Title: Forum Ads - ziber Post by: Lutpin on July 30, 2017, 07:27:21 AM The forum currently advertises Ziber.io in one of its adspots (https://bitcointalk.org/adrotate.php?adinfo).
Since the start of this round, their smart contract was hacked (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2008297.msg20425804#msg20425804) and investors funds were stolen. The address currently shown on their page is not a smart contract address as claimed, but just a regular ETH address. Any funds sent to this address are most likely going to be lost/stolen. I know the forum shows that small disclaimer below ads, but in a case as blatant as this (like with bitcoinblackfriday before), the ad just should be removed, imo. I do some basic research on ads before accepting them in order to avoid ads for things which could be unexpectedly risky for forum users (eg. I just refused an ad for a brand new site which takes deposits, as that is generally risky), but I can't catch them all, unfortunately. In this case, I did my investigation around the 15th, which predated those scam accusations. After that, I didn't notice that there were any problems or I would've pulled it immediately. |
