Title: The sky has not fallen down on our head and I hope you have not sold at $1830!
Post by: crazyivan on July 21, 2017, 06:38:26 AM
There is not much to say here. I just wanted to reiterate the need to learn the value of patience in crypto. Buy when there s blood in the streets and do not sell when people re panicing. Cause that way the only ones who profit are speculators. I hope new crypto users learn this and learn it fast.

Bitcoin has survived, as discussed a few days ago, SegWit2x has locked in and it will be activated in 300 blocks. Miners have a few days to update their nodes and those who do not, well, their blocks will be rejected after activation which means they ll upgrade 100%.

There will be no Bitcoin doom. There will be no Bitcoin split.

Here is another free tip for you guys, after BTC breaks $3000+, alts will start skyrocketing again. So dont be fooled to sell while the alt market s red. Stick it to speculators. Let their buys remain unfilled!

I also agree with this, many traders right now are pulling out bitcoin from their altcoins to sell at the pumped price to secure some profit but when all of those traders will stop selling their alts than we will see substantial growth in almost every altcoins specially the one that are in top 10 list.

ETH, LTC, XRP and ETC are few alts that are worth to keep for short term profit in my opinion.

Yep I agree, before when the price dropped to 1800 a lot of people panicked and FUD seemed to have dominated the entire forum, now we have recovered and the price is back to 2.8K. The people who panic sold their coins are not regretting it and the people who bought bitcoin for so low and ignored the FUD are rejoicing. Seems like bitcoin won't drop in price until after August first.

Don't listen to FUD people, that was one of the reasons why the drop in price snowballed so hard.

I'm pretty sure a lot of people were waiting for the 1500s price levels which is why we didn't reach it in the first place. Unless something catastrophic happens I don't think we'll see sub 2000s again anytime soon, so buckle up and enjoy the ride!

I mean, bitcoin crashing to $1500 would be too far of a stretch. That's like a 50% crash down from the recent $3000 all time high. I guess the only thing you can do is buy right now right before it hits probably back to $3000. :P   or maybe wait for a slight dip again, if it ever happens.

Its just 293 blocks until rejecting non-SegWit blocks, Last 144 Blocks BIP91 - 95.8%. Yes, the dreaded split may not be happening, so for now we should be very happy. I'm pretty sure that we are going to see the price going to $3000 which we all wanted to see again and sustained. I hope you guys take advantage when bitcoin price is ~1900$ and bought a lot. And now we may never see the price plummet below 2000$ as the news have brought a positive impact to the price which is moving to 2800$.

Let me clear your doubts, it'll not come back to even $1800 mark now. People who were panicked and sold are just empty handed now and whales took the advantage of it. There will not be a split and there will not be any panic season.

Bitcoin has many eccentricities and lots of variation in price, and it also has a large learning curve. If you sold at $1830, just learn to at least temporarily HODL and wait it out. Nothing is wrong with that. One good way to buy is dollar cost averaging, which helps you accumulate coins while not waiting for a dump that may never happen.

Newbie traders will always panic on huge price moves like we had few days ago and they are the only one who will loss in such moves  ;D
If all crypto traders start to acknowledge this types of moves are normal than elite traders might not get good opportunity to make profit easily just by riding on fear of those panic traders.  ;)

I am holding my bitcoins and not going to sell them below $10k  :D

Headline is the best, the sky didn't fall on our heads, price is recovering and we can see new ETH very soon after 1 August. I agree with OP, some alts will explode very soon after bitcoins, instead panic and selling time was for buying more, its still a good time for buying bitcoin and some alts.
I'm glad that we will not see the split, that would make a big confusion here in community, and future investors would always be in fear from such things can happen. Great news for all of us, and price is showing that bitcoin is stronger then ever.

As long as people don't understand how this market works, they invest/trade with money that isn't meant to be used for such purposes, or they invest/trade with borrowed money, they will continue to panic sell with significant losses as result. Let them just do whatever they want to do, because without these panic sellers taking the price down heavily, there won't be such fantastic buying opportunities for us. I am perfectly fine with how the market has been doing throughout the years.

