A negative week in bitcoin?? You yourself are negative. Nothing bad have happened. There were lots of people believed that bitcoin price fall very much as we get closer to August 1. Now we see the price at 2500 dollar.

What negative news?  The SEC ICO thing?  That's all I've read on this forum,
and bitcoin itself isn't doing badly by any means.   We dropped a couple hundred
but that's normal for any crypto.  In any case, bitcoin has been through bad news
reports many times and still come out waaay on top.  No worries here.

Just relax man look at the bright side the price is still high and if the other coin is dropping down ,
Take the opportunity to buy some at low price it would be the best thing to do while the price is being dump,
And we could just hope that the coins that we bought would recover and the price would start to rise up.

There's always been negative news about bitcoin since it came to existence but bitcoin has defeated there all, it's still there and it's strong enough to fight all this negativity. I don't know. It has been a rough week for cryptos but nothing that is horrible. Also, Bitcoin is still in a really good place value-wise. It was in the mid 2800s just this weekend. Just breathe, bitcoin is still decentralized so let 'the powers that be' coup all they want. As long as normal people keep using BTC, we will still maintain a vast majority.

Now should August 1 cause a stir we can talk about the world being on fire but even that was minorly resolved in the last week.

There is absolutely no bad news at all for bitcoin, in crypto world, almost every day brings a new drama for bitcoin. But, till now, bitcoin has proved to be awesome and has fought with every issue, always survived everything like that.

Bad news is still news, more awareness, ppl upping their security, and post-bad-news usually a nice pump happens. Sometimes it's best not to keep up with it - it's like TV reporting all the murders and fearmongering daily to condition you to be negative and anxious. Turn it off and come back in a few weeks to check on it you'll save yourself some premature gray hair :). OR use the news to your advantage, buy more, get ready to sell some, whatever.

Bad news only make the prices of bitcoin lower and it will create a good chance for us to collect more cheap bitcoin. Bitcoin is awesome and right now, we can hope that there will be a dump which is good enough for us to buy more bitcoin right after the hard fork.

I see the current situation as positive - even with all the negative news the BTC price is still high, despite a few wobbles. It's certainly not looking like any kind of crash.

You should be used to it, it's been happening all the time. And what's good about it this will give an advantage for those traders and whales that wants to buy at dip. When the buying starts that will be the right time for those holders to see the price of bitcoin get up again, agenda's propaganda's are everywhere and it's here in crypto.

Let's say it is negative with the news of network splitting (which is tend to happen) is surrounding in the internet, what can you do about it? Nothing.

About what you are talking? Main negative news so far that btc-e owner was arrested. I don't see any more important bad news. Maybe you talking about that bitcoin price decreased a bit? It's not bad, it's just an opportunity to buy more bitcoins before price increase!

I think the OP was referring to Bitmixer closing down, BTC-e owners arrested and possible the trading platform will itself close. AlphaBay being shutdown by the government. And the feared Aug 1 date is just 5 days from now.

But I agree that bitcoin has already proven its resiliency in facing this kind of adversity and will come back even stronger. It will survived no matter what roadblocks or bumps comes along the way.

You are being late with the news if I we're to ask what is the negative week, I think it happened last week where bitcoin price dumped back to one thousands. After that week the bitcoin price regain it's current price at two thousands so I think the negative news are done and it is being replaced by the positive news now.

If you've been in the cryptoworld for atleast a year, you would know that trends like this are normal and very common. That's one small downside of having a decentralized platform. I personally would be more worried if all we get is good news.

Negative news or positive news is still news for Bitcoin and it helps people awareness of the existence of Bitcoin. Negative news will not stop as its a known strategy even in real life, if you cant beat them by offering a better product, spread bad publicity to bring them down, but in the end Bitcoin is still king. Negative news is being used by those who wants to buy BTC at low or discounted price, they spread FUD and once the price is down, they buy and those who panicked loose.

