Title: Removing Multibit section
Post by: OmegaStarScream on July 31, 2017, 11:52:09 AM
I'm going to guess that the sub-sections in alternative clients section were created by a request from the developers? and they are maintained by them (ThomasV for Electrum, Rassah for Mycelium etc.).

Jim sold his wallet to KeepKey and didn't connect since then and they definitely didn't do a good job supporting people who had issues so now after they dropped the project 100%, It could be a good idea to remove the section or make at least a sticky thread there letting people know that the wallet is no longer supported by the developers and shouldn't expect much in the future.

I know that the community is still here to help but all it takes is a few major updates in the future. on Bitcoin and that wallet will be impossible to use.

Perhaps the board should be moved to the Archival (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=59.0) section.

I don't think that this should be done immediately though, since there are likely still people using the Multibit wallet. Perhaps after the Segwit2x Hard Fork, if it goes through, as the wallet will be incompatible at that time.

That's why I suggested making a sticky thread first.

And just to avoid making another thread, It's being a couple of weeks since Rassah didn't connect and he repeatedly stated on Telegram & Twitter that he left the Mycelium team so It could be a good idea to put another moderator on that section as well.

It'll be moved to Archival after a few months.

If someone wants to post something, I can sticky it.