There were people spreading FUD and trying to convince newbies it would crash below $1000. They were probably responsible for some of the panic sellers dumping at $1800. Old timers know a 50% crash is unlikely, but newbies can be panicked into believing a 150% crash is imminent. I feel sorry for any that sold at $1800 and hope they learn never to believe the FUD again.

The price is soon going to reach $3000 but I sold my coins when it was $2000 as I had an issue with my exchange and couldn't hold those coins but now I'm waiting for 2nd-4th August to see the price which looks highly volatile now as well. With the price dropping below $1900, the market was really bad where Ether reached $140 along with all other altcoins but still the price of ETH is not 0.12 BTC as it was before the crash. BTC is back to $2700. Don't get why altcoin traders were happy as the altcoins too crashed in the market.

I wish your waiting to last for ever ;D I do not think there will be another big correction so that you may buy below $2000 levels. If you plan up to buy above $2300 then you may find entries. I guess prices may reach $2950 before august 1 and from there you may see some corrections as many people may go there for profit booking.

Honestly some of my colleagues withdraw their bitcoin to it's established lowest price before the pump because they think that recent FUD will lasts long and will continue to pull down the price while bitcoin drama August 1st is approaching. Their behaviour and lack of patience leads to waste profits and now feel regret of what they did although there is profit when they sold it during the dup. That is the one thing I won't do in bitcoin, selling while price is decreasing continously.

Even with a hard fork happening in the first place, I won't believe that bitcoin price will not be able rebound again to it's established high price. Remember that continous adoption are taking place globally so no way to think that big price crash will happened. We are talking about long term here.

It's funny how people react in different circumstances.

In case the price went down further (below recent bottom of just over $1800), people would create threads stating that they expected this to happen, and thus sold as result.

In case the price went up (which has been the case), people create threads stating that they were sure that it wouldn't go lower than what we have seen, and thus they kept hodling.

:D

The point is no hardfork that gives the more trust for bitcoin and those holders are not feeling panic due to the possibility of bitcoin to get the chain split. Remember the bitcoin will touch the new ATH after the BIP91 already done. Just become a strong holder that makes you will become strong to hold your bitcoin in your wallet and never get shaken. You all already sold your bitcoin will regret it as fast as possible.

you are misinterpreting topics and what people say. of course some are just idiots and parrots repeating shit without understanding it, i am not talking about those.
but when people say some price is the lowest and won't go any lower it is a speculation, you should read it as "the chances of going lower than X is very small that i am ignoring them".

for example i said before that below $2000 is a hard target to break and if it is broken, it won't last long. and it lasted less than 1 day and $1800 was with us only about 2 hours. obviously nobody can "predict" these things.

Well well well good thing I didn't panic when the price at $1,830 and I haven't sold my remaining bitcoins. Good thing that I had sold when the price was still higher but I regret I didn't bought back again. And I had to agree with ivan that for sure the alt coins are going to be on a skyrocketing for sure, we haven't seen action with them.

I have to agree because when i was a newbie the most common trick was buy low sell high. Those are some advice i have read to anything related to trading strategies. Indeed it is true but it is not really applicable for wise trading. And slowly that i recognize those things a lil bit later that it should becuse obviously i get some small profits. But i guess there will be a lot of new topics and strategies once the BIP 148 comes in.

Sold some of my bitcoins when price was around $2500 and started to drop more. Bought more than what i sold when price was ~$1900. Wanted to buy more as i assumed it would go further down but didn't. Still satisfied with what i have and done.  ;)

When the price was 1900 I created a thread saying you should be buying Bitcoin not dumping, and some people thought I was giving bad advice....

I thought it was ironic that everyone was whining about Bitcoin price when it was $2500+, and when it drops below $2000 people don't take advantage of it.

I believe that nothing bad will happen to Bitcoin and I keep it, but I do not sell it. I think that this is a special panic to reduce the price so that someone could buy coins at a low price.

I sold 2 Bitcoins when the price was at 2300$ and then bought 2 when the price failed to 1900$. At the end, it turned to be a quick 600$ profit in a matter of just a few hours. Perfect for paying the bills of the month. If it could be like this each month I would be very happy. Sad for those who sold at a low rate, but it was excepted to see the value come back (I didn't except to see it back so fast)