True. It is still publicity for bitcoin. We all know that bitcoin is purely driven by speculation so any negative news will really have a impact to the price. If you've been in the crypto world for that long, then we should not be affected by this news. Its part of the crypto world as I have said, the price is driven by speculation. One day you will get a news that will impact the price, like Japan legalizing bitcoin. Or some negative news like Bitmixer closing it mixing services a few days ago. it honestly hasnt even been that bad. Look how well BTC is holding still. It went down to 1900 a week ago and its not even close to that right now

If you think that what's happening the last few weeks is bad news, then you have not been around for too long. The price surged too fast too soon in the first few months of 2017 so it is but natural for some to take profits which would naturally bring the price down. The price I believe is in recovery stage and the long term outlook still looks very good. These short term bumps are just part of the journey and you shouldn't panic as this causes unnecessary FUD, especially to newbies.

Lol, I see only good news... BTC price dropped a lot some weeks ago and we could buy Bitcoins for $1980, so it went to near $2800, so we could sell it and have an opportunity to buy again now or soon (for $2500 or less). There won't be HardFork for now, we are safe and the expectatives for BTC price are very good from August onwards. I believe that is the last call for Bitcoin, buy it now cheap while you can!

I think we should be use to this pumps and dumps as bitcoin is a virtual currency so it does always fluctuates.
When there's a sudden downside many anticipated that soon bitcoin will recover sooner. So nothing to worry about and take this negative week of yours as a opportunity week to buy some coins.

There are so many speculations flying around the web as to the many scenarios that may transpire on the said date and many of these speculations are just that and nothing more. Will there be a split? It depends on how you look at it. For me, more price drops mean more opportunities to buy cheap coins. No matter how hard the dips are, the price still tends to go up and pursue higher highs compared to where it was before. Also, the fork drama alongside other 'bad' news is great.

Looking back on years when bitcoin when it was first launched and the time that I got to know bitcoin I may say that bitcoin is super successful right now if I will look on the price of it.  It is part of bitcoin success if its price will go up or down because that it how it used to be.  Bitcoin is a strong digital currency compared to any digital currency right now.  It is the firs and most recognized so there is no reason for people to just leave bitcoin because of the bad news we received.  It is just part of its success.

AlphaBay closure should not be classified as bad news. We should encourage actions like this, because it is more damaging to us that sites like this is using Bitcoin for illegal activities. The voluntary closure of Bitmixer.io is sad, because I think it did more good than bad.

The BTC-e thing is still hanging in the air, but it looks like a money laundering front and that is also not good for Bitcoin's reputation.

I cannot agree more. For an investment asset to be successful it should be popular among masses. Any news which can bring Bitcoin in mainstream media is not bad. People will ultimately know about it and would know the success story of Bitcoin and how it has proven to be the investment today. It was indeed a month of ups and downs. But this volatility and speculations are inevitable in decentralised market as that of Bitcoin.

I think this is a big event, it will mark the development of bitcoin in the future, it will not encounter any other obstacle, it will develop stably. And after that it is the whole altcoins market, they will grow strongly.

Bad news or negative news regarding bitcoin and other digital currencies is quiet common. If you go through the entire history of bitcoin's growth the way it travelled has got more negative news against it. The same has been overcome by it and has benefited the users, so we the users need to consider even the negative news in a positive manner.

I think bad news was ended already. All those bad things that happened during last two weeks was just a game of speculators. Those people who wished to fall the price and buy bitcoin's cheaper got what they wanted by all this negative news, which provoked the mass panic. From now bitcoin will move just forward.

Patience people. BTC will not make you rich withing 6 months. If you re not prepared to wait years for this, u re in the wrong industry, this is not HYIP or Diamond mining.

