I just saw a bird fly by my window.

It didn't affect the price. (surprisingly)

Amazon Coins = Microsoft Points

I see no relation whatsoever to bitcoin. And I'm wondering why you do.

the masses love amazon. if their coin gets hyped like btc, masses will adopt it. of course it is not the same thing. but will the people care about the difference, once it is hip to have amazon coins?

It's a centralized system and it has nothing to do with Bitcoin.

Move along.

Amazon coins have very limited usage.

Bitcoins have an immense variety of uses.

Amazon coins are centralized

Bitcoins are [relatively] decentralized.

"AZC" is closed source

BTC is open source

AZC is absolutely not anonymous

BTC has the ability to provide anonymity

I could go on and on... You get the point.

I'm pretty sure Amazon Coins are not even transferable... which is laughable.

Yeah, it's effectively another gift card system. I can't imagine many people buying coins and holding onto them longer than it takes to purchase an app, just to get a 10% discount. This will die out in a year or two, imo.

It's not even closely related to Bitcoin.

Think of it like a gift card, but a little different.

Problems with Amazon coins

- You can't transfer them to another person
- You can't redeem them for dollars or other currencies
- You can only use them to buy apps for your Kindle. You can't even use them to buy books for your Kindle! And forget about anything on amazon.com
- They are 100% controlled by Amazon who can devalue or destroy them at will (look at frequent flyer miles).

Basically just a gift card, but worse since they are not transferable.

They are just a way to get people to buy more kindle apps. I'm guessing Amazon thinks people aren't buying enough.

How idiotic can you be to post this on a Bitcoin forum?

This has absolutely fuck all to do with bitcoin. This is just a pre-pay credit system for use exclusively on Amazon content.

It's like a 3 year old puts "bitcoin" next to "amazon coin" because they both share the word "coin". LOL.

It's relevant to bitcoin because Amazon is trying to capitalize on the success of bitcoin with this marketing trick. People out there who don't know anything about bitcoin are likely to think that Amazon coin is a competitor.
