Title: Emergency
Post by: gishab56 on July 31, 2017, 09:43:01 PM
All of exchanges that i am using, closed their bitcoin wallet for deposit and withdrawal. Some of them want to take my BTC and give me BCC instead. This is certainty and they said on news.

BCC's value is 0.1 BTC at now.

What should i do for holding value of my BTCs in dollars?
Some of them hasn't any option for trading BTC/USD.
Should I exchange my BTC with ETH?

Always keep BTC in your private wallets and don't trust exchanges to secure your coins for you. Control your own private keys at all times.

How can you claim BCC's value is at 0.1 when Bitcoin Cash has not even happened yet?

The fork doesn't happen until August 1st and it is currently July 31st. LMAO

Which exchanges are doing that? I don't think any services announced they are replacing BTC with BCC.

I believe some exchanges (Kraken, Bitfinex, several Chinese exchanges) will be crediting BCC to BTC holders in addition to there BTC holdings, and may open markets for the new coin. But from everything I've read (and aside from the regular counterparty risk you always have to be careful with), all the exchanges are either ignoring BCC or giving it to their users on top of their current holdings.

That's a terrible mistake leaving your bitcoins with exchanges, they can come and give you any story tomorrow about how they lost your bitcoins and that's nothing you can do, it's advisable to always store them in preferably an offline wallet.

What I see on Yobit is that my BTC is still there intact, and I got equal amount of BCC there. I think they distribute BCC 1:1 with your BTC. Everything seems correct to me.

And I sold my BCC at 0.14 BTC/BCC, pretty happy, lol.

Warnings have been issued. If the exchange you use is switching to BCC, now you have BCC. BCC isn't live yet, so the price is speculative, and consider it as a token... If you want out, just sell it for an altcoin.

Nobody replaces your BTC with BCC. I've never heard this from anybody else in the forum. If they support BCC, they provide you BCC in 1:1 ratio of the BTC you hold there. Nobody replaced your BTC by turning them into BCC automatically.

But if these new alternative coin become a hit and have a good price, you will be regretting that you did not move your coins wherein you can get the same number of BCC. But I think I don't mind selling them off when I have a chance.

You will not have your BTC replaced by BCC. You will either get both or just BTC. For instance, Coinbase will not credit people with BCC. Bittrex will give you both BTC and BCC.

What is the EPOCH time for the hardfork?

People are talking about days, but code doesn't care about days, mainly because days vary depending on the country. In some countries, it's august 1st already. In australia, there's near 1 day delay... it's a mess trying to talk about this in terms of calendar days.

So when is the exact moment of the hardfork? has it happened already?

Coinmarketcap is still listing BCC as "futures".

Poloniex and Coinbase will likely retain your BTC *BUT* they said they get to decide who the winning branch is. Coinbase said it doesn't support BCC, so it'd be awkward (=scandal) if they choose BCC. Poloniex was very ambiguous -they reserve the right to retire betaking your BTC and giving you BCC (calling "BCC" the new "BTC"). If they do that, they are out of business (but retired). Their statement are again not committing to doing anything in particular.

No known exchange is doing that. Exchanges either aren't supporting BCC at all or are giving BCC 1:1 to BTC. Nobody is gonna convert your BTC to BCC. That would be a shit move by any exchange. BTC keeps the exchange running. They won't rob you off your BTC ever.

I think you sir is very irresponsible to take care of your bitcoins. There are so many news that spread all over the bitcoin world reminding us to store it where you own your private keys. They all keep repeating that on the month of July but here you are and keeping on complaining. It's your fault it happens and not them.

Haven't you read this thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2012799.0)? You should've read it since it kep appearing at the top in the forum with News: then the guide. It is written by theymos himself. He warned everybody to get all their Bitcoins out of exchangers. YoBit haven't given you any real coins yet.  BCH hasn't happened yet.

It's a classic shady YoBit move to introduce futures as if they're real coins.
Poloniex and Coinbase will likely retain your BTC *BUT* they said they get to decide who the winning branch is. Coinbase said it doesn't support BCC, so it'd be awkward (=scandal) if they choose BCC. Their statement are again not committing to doing anything in particular.
The real risk is them deciding to keep the BCH for themselves and taking a small percentage of their customers' money.

I think you've missed to read the update about the news. Maybe its too late to decide what you are going to do with your bitcoin now. Yes, your descision were also ok because only bitcoin would splitted now while eth are not, but another problem of you is that all transaction cannot be process easily and by now it was hard to transact your bitcoin because the news was done. All you have to do is to wait again until its formally announce the return of bitcoin.

Why In the world would you wait till the very last moment, everyone knew this day was coming, so far so good no split but you should have moved your coins to a secure wallet with private keys and then sit back and see the drama unfold, now I don't think transactions will happen quickly or they will even allow it, your best shot would be Ltc though I don't like it. They are alt but bcc is bound to die a quick death maybe Ltc now and then switch to btc and take a secure wallet.