Bitcoin will always recover, but the fud and trolling and other drama will never stop. At this point I don't think any trader here even wants it to stop, as this is what gets the market to move big time. Even non traders benefit from these price swings as they are being presented a decent opportunity to buy at lower levels. Regarding after the 1st of August, even after that date things will not settle as we then have to hard fork to mess things up. It may take three months before the hard fork is supposed to kick in, but time moves quick, don't underestimate its potential negative effect on the market.

The OP is pertaining to that specific week where bitcoin's price is so low that many of sold their bitcoin while they still can. He is not being negative about it, he's just stating facts and wishing us to get past this. I guess you didn't notice when the price of bitcoin went south? it is really a bad week for us and I even converted and sold some of my bitcoin hoping that I can make a profit out of it because I thought that it will still go down.

It is? No, I think it is becoming normal. Bitcoin is already a successor. Most of the people are panic selling because of the dipping, where those who are calm just waits for that kind of opportunity to buy and invest. No one knows when will it end because it is still kickin' in the market. Now that there are more people awared of the advantages and there are countries that made it legal. Nah I don't think this week's prices are due to bad news. Because the prices as of right now are tolerable. Even I tolerated the price of Bitcoin when it got down to 1800 dollars. To answer your question Bad news will not end as long as there are critics and people who have different views with Bitcoin it will not end. Negative people will always find negative news, you have to be positive in life to attract postive news. Bitcoin for me is symbol of positivity, when it crashed to 1800$, I opened my wallet and said to my self it shall rise and it shall rise handsomely, I told everyone the bull run shall begin I am quite positive and look it did indeed happen, your thoughts become things, for me I am always positive on bitcoins and have got some amazing results so far.

BTC-e hasn't been hacked or something they shut down their service because the owner of btc-e was arrested and charged for money laundering and according to some articles online, btc-e wallets was also found to have contained coins connected to a hack on Mt Gox in 2011, as well as a hack on an exchange called Bitcoinica in 2012.

Yes bitcoin will end if price is over dump of what you have mentioned. There is always a news about bitcoin if someone think of the negative issue about it lets just think of the positive side. Bitcoin price is still high if we can analyze and observe the price now and before it has a big difference. In the sense that its price is still fluctuating this means bitcoin is still active.

After some time bitcoin will recover to get its position again in the market. I really dont see the bad news that you are talking about, Bitcoins is currently soaring after a minor setback and the Bitcoin Cash seems to be fluttering, i don't think its gong to be that successful and thus there will just be one bitcoin currency in the system. In my understanding the news is true information. All that we see around bitcoin lately is the manipulation of public opinion. Someone wants our coins. There is no point in sharing. This will lose everything. I do not believe that all in an instant wanted to commit suicide.

The entire history of bitcoin has been bad news after bad news, it hasnt stopped it from surviving and I dont think this week is any different. Even when things look very down and gloomy, things always seem to continue. If you get burnt out, the best thing to do is take a break for a week or so then come back.

The market for this week is very positive and I haven't seen any bad news for now. And I'm not expecting that there are articles and bad news that are about to show soon as August 1 ends. I know when bitcoin is rising those people that are jealous of success will never end for doing such funny articles.

Yeah we should be optimistic. These bad news may had badly affect the market price of bitcoin causing a sudden dump but bitcoin had recovered. We should consider the dump as an opportunity to buy bitcoin and other crypto currencies so that we could invest. Bitcoin will not easily disappear because of those news besides it had clearly made an announcement that the split is not happening, only the segwit which will help bitcoin to get higher again. It's just a normal reaction for any bitcoin users who invested too much on bitcoin, but bitcoin has been through too many years before and bitcoin is still active because of the users support. It's just normal to happen through bitcoin because it is starting to cope changes with the multiple debates coming from different sides whether they will split coins into two or not.

