If it gets taken down, bitcoin will crash anyway regardless of where your funds are. If one of the smaller exchanges goes down, theres less a chance of it taking the whole system down. imo Title: Re: How safe do you find Mt.Gox? But I've just posted in the newbie section a new site/initaitive Top Bitcoin Sites: a community powered Bitcoin ranking start page (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=205982.0), which should (eventually) get rid of this issue. If it gets the right amount of attention from the community it should help figure out what services there are and which are more reliable and which are not/less.
