I sent my BTC from my pre-fork Electrum wallet to my post-fork Electrum wallet.
I then imported the seed into Electron Cash on a different PC.

It showed the coins as being spent, but still there if that makes sense.  It said 1bcc - (1bcc unconfirmed).
I couldn't spend the bcc either. I will wait until tomorrow and see, maybe BCC/BCH need to mine some blocks to confirm that the BCC are there, but the BTC are gone.

It's all a bit weird, I hate sending coins from wallet to wallet, I'm always scared that I will make a mistake, or that something will happen.

When you sent BTC from pre-fork EW to post-fork EW, did you just send and receive? Or did you sweep private keys? I'm trying to figure out the correct way to do this.

I sent and received. You want your BTC wallet to be empty, leaving your BCH there.
If you import your private keys into a new wallet, you will import both BTC and BCH, and you will be back where you started!

Wait until the transaction is confirmed, before restoring from seed in Electron Cash. Apparently you need to select the correct server to get access to your BCH in Electron Cash.

Good luck and maybe start with a small amount, don't risk too much or trust anything too much!

I tried in mac , i got BCC successfuly . This is done for testing purpose only.

Before fork happen i already install electrum in my MAC PC. In that electrum i have 0.0002btc balance.

After fork on August 1, i installed electron-cash wallet on same pc.

I got 0.0002bcc in that wallet too. Means i did not follow any rules of Electrum.

After that i send btc to other web-wallet and it successfully transfred.

And in my electron cash wallet ,still showing me 0.0002 bcc.

Means all done in same pc . if want to do , do at your own risk.

If I have 5 BTC in my electrum Wallet, how can I test with just a little bit?

For example, in my electrum Wallet I have:
address 1: .002 BTC
address 2: 2 BTC
address 3 3 BTC

Total BTC: 5.002

How can I just test with the .002 BTC     ?

Just export the private key for "address 1" from Electrum and import into a BCC wallet...

Step 1. Goto the addresses tab... if you don't see it: "Wallet -> Addresses"
Step 2. Right click "Address 1" (the one that has 0.002 BTC) and select "Private Key"
Step 3. Input your password when prompted and copy the private key.
Step 4. In ElectronCash, create a new wallet ("File -> New/Restore -> Standard wallet -> Use private/public keys")
Step 5. Paste in the private key and you should see 0.002 BCC in your wallet.

NOTE: you may need to alter the network settings as per this post to get ElectronCash working right: https://www.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/6qyn18/electroncash_notice_how_to_select_bitcoincash/

Are you already able to spend your Bitcoin Cash?

Are you already able to spend your Bitcoin Cash?

Yes, Bitcoin Cash is currently spendable as long as you are connected to a server with the right chain. Blocks are very slow at the moment though so expect to wait quite some time for any confirms.

Electron Cash is a different client for Bitcoin Cash based on Electrum code.  It's at:  http://www.electroncash.org/

But be careful, lots of potential issues.  Electrum has posted these instructions and advice: https://electrum.org/bcc2.txt

Good Luck!

Thanks I'll try it!
So its possible to use the seed/private key from Jaxx as well on this Electron wallet right? Or is it just for the btc on elektrum?

I recommend to better to wait more time and wait for some bitcoin holders to clarify if they can successfully redeem their BCC.
For safety looks like there are still no bitcoin holders are already claimed their bcc and hope someone can give us tips if what wallet should be the best to choose or if this electron cash is much better to use..
For me for now i am still confused to claim my bcc but i'll still research and waiting for the answer if what wallet is the best to choose in their listed wallets for bcc..

Has anyone else had trouble with the Android APK? I cant seem to sign a transaction, and it gives me an invalid pin error when trying to view the seed.

Did you import an Electrum seed or a BIP39 seed that was from another wallet? Electrum does not store imported BIP39 seeds in the wallet file... so it is unable to be retrieved (on desktop, the "Wallet - Seed" menu item is greyed out and not clickable... on mobile it gives "invalid pin" error)

Well I've just tried it since no one says anything but when import the keys i got "No inputs found. (Note that inputs need to be confirmed)"

Then the keys you are trying to import do not contain any coins... This might happen if you've already moved the BTC from those keys... and your ElectronCash client is connected to the BTC network and looking at BTC chain instead of the BCH network.

Check your network settings... if the blockchain shows a value of: 478801 or higher, then you are most likely on the BTC network. You need to switch servers... uncheck auto connect and make sure you're connecting to a BCH server like one of these:
electroncash.cascharia.com (SSL: 50002)
electrum-abc.criptolayer.net (SSL: 50012)
180.235.49.196
35.185.209.69
35.197.25.235
bcc.arihanc.com (SSL: 52002)

You might want also want to remove the blockchain_headers file from your ElectronCash datadir so that it resyncs the headers correctly for BCH network.

It was from a paper wallet. The balance was uploaded to the electrum cash wallet but ya I cant seem to sign a transaction or view the seed.

I have tried to open my wallet entering my seed in Electron Cash after having emptied that wallet from BTCs, and Electron Cash was on another PC. No coins have appeared. Connection seems to the right servers.