There were not so good news, but deffinetly not on this week. Couple of weeks ago when bitcoin dropped to 1900$, yes, but right now everything seems good, only ETH is shaking( i think ETH would be also fine after august 1st)

If ETH is shaking, what will happen then? But I guess it will soon recover. Negative issues keep on coming due to irregularities of the growth of bitcoin and the price as well. Yes, After the segwit we might see the price of bitcoin on the moon. Theres a lot of fuds for bitcoin but still it managed to be hold on 2000usd. a great support for bitcoin and I know that from august 1 BIP91 will be activated so the price might go up and also for the alts.

Yeah even with bitcoin cash I don't see any bad news on the horizon for bitcoin. Considering its survived all the FUD and panic just fine imagine how much it will go up once that FUD is gone.

I had my doubts when i first heard about the split and i really panicked and when the price of bitcoin started going down when we were at the mid of this month i thought we are going for a while ride with the price and so i had to book my profits with some of my coins and then after the recovery i did have the ability to buy back at the perfect time and with a day left ,i am pretty confident everything ends up well and i am willing to hold for the long haul even if the price goes down after the fork.

Bitcoin has established itself as the frontrunner of cryptocurrency. People will naturally talk about it. Some are jealous about its success. Some are supporting it all the way.

I also saw an article that it's unlikely going to happen but majority is saying there will be a split so I had to believe with majority. I did the same thing of panic selling but I wasn't able to recover some with buy back. Well that's how life's going and I just hope that we are now on the next day of August and will just pass August 1.

The split created a fear among the users but then everything became alright. I think there is no more need to be afraid of. Just a few hours left I hope everything will be fine. Many of the people converted their bitcoin to alts at the time when price got low but now most of them have bought back the bitcoin. I am lucky I don't convert my coins.

If fork bad news? I'd say no because it won't steal value from bitcoin. It's just another altcoin without much acceptance. It's actually worse than some altcoins that excel in some areas like anonymity or transaction cost and speed.

Well the bad news is over. We are now seeing the price of bitcoin increasing in just a matter of days after so much negativity surrounding Aug 1. The massive FUD going around is all gone now and we are being repaid by our faith in bitcoin by having its prices moves and past $3000 now. So maybe we can all be calm by now and enjoy watching the trading platforms price of bitcoin going up.

Bad news will never ends because that is how they are trying to control one another like bitcoin because if there is a bad news then the people who are not well educated will rely on that news and their emotion will suck their beliefs and they will just sell their coins for a low price and worse, selling it and getting some losses. The bad news was ended after Aug 1 positive remarks are being recorded like the value continue to goes up and great achievements has been established like countries are in line to adopt bitcoin. Fours days after, bitcoin reached $3500 dollars.

It won't end. There would always be a bad news. It is a cycle, when the bitcoin's value decreases, traders will buy bitcoin until the supply gets somehow low, and then the demand for bitcoin will increase as well as the price. This is just a continuous cycle bitcoin would always face these problems.

I think that bitcoin is only going through some development phase and there would be some problem but overall Bitcoin is doing a great job as it's value has increased so much and it had handled fork pretty good.Of course there are some bad news and there will always be bad news.And many investors like to have some bad news as it might fluctuate and they can make profit.

I don't think there has been any bad news. We've seen a dip in the valuation of coins, as a result of people selling off and being worried about a Chinese announcement. A move that'll actually stabilise and increase confidence in cryptos in the long run. So, if you're a day trader, sure you might have seen a few coins fall, but we're all buying into cryptos as a whole and generally as a longer term investment - this is good in that respect. It might not immediately bounce back, but I think it's a positive in the long run and we'll start to reap the benefits over the next few months and beyond.

It seems that someone is being hurt by the rapid growth of bitcoin and the insane leap of price so that's why the government and the centralized banks started to take action before  bitcoin becomes out of hand. I think bad news had passed for now though I do not think that this FUD, bad news and negative rumors will end.  It will be lurking around Bitcoin market and will surface once it finds the chance.  Just like the upcoming implementation of Segwit, they will FUD about FORK for sure.  But well I hope people have learned that this kind of FUD shouldn't be taken seriously.
