Title: Bitcoin Network Hashrate: >=1 EXAFLOP/s. UOW!!
Post by: DanielBTC on May 13, 2013, 02:46:02 PM
"Distributed computing uses the Internet to link computers to achieve more FLOPS"

The entire Bitcoin network exceeded exaFLOP equivalent as of May 11, 2013.

We are really really really huge!

Isn't the irony in the articles who quote Bitcoin network speed in FLOPS is that there are no floating point operations in SHA256?

Actually they go to great lengths in that article to explain how they can compare the hashing speed to FLOPS even if they're not comparable.