I did successfully get BCC using electron cash and send the BCC to the exchanger. I installed electron-cash using the same computer with electrum, but after this, i no longer use electrum wallet to store bitcoin in my computer forever. Is it safe choice? and should i uninstall electrum and electron since not using it anymore?

Seems like the devs know about the issue... and have some patches in place:
https://github.com/fyookball/electrum/commit/8c4f3ad3c943b6a39b21744f89d7652d479f6f05
https://github.com/fyookball/electrum/commit/e8e37beeb46de6bba831a814c08187a921c55473

So you'll need to either wait for the next version to be released (currently now at v2.9.2)... compile it yourself from the latest codebase... or run from sources using latest codebase.

deleted. electron cash wallet works fine. 1 bug. you can only send out one payment at once. after you sent one it will say no funds. so need to wait for 1 confirmation

I send out 20% of the balance to bittrex, which is already showing there as incoming, but even there are plenty more coins it now says "Not enough funds"
If you click on "Wallet -> Show Coins", and then click on "Coins" Tab... how many inputs does it show? If you have a large number of inputs, your transaction will be massive and the dynamic fee will also be large. If you try to send all by clicking max.. then click "preview" and see what the transaction size is in bytes.

You can also try switching off the dynamic fees and set a manual fee... I have no idea what the minimum fees are for BCC... I assume not much as it has 8Meg blocks and I haven't seen 8megs worth of transactions yet ;)

I successfully imported keys for bitcoin-core wallet, and was able to send the BCC to bittrex wallet (well they await 17 more confirmations, but only 1 confirmation per 2 hours..)

this is what I did:
in the bitcoin-core wallet that holds the coins on august 1, I moved the coins to another address (in same wallet)
with the secret key of the now empty wallet address i imported this into electron-cash on a virtual machine.
The amount of BTC in the now empty wallet showed up instantly in the electron cash.

I then send from electron cash to bittrex, where it showed up after a few minutes.

So far so good.

about elctron cash.

once you sent out one payment, it says NO FUNDS, even if you have 1000 bcc.

once the payment has 1 confirmation you can sent one more payment !

Hi everyone, so today I installed Electron Cash 2.9.2 on a separate computer from where I have Electrum installed, I did move my BTC funds from my Elctrum wallet, exported my private key and imported it on Electron cash, the issue is that it shows up 0 BCC and the address that appears in Electron cash is different from my BTC address
When I search for my address on BCC blockchain I can see it with the right balance however there's something wrong with the private key import
Any idea guys ?

Title: Re: Anyone used Electron Cash Successfully?

If you are seeing a different address, then you have imported the wrong key... OR it is possible that your Electrum wallet was a MultiSig or 2FA wallet. Did your Electrum address start with a "3"?

Also, is there a reason you exported private keys as opposed to simply "restoring" the wallet in Electron Cash by using your "old" Electrum seed? Using the seed should guarantee that it regenerates the exact same addresses in Electron Cash that you had in Electrum.

I can start Electron Cash 2.9.2 with a server specified at the command line, and it will show the correct BCC balance but I can't send.

"your client produced a transaction that is not acceptable to the network anymore"

If I start with auto servers it always falls back to the BCC block chain.

I have tried:
electroncash.cascharia.com:50002
electrum_abc.criptolayer.net:50012
bcc.arihanc.com:52002

The first two wont even sync properly it they keep falling back to the fork block 478559:
"[Blockchain] verify_chunk failed bits mismatch: 402736949 vs 402757890"

I have deleted the .electron_cash and .electrum folders, and reimported keys several times, it doesn't help

Is there some other BCC server I should select, or is this a fail exercise in which case can someone suggest a better BCC client?

Hi HCP,

My Electrum wallet is using 2FA and my Electrum address starts by 3

I started over after reading your post and this time I restored using my Electrum seed, now I can see now all the transactions history however my balance is showing as 0, it's in fact showing xxxx mBCC [-xxxx unconfirmed]

When I check my address on BCC blockchain I can see the right balance but on my Elctron wallet it is showing the BTC transfer I did yesterday on Bitcoin network and my BCC balance is 0
Any idea ?

Thanks

If it is a 2FA wallet... you're not going to be able to spend them anyway, as TrustedCoin does not support BCC... so you won't be able to get them to sign any transactions you make.

To use your Electrum 2FA wallet on Electron Cash, you need to restore in Electron Cash using your 2FA seed and select "DISABLE" when prompted during the restore process:
https://talkimg.com/images/2023/11/15/zqm6I.png

That should enable you to then spend your BCC from Electron Cash (as it restores 2 master private keys onto your PC, so you can sign the transactions with 2 keys without needing TrustedCoin).

If it is showing up as unconfirmed, and showing the BTC transfer, then it sounds like Electron Cash is currently connected to BTC network and not the BCC network... Go into the network settings and see what server it is connected to.

If the blockchain you're connected to shows a number much higher than: 478818 (like ~479750), then you are connected to BTC network.

I can start Electron Cash 2.9.2 with a server specified at the command line, and it will show the correct BCC balance but I can't send.

"your client produced a transaction that is not acceptable to the network anymore"
Are you using a 2FA (or MultiSig) wallet by any chance? It sounds like the transaction is not being signed correctly... so the network is rejecting it.
