Ok guys, this should be a fun poll and I encourage everyone to vote.  It doesn't matter which coin you support, this isn't a discussion on which is better or any of that sort.  I just want a fun poll and let's try to keep everything light.  :)

Monero and Litecoin are basically tied at 44 USD to 45 USD.  This should be a good race.  Please post your comments below after voting.

Haha I like this thread. Although I have sympathy for LTC and their community, I see XMR winning this race.

Although I like both coins and Litecoin seems to be doing well after Charlie quit his job at coinbase.
But i vote for Monero.

I vote for Litecoin. It is more volatile and it will hit 100usd earlier, I am not sure if it can be stable there.
However Monero is a boring stable coin. It will hit 100usd anytime for sure, but this will be later than Litecoin. And when it hits 100usd, it will be stable there.

I wish Monero to reach that point, but I think that Litecoin has a better chance.
Somehow Monero seems not to target a good pricing, which may be good at the end - let's continue to build Monero become the best currency first.

Well, Monero community are people want the price of this coin can stable first, they not hope it increasing as other altcoin on market in current. And you can see with few months ago, the value of Monero (USD) always stable although have bloodbath or panic.

I hope litcoin will reach i really missed the opportunity buy  litecoin when it was really low when charly lee joined LTC by leaving coinbase . I hope LTC will run first before Monero.

Litecoin has always been the last to pump so my bets are on Monero.

Even with all of this BTC price instability Monero has been very stable and tracking its BTC price well. This is a great coin with huge future potential.

Basically nobody is buying Monero outside of America, with the majority of volume going through Polo alone when it goes through a pump cycle.  Meanwhile LTC is being traded on every major exchange on every continent, and has established itself as a hedge against bitcoin, and being that it scales better than Monero it fills that role more fully from a technical standpoint.  Monero is a good project, but I really feel like their fanboys never look at the logistics, and unless it gains ground in Asia then I am sorry to tell you that LTC will win this one.

I will vote for monero. I were remember that the bitmixer already closed its service due to the make the bitcoin to be more transparency. There is no a reason for another mixer service to be exist in these days. i think the demand of the anonymous crypto should go to the monero.

I wont buy ltc or any altcoins till 2nd august, i am pretty sure they gonna be cheap at that time frame and i guess xmr will be the next one to reach 100$+ than ltc.

Couple months ago I said that ltc is far behind many coins in price, that is changing in last month or two. I bet on LTC, in last few months or more on poloniex ltc is always in the top of trading volume list, there were many speculations that ltc will go to 100$ before the end of this year.
This will be interesting race, maybe its best to buy both and make double profit, there is always a chance for both of this coins to get to 100$ in similar time.

At least with these two Rises been fairly gradual. Some of the newer coins will come out week later that shoot past that number, sit there for 20 minutes and drop to virtually nothing. It seems that the more gradual the rise, then the more gradual the fall.

Not only Monero, Zcash, Pivx are best choice after the news Bitmixer closed. I think in next time we will have more change on market and the price of altcoin with functions anonymous, privacy as Monero will increasing more now.

If the analysis of the graph, monero more potentially close to 100 dollars, anyone dare to bet with me?

LTC has a good chance of reaching $100 first, then XMR will make a surprising upward movement on marketcap in the next few months.

This is turning out to be a close battle.  We need waaay more votes to absolutely see what the community really thinks in general.  C'mon people!  Cast your votes and be heard!  ;)

It is interesting to see the development on Github and number of commits, here BTC, LTC and Monero are leading the field. The LTC developers mostly take the code from BTC so their development commits are similar to those of BTC, Monero on the other hand can not do that and have own development which is only a little bit behind that of BTC.

This shows how healthy and fundamentally strong the XMR project is.

I think for now it all depends to the news, in normal conditions litecoin is more floating coin.

Wow it looks like XMR is getting the upper hand right now.  Does anybody know what's going on with it?  I've heard and read that there's a hedge fund investing in XMR?  I haven't looked into it yet to make a comment.

