Title: Bitcoincash forked out, now when is Segwit?
Post by: Tipstar on August 01, 2017, 10:52:02 AM
There was the talk of Segwit first and large Chinese miner went for hardfork.
In fact the hardfork eased the path for Segwit. So I think segwit is imminent now.
How quick will it occur?

I forgot the exact time.Perhaps after 3 or 4 months(October or November).
There were so many Segwit haters on this forum a year ago.Now the support for Segwit is so big.
The Chinese miner you are talking about is OKcoin, right?
They think they can make some profit with Bcash,i don`t believe it`s possible.

It's November as far as I know. We'll see what that will bring us. And you are right about Segwit haters, almost all have changed their mind. I think that problem is that people are not well informed or only half informed with many unaccurate information so they make wrong opinions.
As far as Chinese miners are concerned, BCC will not bring them money.

At the end of this difficulty period Segwit is probably going to be locked in (~9th), about 2 weeks later (after the next difficulty adjustment period of 2016 blocks) it will activate, then about mid November (the 18th I think) the Segwit2x hardfork is scheduled but as always in the crypto world until it happens nothing is set in stone.

Bitcoin Cash is still not forked to me knowledge is it? it's still an hour away?

The one that has already happened is BIP148, luckily nothing went wrong. We all can stop worrying about UASF now. Now we just need get past the Bitcoin Cash bullshit then the fucking moon will be near. Im tired of this period of constant FUD.

The next stop is JarzickCoin in november, when big blockers will crash the price again.

the flagging of segwit is pretty much over. but the utility of segwit has not even started.
even the pools on litecoin are not using segwit keypairs, yet they were all dramatised as being all for segwit... funny that!

the only reason the segwit flagging jumped from 35%-80-95% is the (near/possible) promise of 2mb base block in the next 3 months.
not because people suddenly adored the idea of segwit miraculously.

anyway lets see what happens in the next few months and find out what other promises are retracted and dont become forfilled
