But, what are you looking from the scam ico? I have some reasons how to define the scam ico as far as I know. As you can see most of the scam ico just offer the copy pasting idea. like what was happen with super computing and another crappy idea. The scam project will never update the github code with the new update. That gives a real reason that the team is really unprofesional.

Some important point that may be interesting to state:

I've seen a lot of people crying for scam, but when you look deeper, you only see suspicions, interpretations, allegations and stuff.
In this topic, are you gonna state "alleged scams" or "officially confirmed scams"?

i wouldnt go so far as to say scam, but a big problem is that most of ico investors dont really care if the project is "profitable"
even some crypto gurus are looking for very abstract features, innovation is good but when more money needs to be poured in than comes out it is actually a ponzi sheme.

crypto investors funding projects that dont make any money is an issue.

on the other hand icos are a opportunity to get a major share in a company IF the company gets really successful

I already experience a lot of these one investing and then there will be no update from the dev and it will become a scam also there are some instance where you already invested in the ICO price and then when the token was already in the market but the price was become the ICO.

This is interesting to discuss, because people have to see the thread before investing in it so do you think which one is or will potentially become a scam ico ?

Good idea, it would be also be great to add some pump targets so we all know when to sell.
This thread needs to be stickied.

People will start calling every single altcoin a scam if you do that and it won't work unless you want to call the whole of crypto including bitcoin a scam.

I don't believe that scams exist. Maybe is because I have never been scammed in all the ICOs I have invested in. How do you spot a scam ICO? Since I can see most threads in the Alt subforum are all about scams. Some even accuse proper ICOs that they are scams. All allegations without any evidence, surely that is what makes me believe that scams don't exist.

SCAM ICO is really there, I've experienced it in egas, icash, and now Minexcoin (idk), I do not want you to feel what I feel, and also I do not want to see them laugh to see us fooled, therefore we share SCAM ICO Here!

Good for you that you've never been into a scam project. I hate to break this to you but they do exist. For example this one : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2009260.0

The bounty thread and ann thread is already abandoned and there are solid evidences that this ICO is a scam. This is a sad experience for all the investors and bounty participants. ICO's like this one should not be tolerated.

The SCAM coin is there, it seems not much, I see to this day the more real coins dominate. Although we know their value is different. I think that's normal.

Yes it is, as I've stated above. The true SkyWay Company has already released a statement telling that they have no connections with this ICO. SkywayICO is a real scam.

I have experienced being scammed and therefore I learned some ways to identify if an ICO is a scam or not but my judgement is not that accurate all the time. I look first to their announcement thread, and if the info's given can be verified I try to verify if the written one's is true. Another thing to spot too is if the idea proposed by the project itself seems to be made on a whim, although it is hard to recognize.

This thread is suitable to be embedded, this is really useful, mprep should see this, you really have a good idea to create a thread.

I have a question, how do you think of minexcoin and exscudo?

The cryptocurrency community has had to deal with a number of scam ICO campaigns over the past several years.

There are several signs of a potentially fraudulent ICO:
 anonymous developers,
the lack of an escrow wallet
and unclear or unrealistic goals are among the most telling ones.

It is almost impossible to recognize which one is scam or legit ICO, this is biggest problem here. In both cases we have large amounts of money invested is start so everything looks very nice and shiny. And  investrs are qulity why they don't share critical information and why they do not investigate more.
Why don't we have Topic of shame? Scam accusations are accusations..

With the current state of Ethereum and the ICOs we all must be very careful. Also why would somebody invest in a project that doesnt need to be on the blockchain? People currently are milking the market.

I think this is really SCAM, because he just dared to bring his coins in yobit, and in yobit full of SCAMMER, I'm sure polybius will not get into bigger market, it will only stop at yobit

I think it is not so reasonable to say polybius is a scam because of listed in a small platform, I think it is better to dig the information about the team and its development. For me, I think this project is on my watch list.

If you don't wanna be in scam ico or investment. The first thing to remember is know the developer and it's background. Also known if the use of the coin is really useful in the market. In short check it's feasibility. If it's an obvious scam then most probably it's scam.

I actually don't see why we should discuss this. You can't tell if ICO is a scam or not just by judging how they present themselves to the public. They might do all the things they mention. And I don't speak about obvious scams.

Maybe he just looks at the outside to think that ico project is a scam, because he does not see how they work very seriously in building this project, I think he before talking about ico scams should first see how they work for this project.

Not all the coins that enter the Yobit exchange are Scam coins, that's a lie to me.
A coin will develop if dev is serious about building the project. The good coins first just enter the small exchanger, but then we can not guess.
I believe polybius is a good project.

Any project can be a Scam. It does not depend on the desire of its founders. It depends will the project support people. From this we can conclude that the success of any project depends, first and foremost from us. There are many people who made ICO and there are many people who have lost their money. The chances are 50 to 50.

After taking the presale ETH from everyone, their website is now down, all social media accounts deleted.  I think this is a scam.  Hoping to be proven wrong.