I vote for LTC, Litecoin has many supporters like south korea. has a lightning fast transaction and good to use it everywhere.

Code seems more developed and there are some nice improvements one the roadmap like Fluffy Blocks and Kovri.

Definitely Litecoin(LTC). I don't trust Monero(XMR) at all. Recently they release fake announcement which makes me fall for it. They are dirty. I lose a lot of money from that. Actually i don't like these two altcoins. But only one choice left. Im more on Ethereum(ETH). Litecoin will go first at $100. We'll see that soon.

+2 bn for a test network of Bitcoin seems expensive, I'll put my money on XMR

Actually I've invested in cloud mining of both XMR and LTC, but after sometimes I allocated all into LTC.

XMR/BTC is decreasing day by day. XMR/USD sometimes increased only because btc was raising.
LTC/BTC increased enough this year
I am sure ltc till have a potential to go up. But i can not say same thing for XMR. even during bull time this year, the price was so stable. Investors do not trust ,n XMR anymore...

BTC-e and Bitmixer are down, i see a huge increase of demand in near future.

maybe btc-e and the end of bitmixer while shine a light on xmr. bitcoin getting segwit will take some of the light away from litecoin.

^ That could happen.  Sooner or later the market will know that Monero is to 'go to' cryptocurrency for privacy and fungibility, if that matters for the kind of payments that you do. 

They will climb together and it will be close - but my bet is that Monero makes it in the end.

So far both cryptocurrencies are in the same price range again.  a few days a go I thought XMR would start breaking out and leave LTC in the dust, only to have a group of whales selling it down and keeping the price low (at least that's what I think that's happening).  It's a time of accumulation for both, let's see who starts pumping first.  The one who does could be the winner.

the reason why is because if we look at the previous crypto industry pump, before ripple, ltc, nxt, xem pumped, monero is the first which jumped by few multiplier

Although i dont know much about XMR, But LTC Is fork of btc with changes, XMR seems to be a good privacy coin IIRC i read at somewhere in bttalk

Looking at the marketcap, for each $1 Monero increases its cap, Litecoin must increase by $3.40 just to keep up in a race to $100 pr coin.

Given that I vote Monero as I can't make up my mind based on my very limited knowledge on other relevant factors to consider.

From the looks of it i honestly think Monero (XMR) will break out first mainly because of its privacy capabilities which makes it more likely to be demanded for than Litecoin (LTC)  in spite LTC showing to be valued approximately a dollar higher atm.

XMR was very close to $100 yesterday, about $95. It went down a bit but still much closer to $100 than LTC.

Hope to see the winner in the September.

It does not matter, they have different supply and you are comparing its prices. Litecoin needs extra 2 billion to reach $100 and it was $4 months ago. Monero is very stable in the long term.

Monero definitely will worth much more in coming years, and 100$ is really nothing. Best would be to store it and forget about it. LTC is also one of my favorites and i believe it can go up 10x up, so better arms yourself with patience.

Seems like Monero managed to pull itself way ahead of LTC and have just cross the line (more than slightly) beyond $100, standing now at > $120 USD..

I almost forgot about this thread.  Well, well, well...  Yup, Monero surely won the race.  But I wonder why Litecoin isn't going up anymore after all the good news that came after they activated Segwit.  Will we see LTC get left behind once again?

Litecoin already had a spike in its price before and there's nothing in it besides just SegWit and faster transactions should not be the only reason why anyone would buy it and hold. XMR had been into everyone's eyes since it went way up from $2 once (when I bought it and did the worst mistake of selling it for $10) to $50 and XMR is holding $100 atm due the value of Bitcoins in fiat is higher too. As well, XMR had been listed at one of the major (Korean if I'm not wrong) exchanges which translates a volume of over 850 mln USD being traded per day which is not a small thing at all and I guess we are yet to witness the real part.
