BTC-E at 99. Given that Mt. Gox USD cannot be withdrawn easily right now, this is probably the best indicator of market price.

Edit: now 97

That is not true. Obviously you don't use Mt.Gox services.

There is some positive press about BTC right now too though, plus the conference might bring some positive things into light.  Maybe it will balance out.  It is only one payment method (dwolla) that has been interrupted.

If you live in the US, the only ways out of Mt. Gox are through Camp BX and through Coinbase, both expensive. Some find it cheaper to buy BTC and withdraw that way.

I don't want to spend time explaining so I will just quote a post I saw.

I don't understand the mass sell-off and panic.

You can still use Dwolla -> BitInstant -> MtGox

Or Dwolla -> CampBx

Or BitInstant Cash deposit -> Key -> MtGox

Or Bank Transfer ->MtGox

Or Dwolla ->Okpay -> MtGox

Should I go on?

 O FUG THE GUVMENT TYIN TA SHUT DWN BITCOIN

Guise, srsly, our market cap is what it would probably cost to shut it down. We're such a small piece of the pie I can't see any major body (for the time being) giving a second thought to the power we attribute to bitcoin.

Yep. You can get fiat into Mt. Gox but not out. Therefore, Mt. Gox prices are unreliable.

Aurumxchange is still working.

that's actually my post from another thread.

That's what inspired this thread

Well that crash lasted like 20 mins?

I'm glad that I obsessively watch the market, that was fun and educational

The crash has not started yet. That was the warmup.

I stopped being a permabull after the crash from $266. Bitcoin is at the cusp between over- and under-valued right now. Any small movement can elevate into a large one.

It's worked out well so far. I went short in the $125 zone down to $110 because of the CoinLab lawsuit. I'm shorting again now.

Disclaimer: I own bitcoins—the shorting is a hedge to my exposure. My net exposure remains positive.

F you W. and F you homeland security.

I'm beginning to think that the US's AML laws are as outdated as their copyright laws.

Napster and bittorrent destroyed the music business.

Bitcoin will destroy the dollar.

Now this is what I call a Bearapocalypse.....which is made up of a series of events that seem likely to de-value BTC.

The full effect shall not be happening until all this week.I think we can pretty much preclude there won't be any major USD flowing into Gox soon and I wonder if this has anything to do with the Coinlab/Gox lawsuit that made the authorities look into this further?

I think we can obviously expect quite a bit of selling over the next few days.

Hate to say it but I agree. I think this shit that happened here recently is going to have the people who were ready to pull the trigger wait now on the sidelines.

Interesting next few days.....

Obviously? Nonsense!

Remember this....?

Government cracks down on fiat payment method?

Bitcoin user not affected.

Furthermore the world is a lot bigger than the USA.

I agree with that sentiment. Either I'll make it or I'll die.

I think the big money is trying to hold Bitcoin stable through this conference. It's right in Silicon Valley, too important to showcase a wildly fluctuating product to investors. I think they might let go of the reigns after and it'll shoot up quick as companies start making grabs.
