huge growth in a few last weeks. And I am convicted that Byteball is going to experience much more of growth in next weeks and years.

Byteball has better chance for growth, because it is already traded on bittrex, has really good working wallet released a few days ago and it is also proven.

Byteball is a really good choice for buying and making profit.
